"Xiao Jin, it was my mistake." Old Master ng held the family portrait, his tears still hesitating to fall onto the photograph. Regretting deeply, his dear grandson, spoiled by his indulgence, had beco increasingly lawless, increasingly...
When Old Master ng saw the evidence brought by Mo Siyu, he truly felt the urge to strangle ng Yanzhi to death, but in the end, he couldn’t bring himself to do so.
Old Master ng dared not tell ng Jin about this. If ng Jin found out, he would probably disown Yanzhi imdiately.
Old Master ng thought it would be best to quickly send ng Yanzhi out of the country. Once abroad, if Yanzhi didn’t return, ng Jin wouldn’t be able to hold Yanzhi accountable.
As for the mistakes ng Yanzhi made, Old Master ng knew he would spend his life trying to make ands.
Dawn was breaking.
Old Master ng sat in the room, holding the family portrait on the recliner all night, in a half-awake state.
"Who are you? This is Mr. ng’s residence; no outsiders are allowed to intrude." Qu Feng’s voice rose from outside the house.
ng Yanzhi slept against the door all night and woke up instantly when he heard the noise.
Just as ng Yanzhi stood up, he saw uniford officers walk in, handcuffs in their hands.
"ng Yanzhi, co with us." They cuffed his wrists right away.
ng Yanzhi was still confused. He was supposed to leave the country today, how could he be arrested?
"Why are you arresting soone?" Qu Feng stepped forward, trying to stop them from taking Yanzhi away.
"What’s going on?"
Mr. ng opened the door, looking much disheveled after a night of poor sleep, his originally graying hair now unkempt. Seeing the handcuffs, Mr. ng’s pupils instantly constricted.
"Mr. ng," the officer explained respectfully, "We have received evidence that the car accident from ’88 was caused by ng Yanzhi, and yet soone else took the bla. Furthermore, multiple young girls have accused ng Yanzhi of kidnapping and causing serious injury, among other serious offenses. Therefore, Mr. ng, please forgive us."
"Take him away." With that command, they led him away.
Mr. ng’s body trembled.
"Mr. ng," Qu Feng quickly stepped forward to support him, comforting, "Mr. ng, there must be so mistake. Don’t worry, he will be fine."
"It’s over, all is lost." Mr. ng murmured, and at the mont he saw ng Yanzhi being taken away, he realized everything was ruined.
Mr. ng, covering his dizzy head, took so dicine with Qu Feng’s help, and sat down feeling the near-fainting sensation ease a bit.
"Mr. ng," Qu Feng stood beside, unsure of what to do.
Mr. ng picked up the phone, and after a long ti, Mo Siyu’s voice finally ca through on the other end.
"I am Mo Siyu." Mo Siyu’s icy voice traveled through the phone line.
With a ’snap’, Mr. ng slapped the armrest of the chair, gritting his teeth, "Mo Siyu, regarding our conversation that day, I thought we had reached an agreent. How can you go back on your word?"
"Yanzhi has been arrested, those were the evidences you presented, weren’t they?"
"Do you intend to doom Yanzhi?"
Mr. ng was agitated, and through the phone, Mo Siyu could sense Mr. ng’s expression.
Mo Siyu remained silent until Mr. ng finished speaking, then said, "Mr. ng, I think you misunderstood. When I said I trust you that day, it didn’t an I agree with your thods."
"What do you an?" Mr. ng’s voice deepened as he struggled to recall his conversation with Mo Siyu. Indeed, Mo Siyu had said ’I trust you’ but not that he agreed with the decision.
"Mr. ng, I respect you for being devoted to your grandson, but Mr. ng, even a prince must face punishnt for his cris, just like any commoner," Mo Siyu spoke calmly. "ng Yanzhi is your beloved grandson, but if he’s done sothing wrong, Mr. ng, it’s your duty to correct it, not to clean up after him."
"Are you really willing to tarnish the reputation and authority you’ve built over the years just for this adopted grandson?" Once Mo Siyu finished speaking, there was silence on the other end of the line; he continued: "Xiao Yue is my fiancée, this ti she was lucky to be unhard, but who can guarantee such good luck will strike my fiancée every ti?"
"If Mr. ng truly intends to take action against , Mo Siyu, for ng Yanzhi’s sake, then I have nothing to say, but..." Mo Siyu paused, then added, "Mr. ng, regarding this matter, please consider your biological son’s opinion."
With that, Mo Siyu didn’t say anything further and hung up the phone.
Initially, when he presented the evidence to Mr. ng, he was hoping that Mr. ng would punish ng Yanzhi severely, making him face justice. But who would have thought, after what Mr. ng had said, Mo Siyu imdiately changed his mind.
To catch ng Yanzhi, it had to be done when he least expected it; otherwise, if Mr. ng quietly sent him away, and Mo Siyu couldn’t leave the country, how could he get justice to be served in court?
After Mr. ng hung up, his eyes revealed utter dejection.
’Ring~ Ring~ Ring~’
The phone rang again, and as Mr. ng picked up, he heard the voice of his son, ng Jin, from the other end.
"Dad, you’re being foolish." There was anger in ng Jin’s voice, and without waiting for a reply, he continued, "Dad, you keep covering for ng Yanzhi’s faults. Just because you love him, are you going to endlessly cover up for him even if he’s a killer?"
"If that’s the case, Dad, I am truly disappointed."
ng Jin took a deep breath. He knew his father’s fondness for this adopted son had caused many disputes, but each ti he had given in because of Mr. ng. This ti, he wouldn’t compromise.
"Xiao Jin, what you’re saying is, you won’t deal with Yanzhi?" It took a while for Mr. ng to regain his composure.
"Of course. He’s an adult. He should be punished for his wrongdoings." After saying this, ng Jin hung up and imdiately prepared to leave for Jing City.
The last ti Yanzhi did sothing wrong, ng Jin had strongly warned him, revoked several of his properties, and even spoke to others about Yanzhi’s behavior, indicating that inheriting the ng Family was out of the question even though he was raised by Mr. ng for enjoynt.
He thought Yanzhi would restrain himself, but instead, he beca even more reckless.
ng Jin boarded the train to Jing City in a calm state.
At Jinghua University, Yu Zhaodi unexpectedly received a note, asking her if she wanted to sue ng Yanzhi.
