Tang Yue's eyes shifted slightly, and she blinked, signaling the man to let her go.

"Do not make a sound," the man warned, his presence intimidating, almost tangible.

"Are you Gu Chun?" Tang Yue asked, turning around, and indeed, it was the man she had bumped into earlier in the day.

"What is your relationship with Lian Tong?"

Gu Chun was not surprised. Anyone who could wear this bracelet must be related to Lian Tong.

"She is my aunt," Tang Yue answered, knowing that he did not deny it, she then knew he truly was Gu Chun, saying, "Aunt Lian has been looking for you. Since you care about her bracelet, why haven't you t her?"

"Why did she give you this bracelet?" Gu Chun asked instead of answering.

Tang Yue glanced at him and said, "I asked first."

"Are you Lian He's biological daughter? You do resemble him sowhat, but why use the surna Tang?" Gu Chun countered, having done so basic investigation before coming here.

"Aunt Lian has never married in her life; she has been waiting for you. Can you bear to let her grow old alone?" Tang Yue asked again. She had felt sympathy for Lian Tong when she heard about this from Lian Qingyang; Lian Tong spent her whole life unmarried waiting for Gu Chun.

"She shouldn't have waited." A flicker of pain crossed Gu Chun's eyes.

Tang Yue wanted to say more when there was a sudden noise from outside. Gu Chun, who had just been in front of her, vanished in an instant. If not for the shaking window, she might have thought it was all an illusion.

Did Gu Chun really co?

Tang Yue raised the four-leaf clover bracelet in her hand, pondering why Gu Chun cared so much about the bracelet. It clearly didn't seem like he didn't care about Aunt Lian, so why was he avoiding her?

He said: Aunt Lian shouldn't have waited?

Why shouldn't she wait? Is there sothing unknown here?

"Xiao Yue," Zhang Hualian's voice sounded from outside. She asked, "Xiao Yue, who are you talking to?"

"Nobody," Tang Yue quickly replied. She opened the door and saw Zhang Hualian peering inside, saying, "Xiao Yue, according to old customs, it's best not to see each other three days before your wedding."

"Ah..."

Tang Yue looked confusedly at Zhang Hualian.

Zhang Hualian wandered around the room, didn't see anyone, and finally said with a smile, "Tomorrow you'll get your marriage certificate, and legally recognized as husband and wife, no need to fuss about tonight, right?"

Zhang Hualian spoke with implied aning.

At this point, Tang Yue finally understood what Zhang Hualian ant. She thought that Mo Siyu had co just now?

"Mom, there really was no one just now," Tang Yue said, feeling sowhat guilty. It indeed wasn't Mo Siyu who ca just now, but Gu Chun did, and that was true.

"Okay, okay, okay," Zhang Hualian didn't press further, she added, "Xiao Yue, sleep early today to save your energy for tomorrow."

"I know, Mom, you should also go to bed early," Tang Yue said, aware of how busy Zhang Hualian had been these past days. She was even more determined to take good care of her parents.

"Okay."

Zhang Hualian repeatedly reminded Tang Yue to rest early as she left.

Tang Yue closed the door and took a deep breath, turning to look at the swaying window. She wondered why Gu Chun didn't let Aunt Lian wait.

Moreover, under the light just now, Gu Chun looked rather frightening, especially thin, his cheeks almost devoid of flesh. Compared to the cold and proud Aunt Lian, Gu Chun looked much older and more haggard.

Although Aunt Lian was not one to judge by appearances, from Lian Qingyang's introduction, Gu Chun was supposed to be a striking figure.

Yet, the person she just saw didn't fit that image at all.

What exactly had happened over all these years?

Tang Yue was completely baffled. Suddenly, she felt a force around her waist and her heart skipped a beat from the shock, a familiar scent approached her, and there he was in a white shirt.

"How did you co here?" Tang Yue looked up and saw Mo Siyu, no, ng Siyu, whom she was going to register the marriage with tomorrow.

ng Siyu bowed his head and sealed her incessant lips with a kiss, his hand gripping her waist, drawing her body tight against his.

"Mmm~"

Tang Yue gradually sank into the eager yet passionate kiss, the scent of his body intoxicating. Even though she hadn't drunk a sip of alcohol, she felt a bit tipsy.

"Xiao Yue." Mo Siyu's husky voice resounded, his forehead against hers, his nose brushing hers, his dark eyes locked with her bright eyes, the depths of those eyes shining like brilliant lights or like vast whirlpools seeming to pull her in entirely.

"Weren't you supposed to not co today?" Tang Yue's voice softened, her bright eyes filled with affection, more charming than usual.

Her soft voice was another kind of tornt to his ears.

If only today was August 3rd, how perfect would that be?

Mo Siyu raised his hand to lift her dark hair and tucked it behind her ear, saying, "I'll pick you up at 8 tomorrow morning."

"Isn't that too early?" Tang Yue blinked her big eyes. Discover more novels at novel✶fire

Going to register the marriage first thing in the early morning, isn't that too… hurried?

"Mmm…"

Suddenly, Tang Yue felt a nibble on the tip of her nose.

"If the doors could open after twelve, I'd surely go then," Mo Siyu said aningfully, only having her na rightfully next to his as his wife could he feel at ease.

"The registry will surely be open at twelve, but…" Tang Yue responded without much thought, but halfway through, she realized he wasn't referring to twelve noon, but to midnight.

Tang Yue wished she could cover her face. Uncle Mo, Uncle Mo, you are really too anxious, aren't you?

ng Siyu pulled her to sit on the edge of the bed, now stopping his actions, calmly holding her and asked, "Have these days been very tough?"

"It's okay, my parents are handling most of it." Tang Yue earnestly replied, "By the way, about Grandpa ng…"

"He will co," ng Siyu interjected: "I ca today specifically to let you know, after all, my dad invited quite a few friends. If Mr. ng doesn't show up tomorrow, it wouldn't look good for my dad, Xiao Yue…"

"I was just about to ntion that," Tang Yue cut him off: "I was thinking, if everyone is coming and only Grandpa ng is missing, it wouldn't feel right."

"As long as he truly realizes his mistakes and stops letting others bully you, I won't mind anymore." ng Siyu's rough hand touched her tender cheek. Her blushing cheeks looked beautiful, and her plump lips seed soft and were even sweeter to taste.
