Zhang Hualian was not open to any discussion on this point.
Tang Yue sighed helplessly. Wu Xin gathered the things and said, "No worries, so of these things won’t spoil. Once the child is born, you can eat them."
"That’s right." Zhang Hualian nodded in agreent and said to Wu Xin, "We still appreciate you rembering our Xiao Yue and buying so much for her."
"Aunt Tang, no need to thank ." Wu Xin felt a bit uneasy. Tang Yue was her employer, and doing these things was only right. Besides, she had been in Sea City all this ti, and Tang Yue continued to pay her salary.
Tang Yue quietly continued her sketching. Since she couldn’t eat what she wanted, she decided not to think about it.
The hospital ward was bustling with people. Qin Anyu brought the kids to visit her, and her little aunt Wei Jiajia also ca with her two children.
Aunt Lian, who hadn’t been in Jing City for even a day, ca yesterday and again today.
This ti, Old Sir Lian didn’t co.
"Aunt, how is Grandpa?" Tang Yue asked. Traveling from Sea City to Jing City, even by plane, was quite exhausting, not to ntion Grandpa Lian’s age.
"Your grandfather is doing well. He originally wanted to visit the hospital, but then he saw the yard of the place we were staying didn’t have any flowers or plants. So, early this morning, he dragged Gu Chun to the flower and bird market." Lian Tong was fully aware of her father’s hobby.
Lian Tong had initially planned to spruce up the villa’s plants and flowers but decided against it. Her father enjoyed the process of planting flowers and plants rather than just admiring them.
Therefore, Lian Tong deliberately left the gardening to Old Sir Lian.
"Grandpa likes flowers and plants. That’s great. Grandpa ng also loves flowers and plants." Tang Yue, for so reason, recalled the last ti she went to have dinner at Mr. ng’s house. The flowers and plants there were also ticulously cared for.
"Grandpa ng, is he Si Yu’s grandfather, the legendary Old Master ng?" Lian Tong’s eyes glead slightly, having vaguely heard about previous events.
"Yes." Tang Yue nodded, changing the topic, "Aunt, is that a sweater in your bag?"
Tang Yue hadn’t noticed at first, but the knitting needle sticking out of the small bag made it hard not to.
"Yes, I want your mom to teach how to tell the front from the back." Lian Tong was greatly interested in knitting and, now that she was back in Jing City, naturally wanted to figure it out.
Tang Yue: "..."
"By the way, how co I don’t see Sister-in-law Tang today?" Lian Tong looked around and didn’t see Zhang Hualian.
"Aunt, my mother-in-law is at the hospital today. If you want to find my mom, you’ll need to go to my house," Tang Yue reminded her.
Zhang Hualian and Mo Xiaolin took turns at the hospital, which allowed Zhang Hualian to occasionally do so housework at ho.
"I see," Lian Tong was a bit disappointed but quickly cheered up, "No worries, I’ll co again tomorrow. Xiao Yue, you’ve been pregnant for over eight months now, nearly nine. You must be due soon, right?"
"Yes, very soon." Tang Yue smiled, more keenly aware as a mother of how playful the two kids were inside her belly.
After so conversation between the aunt and niece, Mo Xiaolin brought over the food. It was cooked by Mo Xiaolin herself, and she had specially prepared fish soup today. The creamy white broth had a delicious flavor.
"Mom, this is my aunt, Lian Tong," Tang Yue introduced. "This is my mother-in-law, Mo Xiaolin."
"Hello, dear aunt!"
Mo Xiaolin smiled as she placed the fish soup on the table nearby. Realizing her last na was Lian, she knew Lian Tong was Tang Yue’s biological father’s sister.
"Ugh..."
Upon slling the fish soup, Lian Tong’s stomach churned, and she felt like vomiting. She had initially intended to greet Tang Yue’s mother-in-law but couldn’t hold back.
From the washroom, the sound of Lian Tong retching could be heard.
"Aunt, are you okay?" Tang Yue, unable to get up, worried anxiously.
Mo Xiaolin, also concerned, stepped forward and asked, "What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
"I’m fine. The sll of the fish soup just made a bit queasy." Lian Tong tried to laugh but as a gust of wind carried the fragrance of the soup to her nose, she retched once more.
On the hospital bed, Tang Yue’s eyes flickered. Ever since Lian Tong had a miscarriage because of Lian Qingqing earlier this year, there hadn’t been any good news. It had been half a year; could it be that Aunt was pregnant?
Tang Yue was so excited she almost blurted it out but hesitated, fearing she might be mistaken and make her aunt happy for no reason.
Tang Yue quietly said to Mo Xiaolin, "Mom, my aunt might be pregnant, but I’m afraid it might be for nothing. Can you accompany my aunt to the obstetrics and gynecology departnt for a check-up later?"
"No problem." With her gentle nature, this small task was of no issue for Mo Xiaolin.
After a while, when Lian Tong ca out, Tang Yue suggested she go for a check-up. Lian Tong waved her hands repeatedly, saying, "Xiao Yue, your aunt’s health isn’t that poor. It might just be the cold from the flights these days."
Tang Yue insisted on the check-up.
Mo Xiaolin also persuaded her gently, and Lian Tong reluctantly agreed to go along. But upon reaching the obstetrics and gynecology departnt, Lian Tong felt like she had gone to the wrong place, until Mo Xiaolin said seriously, "Let’s check everything. Let’s start here and then go to the gastroenterology departnt."
The gentle words from Mo Xiaolin reminded Lian Tong of Zhang Hualian, so she didn’t refuse.
Once the doctor confird her pregnancy, Lian Tong was left in shock.
Dazedly returning to the ward, Tang Yue had been waiting for the news.
"Xiao Yue, you guessed correctly. Your aunt is indeed pregnant." Mo Xiaolin congratulated her.
Tang Yue was so excited she almost jumped up. She quickly said, "Mom, could you please call my uncle and ask him to co pick up my aunt?"
She was worried her overly excited aunt might have an accident on the way back, plus the shoes her aunt wore—extrely high heels—could easily lead to a sprain.
"Okay, okay." Mo Xiaolin considered Lian Tong’s age; it was understandable why she was so happy to be pregnant so late.
Using Tang Yue’s phone, Mo Xiaolin called Gu Chun.
Gu Chun, thinking sothing had happened to Lian Tong, rushed to the ward at breakneck speed. Seeing Lian Tong sitting there grinning foolishly, Gu Chun finally breathed a sigh of relief. He approached and said, "Tongtong."
"Gu Chun." Hearing his voice, Lian Tong excitedly threw herself into his arms and exclaid, "I’m pregnant. You’re going to be a dad!"
Initially worried that the paper in Lian Tong’s hand indicated so grave illness, Gu Chun’s smile nearly reached his ears upon hearing she was pregnant. The excited couple forgot they weren’t alone in the ward.
Tang Yue quietly shared the story of Lian Tong and Gu Chun, including the previous miscarriage incident, though she left out the part involving Lian Qingqing. After hearing, Mo Xiaolin reflected, "No wonder they’re so happy. Good things co to those who wait. They’ll be happy."
