The rmaid Girl
"Was that monster just below us?"
Lola looked toward the spring water, but the darkness beneath prevented her from seeing anything.
"It shouldn't be. The monster was huge; there's no way such a small spring could give rise to a creature like that,"
Celia analyzed, while Serea searched for sothing nearby. Casually, Serea picked up a piece of glowing ore and tossed it into the spring.
The glowing stone slowly sank, taking nearly twenty seconds before it stopped descending. A rough estimate suggested that the spring was at least a dozen ters deep.
"I guess there must be a passageway leading sowhere else below," she said, piquing everyone's curiosity. At this mont, Serea's bracelet transford into the shape of a sli.
"There is food."
"???"
Serea was a bit puzzled by that remark, but before she could ask, Pelam jumped straight into the spring.
Thud!
"!!!"
Seeing this, Serea quickly established a spirit link.
"Why did you jump in all of a sudden?"
"Because there's food."
Pelam swam downward and soon reached the bottom of the spring. Through Pelam's eyesight, Serea saw a massive set of bones hidden underwater, though the weak light made it hard to see clearly.
"Celia, could you cast Holy Light into the water for ?"
With a Holy Light spell shining into the depths, Serea saw the enormous skeleton—a dragon's bones!
Pelam swam around the skeleton. At the base of the bones was a small pile of gold coins and jewels, and among them was a pure black, diamond-shaped gemstone.
The gemstone emitted a strange magic energy, and its power seed to flow with the current. Seeing this, Pelam swallowed the gem in one gulp, then swam back toward the surface, satisfied.
Splash!
Pelam jumped next to Serea, about to digest the black gemstone.
"Spit it out,"
Serea ordered, but Pelam shook her head.
"Then let's trade,"
Serea said, placing ten material Crystals next to Pelam. Upon seeing this, Pelam spat out the gemstone and ate the Crystals instead.
Serea picked up the gemstone and examined it carefully.
Deep Sea Relic (Gold, sealed): An unknown gemstone containing powerful magic.
"Gold quality! I can pick up sothing this good just walking around? Seems I ought to reevaluate my luck,"
Serea muttered. Clearly, a gemstone placed with a dragon's bones was no ordinary item.
"Such powerful magic. Is this a magic mineral?" asked Lodran, the others also puzzled.
"Probably. Since we chanced upon it, we'll just keep it,"
Serea said casually, stowing away the gemstone.
"Was there anything else underwater?"
"No, the previous monster's gone too. Just this piece of useless rock,"
Serea replied, keeping news of the dragon's bones secret due to Lodran's presence.
Lodran glanced around the underground cavern. The few glowing stones were worthless, and minerals were scarce.
"Looks like there's nothing worth mining here."
"Yeah, just mine what's inside the cave itself. As for here..."
Serea looked at the spring.
"That monster's origin is unknown. For safety, we should seal this place off,"
Serea said, eting no objections.
"Alright, the cave is cleared. Our transaction is complete."
"Really?"
Lodran exclaid excitedly. To him, exchanging a barren mine they couldn't excavate and so mining techniques for an enchanted armor workshop was already a huge win. Little did he know what was hidden here...
"Yes."
"I'll have the tribal miners co help tomorrow."
"Good. Hurry and build the armor workshop too. When I get back, I'll give you the blueprint,"
Serea responded.
"Thank you, queen."
The group climbed up the stone steps out of the mine, and after they left, a blue-haired girl poked her head out of the spring.
"Little Mo, you're so silly. I asked you to hide sothing and you just had to get greedy. See? They took it..."
"Woo!"
The enormous Deep Sea Octopus raised its head from the spring and called out.
"What? You said you hid it well, but they found it anyway. Besides, 'Miss' doesn't want that thing anymore."
Understanding the aning behind what was expressed by Little Mo, the girl looked troubled.
"But even if Miss said 'never mind, just hide it,' that must be a really important treasure," she said with a wronged expression.
"Really, why would anyone co to a place like this..."
"Woo."
"No, even if Miss doesn't want it, I definitely have to get it back."
"Woo?"
Little Mo blinked his big eyes in confusion.
"I'm going to look for those humans."
"Woo."
"Ah, don't worry. Land creatures must be as kind as those lizardn. Go tell Miss that I'll be right back."
"Woo."
Little Mo didn't know what to say, while the girl had already leapt onto the stone platform.
Splash!
Water splashed everywhere as the girl landed on the stone platform. Her tail was revealed to be a blue fish tail.
Level 30! Silver Elite! rmaid!
Her level was actually higher than that giant octopus beast.
Chanting a spell, a layer of light coated her fish tail, transforming it into two ivory-like legs.
"The human form is really troubleso..."
She leaned against the cave wall and slowly stood up, wobbling as if unaccustod to standing.
"Woo!"
Seeing the girl about to fall, little Mo extended a tentacle to support her.
"Thanks, little Mo."
"Woo."
"Alright, I know, I'll be careful."
With that, the girl set off after the others.
"Wait up!"
She ran while calling out to Serea and the rest.
With no one responding, she had to head upwards, calling to Little Mo as well.
"Go back and tell Miss. I will definitely reclaim the item and hide it sowhere safe."
"Woo!"
"I rember, I rember. If I'm in danger, I'll blow the conch. Now go back."
"Woo."
With a parting call, little Mo dove back under the water, while the blue-haired girl leaned on the rock wall and made her way up, still calling as she climbed.
Outside, Serea and the others had already left the mine.
"It's getting late, let's go back for today."
"Mm."
The group rode Carrion Beasts back toward camp. Just two minutes after they left, the blue-haired girl erged, staggering out.
Sunlight stung her eyes; unaccustod to such brightness, she shielded her face with her hand. Once she adapted, she stood at the cave entrance and looked over the forest.
"So this is the land world... How beautiful."
Imrsed in the novelty of the land, she gazed curiously around. Suddenly, she rembered sothing.
"Right, where did those people just go?"
Puzzled, the girl looked toward the jungle, only to see Serea and the others riding Carrion Beasts toward a distant camp.
"Wait, wait up!"
She yelled, but due to the distance, Serea and the others didn't hear her.
"Ugh, why are they going so fast..."
Glancing at the fading figures and then at the conch hanging from her neck, she gritted her teeth, stumbling after Serea's group.
