Evacuation
Boom!
The first impact echoed, and through the gaps in the wooden wall, it could be seen that the enemy's heavy infantry were smashing the wall with massive hamrs.
The wooden wall, which was originally built to withstand zombies, stood no chance against such destruction. After just a few strikes, the wall started to tilt inward crookedly and would collapse soon enough.
Once the wooden wall fell, the enemy's main force would imdiately storm into the camp.
Comparing strength, the enemy was overwhelming both in numbers and power, and since their own tribespeople had been wounded by a sneak attack, if they tried to fight head-on, it would certainly end in defeat!
Having witnessed the atrocities of humans, Doluka could easily guess with her toes what they would do.
If Lola, Serea, or even Little Black were here, any one of them might offer hope of victory, but coincidentally, all of them were out at the mont.
Given the situation, Doluka made a quick decision.
"Brother, quickly gather everyone and retreat to the dense forest at the back of the camp—there are too many enemies, and without Lola and Queen Serea's help, we can't hold them off."
"No, we've worked so hard to build this ho. How can we just abandon it?"
"We have to. Take the Queen's Skeleton Warrior and have it contact the Queen. The current enemy is not soone we can contend with!"
Doluka spoke decisively.
It wasn't that she feared death, but there were still many tribespeople in the elven village who couldn't fight. The wooden wall was about to be breached, and once the humans rushed in, disaster would strike the tribe!
So, the people had to be evacuated first—while the enemy hadn't surrounded the camp yet!
Looking into Doluka's resolute eyes, dolosam thought for a mont, then nodded.
"All right, I'll go right now!"
With that, dolosam ran from the wall quickly toward the village. The elves, already alard by the sounds of fighting outside, had co out.
"What happened?"
A female elf asked. Upon hearing this, dolosam shouted urgently at the elves.
"Everyone, human soldiers are here. We must imdiately assemble and then enter the dense forest at the back of the camp to hide."
"Human soldiers!"
"Yes, the Queen and Lola are both away, and we can't stand up to the enemy right now. Forget all our possessions; everyone, assemble and prepare to retreat!"
Dolosam shouted, and upon hearing it, the elves quickly gathered at the rear of the camp. Suddenly, dolosam saw a familiar figure running towards the wall.
"Dorolulu!"
It was his younger sister. Seeing her about to head to the wall, dolosam grabbed her.
"Go join the others, now!"
"No, I want to help sister defeat the enemy."
"Listen! This is not playti—go assemble, now!"
"But..."
"No buts!"
Helpless, dorolulu had to stand with the rest of the elves. Seeing everyone gathered, dolosam ran back up to the wooden wall.
"Everyone's gathered, we're just waiting for you all—let's retreat together."
As Dolosam spoke, Doluka looked around. Of the twenty elven warriors, seven or eight were already wounded. There were also many young in the village, and if they tried to flee, the enemy would definitely catch up.
With that in mind, Doluka issued an order to the elves beside her.
"The wounded and archers, go assemble with everyone and fall back; the rest stay with
to distract the enemy."
"Yes!" x4
Four elven rangers obeyed the command, standing ready before the wall that could be breached at any mont.
"Doluka, aren't you coming with us?"
"Soone has to draw the enemy's attention, or else the wounded and the children won't have a chance to escape."
"But..."
"I don't want any more 'buts.' Before leaving, the Queen ordered
to defend this place. I may have failed, but you still have to listen to . Go! Find the Queen!"
"......"
"That's an order! All of you go—the enemy is about to break in!"
Seeing everyone still hesitating, Doluka grew angry.
Glancing at the wall about to collapse, dolosam realized that lingering here would only waste ti needed for evacuation.
With things at this point, dolosam had no choice but to obey. He supported an injured elven archer.
"You must all get out safely!"
"Got it—go, quickly."
Doluka urged them, and hearing this, dolosam assisted the wounded archer and regrouped with the main force. The two Skeleton Warriors stood at the front of the elves.
Led by the Skeleton Warriors, everyone moved swiftly. They jumped over the low wall at the back of the camp and quickly moved into the woods.
However, this did not escape Cliff's notice. With the main gate about to be breached, he had already sent people to the back of the camp, but he hadn't anticipated the enemy would abandon their base so decisively—his soldiers could only watch as the elves escaped.
"Sir! They really are elves!"
"Cut the crap, I saw it too—hurry up and chase them!"
"Yes, sir!"
With that, twenty human soldiers gave chase. Since there were still enemies in the camp, cliff didn't dare send too many n in pursuit.
Boom!
The wooden wall collapsed, and the soldiers flooded into the camp, only to be greeted by a volley of arrows.
Ding ding ding!
Arrows clattered harmlessly off armor and shields. Only a few arrows struck the enemy.
"They're up there!"
Following the direction from which the arrows ca, the soldiers saw Doluka and four elven rangers in the Elf Tree.
"Fire!"
As arrows flew, Doluka and the others had no choice but to dodge.
At first, they could use the tree branches for cover, but as the human archers advanced, there was no place left to hide from their shots.
Poof!
One elven ranger was shot in the abdon, lost his balance in pain, and fell from the giant tree.
Grab him!
Doluka seized his hand, pulling him back up with all her strength.
"Can you hold on?"
Doluka asked. The ranger imdiately yanked the arrow from his abdon and drank from the Spring of Life.
"I'll manage!"
"Then let's move!"
With that, Doluka led the four rangers to leap to another Elf Tree and then down to the ground behind it.
"They're over there! Don't let them get away!"
The soldiers surrounded them. Doluka led her group racing toward the camp's edge, intending to leap over the wall and escape the camp.
Once out in the vast sea of trees, it would be very hard to find the elves again.
Seeing this, cliff pulled over the mage 'Flosa' and ordered:
"Quick, use magic to stop them!"
"......"
"Damn it, do you want to face a military tribunal?!"
Cliff had had enough of this guy. Hearing the officer's threat, flosa silently apologized in his heart.
"Oh great fla spirit, grant
the power to burn all things—Fla Impact!"
A ball of fire shot from Flosa's hand, flying straight toward Doluka's group, already atop the wooden wall.
Three had already jumped down, but Doluka and another wounded ranger had just reached the wall's edge.
"Go!"
She pushed the wounded ranger off just as the fireball smashed into the wall—Flosa had deliberately aid slightly off target.
Boom!
The fireball exploded, blasting the wooden wall black. Doluka herself was blasted off the wall.
Clutching her blood-soaked thigh, Doluka had avoided the direct blast, but was still caught in the explosion. A splinter of wood stabbed into her leg.
Gazing at the approaching human soldiers, Doluka knew—she would not be able to run.
