Such a good business partner is truly hard to find even with a lantern in hand.
Compared to Mr. ng's dislike, ng Jin had nothing but praise for Mo Siyu, not to ntion ng Jin's proud deanor which made Mr. ng even more displeased.
Mr. ng glared at him and said, "ng Jin, are you still a father?"
"Of course, I am." ng Jin answered without a second thought.
Si Yu was his son; how could he not be happy about his son being so capable?
ng Jin had thought that he would never find Xiaolin in this lifeti and might have to live a lonely life. But to his amazent, not only did he find Xiaolin, but he also had such an outstanding son. These days, ng Jin felt that even in his dreams, he would wake up laughing.
"So, if you're a father, why don't you find Mo Siyu detestable, and instead praise him so much?" Mr. ng huffed coldly, "Yanzhi was raised by my side, not your foster child. If only you had paid a little more attention to Yanzhi over the years, he wouldn't have…"
Mr. ng didn't finish his sentence, but his aning was very clear. He regretted it; he knew he shouldn't bla his son, but he couldn't help it.
"Dad." ng Jin slightly constrained his smiling expression and looked at Mr. ng, genuinely not expecting that this matter, which he thought Mr. ng had gotten over, was still sothing Mr. ng blad Si Yu for.
"What happened with Yanzhi has nothing to do with Si Yu," ng Jin stated earnestly. "Yes, it was Si Yu who brought the matter to light. But Dad, have you ever thought that if it wasn't for Si Yu, soone else could have revealed it?"
"And besides, Yanzhi is the one who did sothing wrong, not Si Yu. It has nothing to do with him at all." ng Jin defended Mo Siyu word by word. When he spoke about Si Yu, his affectionate tone made it seem as if Si Yu were his son and Yanzhi was an outsider.
"ng Jin, no matter how good Mo Siyu is, he is not your son," Mr. ng said with a stern face.
ng Jin was about to tell Mr. ng that Si Yu was indeed his son.
However, Mr. ng didn't give him a chance to speak. He said, "I'm telling you, don't even think about acknowledging Si Yu as your godson. I am the first to disagree with that idea."
He knew that Mo Siyu had no father, only a mother.
"Dad, how could you think that?" ng Jin was taken aback by Mr. ng's words. Was he the kind of person who would just take a liking to soone else's child and then claim the child as his own?
"Don't think just because I'm old, I don't know anything," Mr. ng said irritably. "ng Jin, I heard that you've been very close to Mo Siyu lately. What, are you disregarding your own old father now?"
Though he was recuperating, it didn't an he was deaf.
"Dad, you are biased against Si Yu." ng Jin felt a headache coming on. Clearly, Si Yu was his own son, Mr. ng's own grandson, but Mr. ng's bias against Si Yu was just too strong.
"I am not biased," Mr. ng retorted coldly. "I know Yanzhi did wrong, but this kind of whistleblowing is a sign of poor character."
At this mont, Mr. ng completely forgot why Mo Siyu would expose ng Yanzhi's actions.
"Dad, if it wasn't for Yanzhi's treatnt of Xiao Yue..." Before ng Jin could finish his sentence, Mr. ng cut him off: "Get out."
"Dad." ng Jin wanted to defend Mo Siyu, but Mr. ng wouldn't listen to a word.
"If you don't want to anger to death, stop speaking well of him." Mr. ng clutched his chest, looking like he was gasping for breath.
Qu Feng hurried forward, patting Mr. ng's back gently. As an outsider, Qu Feng naturally had no place to intervene in the affairs between father and son, so he simply patted Mr. ng's back in silence.
"I won't say it, I won't," ng Jin dared not continue and could only calm Mr. ng's emotions before leaving.
As expected, the shipping company announced the winner of the bid was Mo Siyu.
Mr. ng was so furious upon seeing this that he spat blood, his precious Longjing tea before the rain.
Mr. ng walked away in a huff, and before he left, Old Qin even demanded the Longjing tea. It made Mr. ng feel even worse.
"Mo Siyu, well done." ng Jin looked at Mo Siyu with pride. Mo Siyu had done well indeed, truly making him, as a father, proud.
"Thank you." Mo Siyu also felt very pleased; after working so hard for so long, he finally achieved a satisfying result.
ng Jin praised him, bursting with pride, and yet at the sa ti, a sense of regret quietly erged in his heart. He had only heard from others how outstanding Mo Siyu was; he had never witnessed it firsthand and had missed everything since his son's childhood.
"I'm sorry." ng Jin's mood suddenly dipped, his eyes flashing with mixed emotions of guilt, self-bla, regret, and sorrow. Fresh chapters posted on novel~fire~net
Mo Siyu instantly understood what ng Jin ant. "You owe an apology to my mother; she waited for you her whole life." Mo Siyu looked up at the sky, images of Mo Xiaolin painstakingly raising him alone filled his mind.
Mo Xiaolin was attractive, and many decent n wanted to be with her. Even her two uncles had tried to persuade her, but Mo Xiaolin was resolute.
"Mo Siyu, I've missed out on so much ti with your mother. I'll definitely cherish the ti from now on," ng Jin said with a smile when he ntioned ng Xiaolin. After a silent mont, he added, "Your grandfather, my father, has so misunderstandings about you because of ng Yanzhi. Don't take it to heart."
"Because I have not married or had children for so many years, Yanzhi is like a grandson to my father, especially since he was raised by his side; naturally, their bond is strong," ng Jin explained, fearing that revealing his lineage in the future might spur Mr. ng to do sothing rash.
"If he knew about your true heritage, he would certainly be happy to have such an outstanding grandson." ng Jin said this, unsure whether he was speaking to Mo Siyu or to himself.
Mr. ng's recent behavior towards Mo Siyu was seen clearly by ng Jin, who felt even more guilty. If Mo Siyu had been raised by his side since childhood, Mr. ng would have been too busy doting on him to ever cause such trouble.
"It's getting late; I have many things to take care of when I go back, so I'll be leaving now." Mo Siyu ended the topic.
ng Jin watched his departing figure and sighed deeply. He hadn't yet had the chance to acknowledge his son, and he hoped his own father wouldn't beco an obstacle.
He must find a ti to lay things out with Mr. ng. Otherwise, if sothing happened, the relationship between Mr. ng and Mo Siyu might beco irreconcilable.
ng Jin thought this to himself, dusting the grass off his clothes, and feeling lonely thinking about returning to an empty ho. He couldn't help but miss his ho in Jianan Prefecture, where he could always see Mo Xiaolin's smile and a warm al, no matter when he returned.
