"Thank you." Sun Qing accepted the two packets of wedding candy. Lowering her head, with Zhao Xiangqian looking at her so intently, her face blushed slightly, holding the bright red candy, unsure of what to say.
In the room, only the occasional crackle of burning charcoal could be heard.
"Try the candy, it’s really sweet." Zhao Xiangqian held a warm cup, which ward his hands.
Noticing Sun Qing’s unease, Zhao Xiangqian broke the silence.
"Okay." Only then did Sun Qing take one out, unwrapped it and put it into her mouth. The sweetness made her a bit dazed, as it had been a long ti since she last had candy.
"Sweet, right?" Zhao Xiangqian chuckled.
When he picked up the bride, he tasted one himself, and it was especially sweet. He thought Sun Qing would definitely like it too.
Thus, when grabbing the candy, Zhao Xiangqian didn’t hold back at all; these two packages were much more than the official wedding candy.
"Sweet." Sun Qing smiled, looked up, her gaze quietly landing on Zhao Xiangqian’s face, she asked, "Was it a wedding for your comrade today? It must have been lively, right?"
"Exactly, it was really lively. They both got married at the sa ti, and the whole company was bustling." Zhao Xiangqian had a lot to say on this topic.
In the room, it was warm and cozy, with Zhao Xiangqian talking most of the ti, Sun Qing occasionally responding, creating a very cozy atmosphere.
Unknowingly, it was already midnight. Zhao Xiangqian looked at the ti, reluctantly bade goodbye, saying, "I’m heading back to the company. Lock the door tight, and if anything’s wrong, call the company."
Zhao Xiangqian paused, then corrected himself, "If there’s really sothing wrong, just shout. My company is far, and if anything happens, I won’t make it in ti. You two girls here, be mindful of safety."
"Make sure the door is locked."
"Don’t ever open the door for strangers knocking, got it?"
In the courtyard, Zhao Xiangqian checked the courtyard gate once more, ensuring it was securely locked before urging Sun Qing to return to her room.
"Be careful when you climb over the wall. I’ll go back once you leave." Sun Qing initially wanted Zhao Xiangqian to leave through the front door, but he insisted, saying he was adept at climbing walls.
Sun Qing understood Zhao Xiangqian’s concern for them, and her tone softened, telling him, "You better hurry along. It’s quite late."
"It’s alright."
Zhao Xiangqian was reluctant to leave, saying, "I’m leaving, you should go inside. It’s cold outside."
With Sun Qing watching, Zhao Xiangqian naturally wanted to appear more composed, but with his beloved watching, he got nervous and made a fool of himself.
"Be careful." Sun Qing’s heart was in her throat, afraid he might hurt himself in a fall.
"No problem, no problem." Zhao Xiangqian quickly got back up, silently cheering himself on. He turned back, smiling at Sun Qing, saying, "I was just warming up."
Sun Qing smiled, not revealing Zhao Xiangqian’s bluff, watching as he nimbly climbed up the wall with a leap. He sat on the wall, glanced outside to ensure no one was there, then turned to wave at Sun Qing, signaling her to go inside.
Sun Qing ignored him, stood at the doorway, watching Zhao Xiangqian on the wall. Though it wasn’t a full moon, the moon was bright enough for her to clearly see Zhao Xiangqian, his face wearing a smile, even his eyes were smiling.
Perhaps Zhao Xiangqian’s appearance wasn’t the best, just proper, but his smile was infectious. Despite being twenty-seven or eight, he seed like an eighteen-year-old boy.
"Safe travels." Sun Qing used her words to send Zhao Xiangqian off.
Zhao Xiangqian, encouraged, smiled even brighter. Though reluctant, he had to leave, carefully climbing down the wall without making a sound, walking through the deserted alley. Despite the cold wind, his heart felt warm.
"That’s wonderful."
"She smiled at ."
Zhao Xiangqian spread his arms, sprinting outward, letting the chilly wind blow over him, yet his heart was ablaze.

Jianan Prefecture.
Ti rewinds to when Zhao Xiangqian left.
Tang Yue was suddenly kissed, witnessed by others, embarrassed and annoyed. But looking at ng Siyu’s drunken state, she couldn’t scold him, even if she did, it was useless. No matter what she said, ng Siyu would reply, "Wifey is great, I’m happy."
It took all her strength to get ng Siyu back to the room; she was exhausted.
She was thankful that Mo Xiaolin and father-in-law ng Jin didn’t see it, otherwise, she’d be too embarrassed to face anyone!
"No wonder you don’t usually drink!"
"You turn into a child once drunk."
Tang Yue took off ng Siyu’s shoes, sat by the bed, and undressed him. However, drunk as he was, ng Siyu was utterly uncooperative. She had no choice, after removing his shoes, climbed onto the bed, using all her strength to finally get his clothes off.
"ng Siyu, if you drink again, I won’t let you back into the room." Tang Yue, panting, exclaid, taking care of a drunk person was truly exhausting. Despite the room being warr than outside, with so many clothes on, one couldn’t sleep.
"Wifey, don’t be mad, it’s not good looking." ng Siyu grinned, with an outstretched arm, pulled Tang Yue into his embrace, hugged her tightly, kissed her cheek, saying, "A kiss and no more anger."
Tang Yue: "..."
This is clearly how he coaxed their daughter!
Whenever Chenchen cried, ng Siyu would also kiss Chenchen’s face, then sweetly say, "A kiss and no more anger."
"ng Siyu, are you pretending to be drunk?" Tang Yue narrowed her eyes, studying ng Siyu.
"I’m not drunk." ng Siyu flipped over, pinning her down, his drunken eyes blinking, saying, "Wifey, I’m not drunk, or, you can sll."
ng Siyu leaned in for her to sll, perhaps too close, lips touched Tang Yue’s.
"Wifey’s lips sll sweet."
"Like candy, delicious."
ng Siyu gave Tang Yue no chance to speak, devouring her lips like they were delicious treats.
"Delicious."
"..."
"Did wifey eat candy? I want so too."
"..."
"Fragrant."
"..."
"Hey, where’s the milk from?"
"..."
Tang Yue almost kicked ng Siyu off the bed. The milk ant for Zaozao and Chenchen ended up being devoured by ng Siyu, and even she was left with nothing by him.
Before passing out from exhaustion, Tang Yue’s mind was still pondering, wasn’t he supposed to be drunk?
If he’s drunk, how does he have the energy to be so lively?
Is ng Siyu truly drunk or just faking it?
Tang Yue, with such doubts, drifted to sleep. When she woke up the next morning, ng Siyu was already gone.
