Chapter 1116: Chapter 1118: We Are Divine Beasts (Second Update)
Sun Wukong wrapped the strange fish into a sphere, trapping it in his palm. The four of them sped up and flew forward, quickly reaching the gap in the barrier.
As expected, no monsters appeared to block their way here.
“Brother Wukong, those people behind are catching up.”
Shen Lang pointed behind him. Sun Wukong looked back and indeed saw small black dots approaching from the horizon—those people were catching up.
“No worries, let them follow. There will naturally be sothing waiting for them soon!”
Sun Wukong sneered and motioned for Shen Lang and the others to pass through the gap in the barrier first.
Shen Lang and the others nodded and sped up, flying past.
In the distance, Manba and his people from the Dark Barbarian Tribe saw Sun Wukong ahead, but they hadn’t seen the scene of Sun Wukong subduing the strange snake.
“Strange, why weren’t they attacked by the gatekeeping beast? Could it be that the beast has already been dealt with by them?”
Manba felt a flash of doubt in his heart, then his eyes lit up, and he shouted to the people behind him,
“Everyone, speed up. The gatekeeping beast has been dealt with by the people ahead; let’s hurry and catch up!”
At Manba’s shout, everyone’s eyes lit up.
The gatekeeping beast was eliminated by Sun Wukong and the others so quickly, indicating their strength. Unfortunately, Sun Wukong refused to beco their temporary leader; otherwise, they could easily follow through the barrier.

As they flew past the barrier gap, Sun Wukong casually tossed the light sphere which held the strange snake towards the rear.
“It seems like Sun Wukong threw sothing back…”
“Ignore it, just rush through!”
The pursuers saw the sphere Sun Wukong threw but paid no attention, continuing to charge forward aggressively.
Just as they were about to reach the gap, the electric net around the strange snake suddenly disappeared. The snake broke free and went on a furious rampage.
“Roar~!”
A roar, unlike any snake’s, erupted from the snake’s mouth. Its massive body appeared and imdiately swept several challengers with its tail, swallowing one whole before they could crush their teleportation talismans.
“Oh no! It’s the gatekeeping beast! That guy didn’t kill it, he subdued it! Damn, he left this beast to block us intentionally!”
Manba from the Dark Barbarian Tribe’s face turned livid. At this mont, he finally understood, his hair standing on end in fury.
“Sun Wukong, you rember this; I’ll settle this score with you sooner or later!”
With a loud roar, Manba charged towards the snake, extending his round shield to block the beast’s bone spikes while his axe swung viciously at the monster.
The sounds of battle and shouting from the rear passed through the gap in the barrier, drifting into Sun Wukong’s ears.
Sun Wukong’s lips curled into a disdainful sneer; he heard Manba’s roar clearly.
Angry about not being able to take advantage? Such worthless temperant will limit future achievents, not worthy of befriending!
Previously, Sun Wukong refused to beco their leader. First, he didn’t want to be used and allow others to benefit, and second, he wanted to see their reactions to his refusal.
From a person’s reaction to such situations, one can see their nature. Sun Wukong wanted to see if there were any worth befriending, and if so, he wouldn’t mind lending a hand.

Landing by the lakeshore, Sun Wukong said calmly to Shen Lang and the other three as he led the way forward.

Shen Lang chuckled mischievously and stepped forward, followed by Zi Ying.
Lei Na glanced back at the battle on the other side of the barrier, her lips curling slightly,
“That guy can be quite devious! But, it’s quite satisfying!”
Packing away her smile, Lei Na chased after Sun Wukong and the others.
In the Wuji Purgatory area, danger increased deeper in. No sooner did Sun Wukong and his group enter the fifth layer than they were beset by several waves of monster attacks.
These monsters, stronger than the fish from before, are all at the Void God Realm level, but pose no threat to Sun Wukong’s group. Yet, the relentless attacks were annoying.
After a few waves, Sun Wukong grew impatient and summoned the Dragon Cat, Tian Lin, Dragon Scorpion, and Vermilion Bird.
“Release your aura for , intimidate those monsters! Any that are blind enough to cause trouble, eliminate them all!”
Sun Wukong commanded the four.
“Boss, rest assured, watch us!”
“With us here, no monster will bother you again!”
“Haha, finally can stretch out after so long; don’t fight for it, I want them to taste Grandpa Dragon Scorpion’s tail!”
“Humph! Just clowns, I’ll burn them to ash with one fla!”

The four exchanged remarks, exuding an awe-inspiring aura, first startling Shen Lang and the other three who felt it the most directly.
“Wow! Brother Wukong, you have so many contract spiritual beasts!”
Shen Lang exclaid.
“Spiritual beasts? You’ve got no clue; we’re divine beasts! Understand divine beasts?”
The Dragon Cat glared at Shen Lang with disdain, rolling its eyes. Among the four, the others had beco hill-sized, except it remained palm-sized, lazily perched on Sun Wukong’s shoulder.
Yet, the aura exuded by the Dragon Cat was equally strong, if not the strongest of the four!
