"What? You released the Demonic Beast Taotie from its seal beneath the Heavenly River?"

After listening to Sun Wukong briefly describe the incident, Zi Lan Fairy's astonishnt was evident by the widening of her lips, as she lifted her head to stare at Sun Wukong, "Wukong, how could you do such a thing? That was too impulsive! If the Jade Emperor finds out, that would be a serious cri!"

"Don't worry, I've already thought this through. The Jade Emperor won't be able to pin anything on !"

Sun Wukong replied with an unconcerned smile, knowing that Zi Lan Fairy was not accusing him but concerned for him, "That Demonic Beast Taotie was originally lured out by Zhu Tianpeng, that dead fat pig, and his two worthless deputies in a sche against . I just turned their plot against them, and nobody knows about it.

Moreover, Zhu Tianpeng has no evidence and he probably thinks it was an accident that backfired!"

"Wukong, the Demonic Beast Taotie is an Ancient fierce beast that hard many Immortals and Gods during the great battle between Immortals and Demons. Releasing it, it could harm even more people!"

"Harm?"

Sun Wukong let out a cold laugh, grabbed Zi Lan Fairy by the shoulders to stabilize her, and looked at her earnestly, "Zi Lan, there are so things I must make clear to you, and you must think carefully. You should not be swayed by emotion!"

"I am from the Demon Clan, and so are you. We both co from Flower-Fruit Mountain, and we should always consider the interests of the Flower-Fruit Mountain Demon Race. I know the Queen Mother has been good to you, but that doesn't an you should be biased towards the Heavenly Court!"

Zi Lan Fairy opened her mouth as if to say sothing, but Sun Wukong raised a hand to stop her, "Zi Lan, don't rush, let finish speaking!"

"Indeed, the Demonic Beast Taotie is an Ancient Fierce Beast, notorious for devouring many Immortals and Gods during the great battle between Immortals and Demons, but there was a reason for it! The great war itself was orchestrated by the Jade Emperor to weaken the power of the Chan Sect.

It was an excuse to round up those unruly Immortals and place them on the Investiture of the Gods list, which would make it easier for the Jade Emperor to control them. The Demon Race was rely used as a tool!"

Sun Wukong detailed the entire backstory of the Heaven-Defying Demon Emperor Mu Chenxuan to Zi Lan Fairy, "So you see, the so-called great war was entirely caused by the Jade Emperor's desire to firmly control the Three Realms. The Demon Race attacked the Heavenly Court because Heaven-Defying Demon Emperor Mu Chenxuan was deceived and beca furiously vengeful.

However, caught off guard, Brother Mu ultimately could not outwit the Jade Emperor's sches and was sealed by the combined efforts of the Great Mystic and Guang Chengzi. Without , he would probably have been completely obliterated by that seal!"

"However, the Heavenly Court's version of the great war doesn't match up with what you've just told , Wukong..."

Zi Lan Fairy was sowhat baffled. She had never even considered the possibility of what Sun Wukong was telling her, let alone having heard such things before. The Heavenly Court's records portrayed the Demon Race as bloodthirsty and murderous by nature, launching the war out of pure aggression, which completely contradicted Sun Wukong's account!

"Of course, the Heavenly Court will never reveal the true nature of that war. If it did, wouldn't the Jade Emperor be considered an ambitious scher? How would he continue to command the Three Realms?"

Sun Wukong shook his head with a wry smile. Zi Lan Fairy was still too naïve. History is always written by the victors, a saying that applies not only to the Mortal World.

In the face of interests, there are no absolute rights or wrongs; there are only victors and the vanquished. Since the Heavenly Court won that war, the reasons and processes naturally got to be dictated by the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor made sure that all the Immortals and Gods in the Heavenly Court would rember what he wanted them to rember.

As for the real reasons—who would care, and who would spontaneously think about them?

The cruelest, most inconceivable things often do not get recorded in books; they're not easy to docunt. Only those who have witnessed such things can truly understand why the term "beasts" was coined by humans, yet it is used to describe much more than just livestock.

"Zi Lan, what you've heard and what you've seen are rely what the Jade Emperor wants people to hear and see. He would never docunt the truth as it is. As for the Demonic Beast Taotie, it is not as vicious and unforgivably evil as the rumors claim. At least in my eyes, he is much more honest than those who sche and plot behind others' backs!"

These words from Sun Wukong sent Zi Lan Fairy into deep thought. Sun Wukong did not disturb her and just held her quietly, sitting on the edge of the bed. What he had said today would be a huge shock to Zi Lan Fairy, but it was a shock she needed to experience. If there were to be a complete falling out between him and the Heavenly Court, how would Zi Lan Fairy decide where she stood?

Without a clear position in her heart, she would only feel torn when the ti ca.

"Wukong, I understand what you are saying! Don't worry, I know my identity. I co from Flower-Fruit Mountain; I am a part of the Demon Clan. The interests of Flower-Fruit Mountain, your interests, will always be my top priority!"

The fact proved that Zi Lan Fairy truly was a gentle and kind-hearted woman. She promptly grasped and resonated with Sun Wukong's earnest efforts, "It's just that the Queen Mother has been kind to , so there are so things I can only pretend not to know. I can't actively help you, or else that would be ingratitude!"

"I never asked you to do anything for anyway!"

Sun Wukong laughed, "You silly girl, I'm telling you all this not because I want you to do sothing that goes against your conscience for . I just don't want you to be in a difficult position! You are aware that sooner or later, I am bound to have a fallout with the Heavenly Court. When that happens, stay out of it as much as you can, and that will set my mind at ease!"

"Also, having been sealed for so many years, the Demonic Beast Taotie harbors deep resentnt. It doesn't recognize you, and if you appear before it, it's likely to devour you without hesitation, just like it would anyone else."

After a pause, Sun Wukong solemnly advised Zi Lan Fairy, "So no matter how chaotic things get outside, stay inside your house for the next few days and don't go anywhere!"

"Okay, I'll listen to you!"

Zi Lan Fairy nodded her head. Actually, without Sun Wukong telling her, she had no plans to leave the Jade Pool to ddle in outside matters. Sun Wukong certainly had his own plans; she didn't need to worry for him.

"This is for you!"

Sun Wukong nodded in satisfaction. After acting affectionate for a while, he was about to stand up and leave when suddenly, as if rembering sothing, he flipped his palm, and a gourd appeared in his hand, which he then handed to Zi Lan Fairy.

"Wukong, what's this? Wine?"

Zi Lan Fairy took the gourd and opened it to take a sniff. Instantly, a refreshing aroma of wine wafted out, making her feel delightfully at ease with just a single whiff. It seed as though the Immortal Force within her had even increased, and she couldn't help but express her surprise, "What kind of wine is this? It's so powerful?"

"This is Monkey Wine, brewed by yours truly!"

Sun Wukong said with a proud smile. He had brewed the wine using Peach of Immortality and various Immortal Fruits. He hadn't even tasted it himself yet, but just by slling, he knew this Monkey Wine was truly exceptional!

"Monkey Wine?"

Zi Lan Fairy pressed her nose against the gourd's opening and took another deep sniff, showing a look of enjoynt on her face. The Immortal Force inside her showed a noticeable increase this ti. Just the fragrance had such an effect; the efficacy of the wine itself must be astonishingly powerful!

"Wukong, what kind of Immortal Fruit is this made from, the effects are amazing! I've never seen Immortal Wine of this quality before!"

As the Queen Mother's most favored and cherished personal maid, Zi Lan Fairy had seen much of the world. On a regular basis, the Queen Mother would bestow her so Immortal Wine and Spirit Pills, but none could compare to the Monkey Wine brewed by Sun Wukong!

This was, without a doubt, the finest Immortal Wine Zi Lan Fairy had ever encountered!

"Well, it's made with Peach of Immortality and so other Immortal Fruits..."

"Peach of Immortality?"

As soon as Sun Wukong ntioned this, Zi Lan Fairy's eyes widened in shock. Sun Wukong had actually gone and stolen Peaches of Immortality!

"My heavens, Wukong, you're too audacious! If this were discovered..."

"Don't worry, it won't be found out! I only took one peach from each tree, there's no way to tell!"

Sun Wukong chuckled mischievously; there were three thousand six hundred Peach trees, and who would notice one less peach from each?

"Zi Lan, your cultivation strength is still lacking. You couldn't absorb a finer wine even if you had it. Use this Monkey Wine brewed with the three-thousand-year flowering and fruiting Peaches of Immortality to enhance your cultivation for now."

These words surprised Zi Lan Fairy again: "Finer wine? Wukong, do you have even better Immortal Wine?"

"Of course, this gourd of Monkey Wine is only brewed with three-thousand-year flowering and fruiting Peaches of Immortality and other Immortal Fruits. I also have Monkey Wine brewed with six-thousand-year and nine-thousand-year flowering and fruiting Peaches of Immortality, which are much stronger than this bottle!"

Sun Wukong touched his nose proudly and chuckled. Zi Lan had just reached the Scattered Immortal Realm; she wouldn't be able to absorb quality Immortal Wine - the vast Spiritual Energy within it would be too much for her to bear. Drinking it would only backfire, so the Monkey Wine brewed with the three-thousand-year flowering and fruiting peaches was more than enough for her now.

As for the Monkey Wine brewed from six-thousand-year and nine-thousand-year flowering and fruiting peaches, Sun Wukong wouldn't be able to produce it even if he wanted to because he hadn't finished brewing it yet!

The higher the grade of the Immortal Fruit, the longer it takes to brew Monkey Wine, and this bottle had just been successfully refined.

"Wukong, this Immortal Wine is so powerful, calling it Monkey Wine seems rather plain. Why not give it a more attractive na?"

"A more attractive na? Hmm, I haven't thought of that..."

Sun Wukong stroked his chin, reminded by Zi Lan Fairy's words. After all, this was wine brewed with Peaches of Immortality; it was far superior to wine made from common Spirit Fruits, and calling it "Monkey Wine" seed inappropriate indeed. So, what should he na it?
