ng Jin kept glancing up at the surgery indicator light. He knew Zhou Lai was watching, and he said, "Siyu is the son of Xiaolin and ."

"Was he born to your sister-in-law?" Zhou Lai's jaw almost dropped in shock.

Realizing his words might have co off the wrong way after a delayed reaction, he corrected himself, "I an, when you and your sister-in-law parted ways initially, she was already pregnant?"

"Uh-huh." ng Jin nodded, his gaze turning reminiscent, "She was not far along then, and even I didn't know. If I had known she was pregnant, I..."

Before he could finish, ng Jin cut himself off. Given the circumstances at the ti, he had no other choice. He couldn't ignore the life or death situation of the ng family.

"Brother ng, now that you've found your sister-in-law and have a son, isn't that even more perfect? When we have so ti, let's all have a al together; I haven't even t the sister-in-law yet." Zhou Lai suggested.

"Sure." Thinking of his wife, ng Jin's face softened even more.

With soone to talk to, ng Jin's anxious heart gradually settled down. Mo Siyu hadn't co, and ng Jin understood his reasons all too well—this was sothing anyone would find difficult to forgive.

The worry was, if Mr. ng couldn't make it through, wouldn't it an his grandchildren would miss saying their final goodbyes?

ng Jin wanted to go find Mo Xiaolin but then thought of her being busy and reconsidered, abandoning the idea.

Unexpectedly, Mo Xiaolin, worried about ng Jin breaking today's promise to return ho, called the office. Upon hearing that ng Jin's father was critically ill and hospitalized, she couldn't sit still any longer and took a cab to the hospital by herself. The source of this content ɪs novelꞁire

Mo Xiaolin asked around upon arriving and before she had found the place, ng Jin saw her at the ergency room entrance.

"Xiaolin." Having waited for a long ti, ng Jin thought his eyes were playing tricks on him when he saw Mo Xiaolin.

"Brother Jin." Mo Xiaolin approached with concern, "How's your father? I called your company, and they said your father is critically ill. How is he now...?"

Mo Xiaolin glanced at the still-lit surgery light, her face full of worry.

"Xiaolin, it's thoughtful of you to co." ng Jin took Mo Xiaolin's hand and sat her down, "He's been in there for several hours now. It should be alright."

When he first arrived at the hospital, and those urgent notices were handed out, nobody had co out yet, which ant the doctors were still treating his father and he was temporarily safe.

Zhou Lai moved to the farthest bench. Seeing Mo Xiaolin, he finally understood why ng Jin wouldn't even glance at his cousin.

Originally, Zhou Lai thought his cousin, despite being married once and having a child, had a nice temper, a pleasing appearance, and a decent job; it seed like a good match, so he tried to set them up.

Now, looking at Mo Xiaolin, he finally understood why ng Jin hadn't stopped thinking about her.

Mo Xiaolin was wearing a dark purple qipao with subtly embroidered patterns, exceptionally beautiful, and it enhanced her grace. If no one ntioned it, he wouldn't believe Mo Xiaolin had a twenty-six-year-old son.

"So, this is the sister-in-law?" Zhou Lai looked at Mo Xiaolin, smiling, "I'm Zhou Lai, grew up with Brother ng. Sister-in-law is really pretty, no wonder Brother ng all these years, wouldn't accept anyone but you."

"Hello." Although a bit shy, Mo Xiaolin still carried herself with an easy grace, looking great.

After so casual talk, Mo Xiaolin sensed sothing was amiss and asked, "Where's Siyu? Why didn't he co?"

Even if, even if he still hasn't acknowledged the ng Family, but Mr. ng, how could he not be there when his own grandfather is critically ill?

"Xiaolin, Siyu's company has just received a big order; he's probably too busy to make it." ng Jin explained, not wanting Mo Xiaolin to quarrel with Mo Siyu over this.

"It's really unlike Siyu to not stop by even if he's unhappy about sothing."

Just as Mo Xiaolin was muttering and thinking about calling Mo Siyu, the doctor ca out, explaining that Mr. ng was lucky to be saved this ti, but he might be bedridden from now on.

"Being alive is good enough."

ng Jin watched Mr. ng being wheeled into the Intensive Care Unit, saw him riddled with tubes, and sighed with mixed emotions, yet, there were still many matters waiting for him to resolve.

Mo Xiaolin was originally supposed to take care of Mr. ng here, but ng Jin sent her back, saying, "Xiaolin, my dad is a man; it's not convenient for you to take care of him. The hospital has professional caretakers who will attend to my dad properly, don't worry."

"By the way, the furniture for Siyu's marriage house has been bought too. Take another good look, see what's missing. It's already June, there are only a few months left before the wedding, we can't have the house unprepared by then."

ng Jin's reasoning was very valid.

Mo Xiaolin had no chance to refuse at all.

In the following days, Mo Siyu didn't show up at all, while Mo Xiaolin brought soup to nourish Mr. ng every day; yet, it was always untily as Mr. ng would be asleep, and Mo Xiaolin hadn't managed to speak a word to him as of now.

As soon as Mo Xiaolin would leave, Mr. ng would open his eyes. Looking at the steaming bowl of soup, fragrant and inviting, the remorse at the bottom of his heart had never ceased since he regained consciousness.

"Don't go."

Suddenly, Mr. ng spoke out, his gaze fixed on the familiar figure by the door, wishing he could take a few more looks.

Mr. ng tried to sit up, but his body was completely immobile now.

"Old Qin."

Mo Siyu's voice, cold and distant, rang out as he halted his steps, pushed the door open, and entered the ward. He hurried over because he heard Mo Xiaolin was here and was afraid she would be at a disadvantage.

Little did he know, by the ti he arrived, Mo Xiaolin had already left.

Mr. ng looked at Mo Siyu with excitent. He hadn't thought in this direction before, but upon seeing Mo Siyu, he realized that Mo Siyu resembled ng Jin in many ways, especially with that stern expression, he looked even more like ng Jin.

"I'm sorry, I... I really never asked Qu Feng to do those things," Mr. ng said, his voice trembling. This was his grandson.

In the past, when he was with Mr. Qin, he often boasted about Mo Siyu, and especially when he saw ng Yanzhi, he would feel even more frustrated.

"Whether it's true or not, Qu Feng is still your man." Mo Siyu's expression remained cold.

Mr. ng felt disappointed but knew he was at fault first and foremost. He said, "I know I failed to discipline him; I'm wrong about this matter, but, I didn't know you were my grandson, I…"

"Old Sir ng, are you saying that you only feel it was wrong because I'm your grandson?" Mo Siyu interrupted him.
