ng Jin couldn't help but hold his breath, not daring to speak or make a sound, for fear of disturbing the doctor's diagnosis.
Until the doctor ca out, ng Jin couldn't help stepping forward to ask: "How is he?" His voice was trembling, tinged with a trace of trepidation and anxiety.
"Logically, he should have woken up by now, but..." The doctor's words made ng Jin stagger.
"Mr. ng."
Zhao Xiangqian, being the closest, caught ng Jin with swift steps, preventing him from falling onto the ground.
Li Wei's eyes instantly reddened, and he slapped himself hard, reproaching himself: "It's all my fault, if not for …"
"Da Wei." Yan Dong clutched Li Wei tightly, his lips quivering severely, not managing to utter a single word.
"He's awake."
The nurse's voice ca from the ward, sounding like heavenly music.
ng Jin instinctively looked towards ng Siyu, whose eyelids though not yet open were trembling as if he was about to wake up.
"Si Yu, wake up quickly, you can't leave and your mom, you can't leave Xiao Yue behind."
ng Jin rushed towards ng Siyu without a second thought, fearing the worst if ng Siyu couldn't wake up now.
When 'Xiao Yue' was ntioned, ng Siyu's eyelids noticeably trembled even more, and his hand showed so reaction. ng Jin said excitedly, "Si Yu, Xiao Yue has been waiting for you all this ti. What will she do if you leave her behind?"
"Such a good daughter-in-law, I can't bear to just hand her over to soone else," ng Jin continued to stimulate ng Siyu.
"Dad, Xiao Yue is my wife, why would you hand her over to anyone?" ng Siyu's voice was weak, but his spirit was strong. Slowly, he opened his eyes.
ng Jin's tears flowed down the mont he saw Si Yu's eyes move.
The dical staff began to usher ng Jin and the others out; though ng Siyu had woken up, he still needed careful nursing to avoid infections, which would be quite troubleso.
Knowing that ng Siyu was safe, ng Jin and the others were greatly relieved. ng Jin asked Li Wei and the others to rest, and then summoned so people over before he went to the nurse's station and made a phone call.
Mo Xiaolin had just gotten up and was about to have breakfast when she heard from ng Jin that ng Siyu was injured, and she imdiately beca anxious.
ng Jin quickly reassured, "Xiaolin, don't worry, Si Yu is not in life-threatening danger. Be careful on the road and bring so breakfast."
"What do you an he's not in life-threatening danger, you think the one injured isn't your son?" Mo Xiaolin, unaware of yesterday's peril, felt a surge of anger upon hearing ng Jin's words that she couldn't express.
And so, Mo Xiaolin hurried to the hospital, where she found ng Siyu lying in the ICU, having taken dicine and fallen asleep again; her tears instantly started to fall. She asked, "When did the accident happen? Why are you only telling now?"
Mo Xiaolin looked at ng Jin with a grievous gaze, noticing his bloodshot appearance and what she had just learned from the doctor, she realized ng Jin had kept the news from her to spare her the worry and sleeplessness.
"Si Yu is already alright. If I had inford you yesterday, could you have slept well?" ng Jin retorted.
Mo Xiaolin beca speechless; indeed, if she had known about her son's uncertain fate yesterday, she wouldn't have had the mind to eat or sleep, and it would have been fortunate if she didn't faint.
"Alright, now that you're refreshed, you can keep watch here during the day. I have matters to attend to at the company, so from now on, I'll be counting on you." ng Jin took big bites of his stead bun; he was unable to eat much last night and was starving by now.
"Brother Jin, you didn't sleep all night, and you still have to go to the company today?" Mo Xiaolin handed him a cup of soy milk and said, "Eat slowly, don't choke."
"There are things at the company that I need to deal with." ng Jin replied nonchalantly: "It's fine, just one night without sleep, I can handle it."
"You…" Mo Xiaolin looked at ng Jin with a concerned gaze. She wished he wouldn't leave now that her son was just starting to get better, but with matters at the company, she couldn't hold him back.
All Mo Xiaolin could say was: "Don't overdo it. Try to rest at noon if you can, and co to the hospital for dinner. I'll go ho and stew so bone soup for you."
"Okay, I'll definitely co over." ng Jin nodded affirmatively.
After ng Jin left, Mo Xiaolin waited outside. ng Siyu's condition had stabilized, and he was transferred to a regular ward in the afternoon, although due to the high number of patients in the hospital, he was placed in a private room.
"Siyu, I'm going to go ho and make so soup to bring over. If you need anything, call for a nurse." Mo Xiaolin earnestly instructed.
"Mom, I'm not a kid anymore, I'm fine." ng Siyu couldn't help but laugh. Mo Xiaolin was treating him as if he was a three-year-old.
After Mo Xiaolin left, the ward beca very quiet. ng Siyu gazed out of the window peacefully, thinking about hearing Xiao Yue's voice before entering the operating room; his mood was very good.
His wife really was his lucky star; it was the necklace she gave him that saved his life.
If it weren't for the water droplet-shaped pendant being in the pocket right over his chest, right where it had grazed past, it could have been directly over his heart.
It's a pity; he didn't know whether the photo was damaged.
ng Siyu looked around, and his clothes from the injury weren't in sight. When Li Wei ca over, ng Siyu imdiately asked: "Da Wei, where are my clothes? The ones I wore yesterday."
"Is Brother ng asking about this?" Li Wei pulled out a black necklace from his pocket and handed it over.
ng Siyu's eyes lit up instantly.
"Brother ng, the pendant is destroyed, and the photo inside is gone as well," Li Wei said regretfully.
ng Siyu took the pendant and tenderly rubbed it in his hands. Indeed, as Li Wei said, it was deford. He felt troubled, how would he tell Tang Yue that the pendant was ruined?
"Da Wei, go and look around to see if you can find an identical pendant for sale." ng Siyu handed the pendant to Li Wei and hurriedly urged him out.
Li Wei wanted to ask about ng Siyu's health but found himself pushed out bewilderingly.
Dinner was in the hospital.
Mo Xiaolin stewed bone soup; the family of three were reunited in the hospital, and ng Jin was in a very good mood. ng Siyu's condition had stabilized, and now it was just a matter of good rest and recovery.
"Siyu, should we tell Xiao Yue about your injury?" Mo Xiaolin had just started to broach the topic.
ng Siyu quickly shook his head and said: "Mom, please don't tell Xiao Yue. It would just make her worry. She's in F-country to study, not sightsee. Her daily schedule is very busy."
"Mom, my injury is nothing serious, just so rest and I'll be hopping around again." ng Siyu had a firm belief in his heart that he couldn't ntion this matter at all. He had promised Xiao Yue that he wouldn't get hurt, and now he was almost killed. If Xiao Yue found out, he wouldn't dare et her gaze.
