Feng Yongqing had never expected that Yu Zhaodi, who used to be timid and fearful, would suddenly muster up such great courage. Though she didn’t directly curse at ng Yanzhi’s face, it was almost the sa thing.
Who else has ever dared to speak to ng Yanzhi like this?
They said he was taken in by the ng Family.
Though that statent was true, and the matter itself was real, for ng Yanzhi, this was sothing utterly untouchable, sothing that no one dared to ntion without facing severe consequences.
"Ah..."
Yu Zhaodi suddenly scread.
ng Yanzhi’s towering figure approached, his large hand gripping her chin. His pupils contracted as he looked down at Yu Zhaodi, with her words undeniably exposing ng Yanzhi’s most embarrassing secrets under the glaring sunlight.
"Heh, are you thinking about killing to silence again?" Yu Zhaodi, struggling to speak while looking up, her expression resolute.
ng Yanzhi felt sothing amiss, then suddenly, pain stabbed through his abdon.
Lowering his head, ng Yanzhi saw a dagger plunged into his stomach, and copious amounts of blood flowed out.
He was filled with disbelief.
Subconsciously loosening his grip, ng Yanzhi pushed Yu Zhaodi away.
Yet, Yu Zhaodi clung firmly to ng Yanzhi’s hand, she pulled out the dagger, seemingly indifferent to the blood on her hands, and raised her hand to stab again, as if only by doing so could she release the anger in her heart.
"Mr. ng." Feng Yongqing reacted a little slowly, letting out a gasp when he realized ng Yanzhi was stabbed. As Yu Zhaodi raised her hand again, Feng Yongqing leaped forward from behind, snatched the dagger from her hand, and then kicked Yu Zhaodi aside.
Feng Yongqing approached anxiously, saying, "Mr. ng, are you... okay?"
"Yu Zhaodi, when have I ever silenced soone by killing them?" ng Yanzhi, clutching his wound, stared intensely at Yu Zhaodi. He had always felt sothing was amiss with Yu Zhaodi, and now, he finally understood why.
In pain, Yu Zhaodi struggled to get up, with slight bruises evident on her chin from ng Yanzhi’s tight grip.
Yu Zhaodi did not respond to ng Yanzhi, her eyes fixed on his abdon. She had not hit the right spot just now; if only she had aid slightly higher.
Feng Yongqing’s eyes flickered as he stepped forward quickly, grabbing Yu Zhaodi, and slapping her twice, saying, "Mr. ng is asking you a question; why aren’t you responding?"
Yu Zhaodi bit her lip, remaining silent.
ng Yanzhi, while taking a dical kit out of his backpack and treating his wound, said, "Yu Zhaodi, even if you don’t speak, I can still find out."
"ng Yanzhi, isn’t ruining my family enough? You want to harm us more?" At the ntion of him going to investigate, Yu Zhaodi shuddered to think what her grandmother would endure if she knew.
"When have I ever hard you?" ng Yanzhi retorted.
The Yu Family?
ng Yanzhi tried hard to recall but couldn’t rember anything.
"Two years ago, in Hu Province, Baijia County." Yu Zhaodi said through clenched teeth, reminding him. She had dreamt of revenge, and had even been admitted to Jinghua University in Jing City, only to find that her nesis didn’t even rember her.
A chill ran through Yu Zhaodi’s heart.
"You..." ng Yanzhi, a flicker of realization crossing his mind, asked, "Are you from that family I hit with my car?"
Yu Zhaodi, upon seeing him finally rember, felt as though she was transported back to those past scenes.
It was almost Chinese New Year, she happily went to the county fair with her parents and bought a lot of things. Baijia County had a newly built road, wide and straight. That evening, they stayed at her aunt’s house. Her father hadn’t received the money for his work yet, despite repeatedly asking for it. She even rembered her father’s worries at that ti.
Her parents went out again that night to ask for the money. She was already eighteen then, a high school junior. Knowing how anxious her father was about the wages, she secretly followed them, hoping to see if she could help in any way.
But, that night, Yu Zhaodi lost both her parents.
Mr. Yu and Mrs. Yu went to ask for the wages, and the person on the other side was a ng, speaking in an arrogant tone, uttering pleasing words, effectively treating Mr. Yu and Mrs. Yu like fools. In the end, he simply dismissed the quality of the house my father built without specifying what was wrong.
He refused to pay.
The parties fought, and Yu Zhaodi stepped forward to help, thinking in her heart that she should study law and sue them in the future.
Her father had built the house well, but why would they unjustly claim it was poorly done and refuse to pay?
The hatred in Yu Zhaodi’s heart grew as they walked ho, with Mr. Yu and Mrs. Yu trying to comfort her, worried she would be concerned.
Yu Zhaodi, being sensible, said nothing but felt terrible for her parents. Pretending to be clueless and cheerful, they walked along the newly built road. They hadn’t gone a hundred ters when a car, as if out of control, hurtled straight towards them.
At the most critical mont, Mr. Yu pushed her and Mrs. Yu aside.
Mr. Yu was hit and thrown about ten ters away, landing right beside a construction site, and died instantly.
Yu Zhaodi and Mrs. Yu were devastated by grief.
Yu Zhaodi tried to confront them, but the people in the car never ca out. Soon, Boss ng, whom she had seen earlier, appeared. Yu Zhaodi managed to catch only a partial glimpse of a man in the car.
In the end, the other party paid a large sum of money trying to persuade her not to sue them.
Yu Zhaodi and Mrs. Yu insisted on suing them since they hadn’t even seen the people involved since the incident.
On the day of Mr. Yu’s funeral, Mrs. Yu suddenly left the house, took the money, handed it to her brother, and then, above the new house that Mr. Yu built, she jumped off and died.
Within a few days, Yu Zhaodi lost both parents.
Yu Zhaodi felt like the sky had fallen.
She refused to accept that money, seeing it as blood money for her father’s life. She wanted those responsible to receive their rightful punishnt, and she pursued legal action, which finally caused a stir.
Sadly, the person who was brought forth was just a scapegoat.
She distinctly rembered that this person was not the one she saw at court.
Yu Zhaodi suddenly realized she could not fight these people on her own, so she harbored her resentnt and began secretly following Boss ng. Indeed, she stumbled upon a photo of Boss ng with a young man.
Yu Zhaodi then confird who this person was.
While attending university, she kept investigating who this person was and finally uncovered that the driver that fateful night was ng Yanzhi.
"Car accident?" Feng Yongqing, listening on the side, was sowhat confused. A car accident two years ago... so pieces started to fall into place for him.
Two years ago, when ng Yanzhi was under the strict control of ng Jin, was his most rebellious period. Later, ng Yanzhi went out to relax, and subsequently, he was arrested and confined.
Feng Yongqing thought at the ti it was because ng Yanzhi had angered ng Jin again, but he hadn’t expected that it also involved a human life?
