Chapter 274: Chapter 274 Cutting Off the Connection with Divinity (First Update)
Nezha the Third Prince and Erlang God Yang Jian’s competition ended with Yang Jian’s victory; next up was the match between Sun Wukong and Nezha.
“I surrender!”
Before even entering the space of the Investiture of the Gods, Nezha directly spoke up.
“Surrender?”
All the Immortals and Gods were wide-eyed with disbelief, surrendering couldn’t be this egregious, could it?

Nezha shrugged his shoulders and spread his hands.
“Alright then.”
Sun Wukong couldn’t find any good words to rebut what Nezha said, so he could only nod his head in agreent.
Erlang God Yang Jian also surrendered in his match against Sun Wukong. In Yang Jian’s words, Sun Wukong had comprehended Domain Power, while he had not; so for now, he certainly wasn’t Sun Wukong’s match. There was no need for a battle sure to be lost, better to wait until he had obtained an Innate Spiritual Treasure and mastered Domain Power on the Ascend to Heaven Platform before vying for superiority.
Nezha lost both of his matches, and so did the God of Wealth Zhao Gongming. Since Real Man of Jade Cauldron had fallen, Nezha needed to fight another match against Zhao Gongming to determine the third candidate to enter the Ascend to Heaven Platform.
Zhao Gongming, of course, couldn’t just outright surrender; that would be too transparent. The two engaged in a symbolic competition, and Zhao Gongming pretended to be gravely injured and defeated. He conceded the spot to ascend the platform to Nezha without dispute, and the assembly of Immortals and Gods had nothing to say about it.
“The Ascend to Heaven Platform will open in three days. The Great Sage Equalling Heaven Sun Wukong, the Manifestation of Erlang True Lord Yang Jian, and the Guardian Marshal Nezha the Third Prince will enter to cultivate for a period of one month!”

Nezha took the gourd of Victorious Fighting Wine that Sun Wukong handed him and asked with so confusion.
“Don’t you know by slling it?”
Sun Wukong let out a chuckle, his eyes twinkling with a mix of mystery and pride.
Nezha raised an eyebrow, pulled the stopper, and took a whiff. His eyes instantly brightened: “What kind of Immortal Wine is this, with such a rich Immortal Spirit Qi!”
“Let see.”
The God of Wealth Zhao Gongming and Erlang God Yang Jian both crowded in for a sll and had the sa reaction as Nezha, faces full of shock. They had never seen Immortal Wine with such a dense Immortal Spirit Qi!
“This is the Victorious Fighting Wine that I brewed myself. You’re injured, so drink up and heal. Within three days, you must recover from your injuries, so it doesn’t interfere with your cultivation inside the Ascend to Heaven Platform!”
The Ascend to Heaven Platform was the optimal place for cultivation and breakthroughs, so they couldn’t afford to waste ti on healing injuries. Even though Sun Wukong had extracted the Lifebound Divinity of Zhao Gongming from the space of the Investiture of the Gods, if they didn’t sever the connection between Zhao Gongming and his Lifebound Divinity soon, a new Divinity would regenerate inside the Investiture of the Gods. Zhao Gongming would remain unable to escape his fate of being controlled. Severing the connection might heavily impact Zhao Gongming’s physical body and divine soul, so it was imperative to be in peak condition to avoid irreversible hidden injuries.
Zhao Gongming no longer stood on ceremony, took a seat on a cushion inside the room, drank a sip of Victorious Fighting Wine, and started to cultivate and heal. Sun Wukong and Erlang God Yang Jian stood by as protectors.
“Sun Wukong, have you ever really considered surrendering to the Heavenly Court, or are you just biding your ti for the mont?”
The air fell into a silent stillness, and after a long pause, Erlang God Yang Jian glanced at Sun Wukong and couldn’t help asking.
“Yang Jian, are you asking for yourself, or on behalf of that old Jade Emperor?”
Sun Wukong’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked towards Erlang God Yang Jian.
“Of course, I’m asking for myself!”
Erlang God Yang Jian snorted, “Don’t deny it, I see the reluctance in your eyes; a person like you will never be content with just being a Naval Deputy General in the Heavenly Court.”
“If you see it so clearly, then why bother asking?”
Sun Wukong smiled, “Or is it that you yourself are dissatisfied with your current predicant and want to make a change?”
“When did I ever say I wanted to change? Hmph!”
A trace of panic flashed through Erlang God’s eyes after being jabbed at his core concerns, he snorted coldly and turned his head, using silence to dodge the issue. Sun Wukong chuckled and didn’t press further, as there would be plenty of ti in the future. One day, he would have Erlang God Yang Jian willingly join him in Flower-Fruit Mountain to assist him!
With the help of Immortal Wine for fighting and victory, Nezha and God of Wealth Zhao Gongming took less than a day to recover from their injuries. Sun Wukong began helping Zhao Gongming to sever the connection to his Lifebound Divinity, while Nezha and Erlang God Yang Jian left the room—firstly, to avoid conflict of interest, and secondly, to stand guard at the door to prevent any disturbances to Sun Wukong.
“Great Saint, what should I do?”
Looking at his Lifebound Divinity erging in Sun Wukong’s hand, God of Wealth Zhao Gongming was sowhat confused.
“You don’t need to do anything, just use your Immortal Force to protect your heart ridian and Primordial Spirit, guarding your true nature is enough, leave the rest to Old Sun!”
“Really do nothing at all?”
“Nothing at all, just guard your true nature and protect your heart ridian Primordial Spirit, no matter what happens, don’t get distracted, just trust in Old Sun!”
God of Wealth Zhao Gongming asked no more, Sun Wukong had already made it clear, so he just followed the advice. He trusted that Sun Wukong would not harm him, as Sun Wukong wouldn’t be so confident if he wasn’t sure!
Sun Wukong laid out an isolating Formation and sat down opposite Zhao Gongming. This was his first ti helping soone sever their connection with their Lifebound Divinity, and he didn’t know how much commotion it would cause, which is why he sealed the room so as not to alert the Jade Emperor with any disturbances.

Having protected Zhao Gongming’s mud pill palace, Sun Wukong began to intensify the Chaos Primordial Force on his palm, encapsulating Zhao Gongming’s Lifebound Divinity, and started the assimilation process.

Fragnts of the origin imprints appeared in the void, piercing through to Zhao Gongming—once all of these origin imprint fragnts were retrieved, Zhao Gongming would be completely severed from the Lifebound Divinity and freed from the restrictions of the Divine Enthronent.
In the rear palace of Lingxia Palace, within the sleeping chamber of the Jade Emperor, suddenly opened his eyes while ditating cross-legged. He had been astrally surveying the Three Realms and suddenly sensed an anomaly in the Investiture of the Gods, quickly retracting his Divine Sense. With a thought, the Investiture of the Gods erged from between his eyebrows.
“What is this… origin imprint fragnts? They belong to the God of Wealth Zhao Gongming, and soone is gathering Zhao Gongming’s origin imprint fragnts! Who might that be?”
Fragnt after fragnt of the origin imprints dissolved away within the Investiture of the Gods, clearly being absorbed by soone. The Jade Emperor could not be sure whether the person absorbing them was Zhao Gongming himself, but he was certain this was no ordinary matter!
After probing the Investiture of the Gods with his Divine Sense, the Jade Emperor discovered that Zhao Gongming’s Lifebound Divinity was also gone, clearly indicating that soone was using the Lifebound Divinity to extract Zhao Gongming’s origin imprints from within the Investiture of the Gods!
“Daring to make trouble right under my nose, let’s see who’s bold enough to do this!”
The retrieval of the origin imprints was undoubtedly related to Zhao Gongming, but what the Jade Emperor wanted to know was who was helping Zhao Gongming or, rather, who was attempting to take control over Zhao Gongming from him?
