Chapter 1058: Chapter 1058: Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover

Shen Mianmian was very beautiful, and her temperant was just as good. No matter how one looked at her, she didn’t seem like a poor student. Besides, when people sponsor poor students, they typically cover tuition and living expenses, not buy them expensive items.

The clothes on Shen Mianmian were from a very popular brand at the mont, and a full outfit likely cost almost a thousand yuan.

Shen Mianmian narrowed her eyes and smiled, “Miss Tang, you flatter . You’re very beautiful too.”

Tang Ling said, “Miss Shen, I’m not saying this to complint you, I genuinely don’t think you seem like a poor student.”

“Don’t judge a book by its cover,” Shen Mianmian said.

Upon hearing this, Tang Ling pursed her lips and decided to ask more directly, “Miss Shen, please tell the truth. What is your relationship with President He?”

Shen Mianmian was a smart person; Tang Ling felt that even if she didn’t spell it out, Shen Mianmian could probably guess that she was interested in He Nan.

Tang Ling was also smart. She knew that a man as outstanding as He Nan never lacked admirers. And with He Nan’s temperant, if she aggressively pursued him and made it obvious, it would only turn him off, and she might even lose her job.

So, she never did that.

He Nan’s side had never been involved with any ambiguous won, so she was even less rushed. She aid to let He Nan notice her rits and to develop things slowly.

When she ran into Shen Mianmian at the restaurant last ti, she didn’t think too much of it. But this ti, Mianmian actually ca to look for He Nan and stayed in his office for so long, Tang Ling really couldn’t help but think more about it.

Shen Mianmian said indifferently, “Miss Tang, you’re a smart person. You should understand that it’s better to ask less about President He’s affairs. The things you’re allowed to know are already public, known to everyone. Since he hasn’t let you know, it ans he doesn’t want others to know. So, are you sure you still want to ask?”

Tang Ling pursed her lips. She wasn’t one to incessantly pry into things, but facing this matter, she couldn’t help but want to know the answer, “Miss Shen, if I say I want to know, will you tell ?”

Shen Mianmian smiled, “I could.”

There was a pause in her tone, and then she continued, “My relationship with President He is exactly what you least hope for.”

Tang Ling: “…”

The implication was quite clear, but she couldn’t let go and bit her lip to press further, “Are you President He’s fiancée?”

“Uh-huh,” Shen Mianmian nodded in acknowledgnt, “I’m still in school. Once I graduate, our relationship will be made public.”

“I see,” Tang Ling took a deep breath, “I was presumptuous. Sorry.”

Shen Mianmian said, “Miss Tang, you are very capable. I hope this matter doesn’t affect your work and life.”

Tang Ling, looking at Shen Mianmian’s composed deanor, couldn’t help but ask another question, “Miss Shen, I’m really curious. With soone like working closely with President He, aren’t you worried at all?”

Tang Ling was always confident and brave, but she was very clear that if she were Shen Mianmian, with soone like her around He Nan, she would definitely feel threatened. Yet Shen Mianmian was so at ease.

Did Shen Mianmian just trust He Nan so much, trust in their relationship?

Shen Mianmian smiled candidly, “There are so many outstanding people in the world, it would be exhausting to worry about them all every day. Instead of worrying about that, I might as well make myself more confident and more capable. I’ve always believed that if the flowers bloom, the butterflies will co.”
