Love letter?
Tang Yue was not too sure, and subconsciously dodged to the side. Zhang Lei briskly walked out of the classroom. She was wondering what was kept in the drawer when she realized there was not only Zhang Lei in the classroom but also Xu Zhenzhen.
It seed that Xu Zhenzhen had just gotten up from under the desk, and then because of the nurous books, her entire figure was blocked, resulting in Zhang Lei not noticing Xu Zhenzhen.
Tang Yue did not appear but watched as Xu Zhenzhen nervously took out and looked at the envelope.
The expression on Xu Zhenzhen's face changed from initial shock to later jealousy.
Tang Yue, hidden at the door, personally saw the jealousy and anger in Xu Zhenzhen's eyes. Growing up with her since childhood, and even in her previous life, she had never seen jealousy in Xu Zhenzhen's eyes.
Xu Zhenzhen always disguised herself very well, even if they ended up tearing each other apart, Xu Zhenzhen's face always carried a proud and triumphant smile.
Tang Yue thought about it; in her previous life, she hadn't seen the letter, nor knew about what happened later, which made her quite passive. Could it be that Xu Zhenzhen hid the letter?
This thought flashed through Tang Yue's mind montarily. She pretended to greet a classmate from the next class and then entered the classroom.
Xu Zhenzhen hurriedly hid it back. When she saw Tang Yue, her expression was visibly nervous. She awkwardly asked, "Xiao Yue, why are you back in the classroom at this ti?"
"I just finished eating and ca to get sothing. What about you? Why aren't you with Tian Tian?" Tang Yue asked with a smile.
Xu Zhenzhen fiddled with her hair, her head lowered to cover her fluster, "I dropped my money under the desk, I ran back to get it."
"Oh, isn't your seat over there?" Tang Yue pointed to a spot in the corner.
Xu Zhenzhen's eyes shifted and she replied, "I'm just checking it out. Tian Tian is still waiting for ."
Xu Zhenzhen hurried away.
Tang Yue returned to her seat and finally opened the letter that Xu Zhenzhen had casually stuffed back. She read the letter word by word. The general aning was about having a good feeling for her, hoping for a reply at the end of the letter.
Tang Yue tore the letter into pieces and threw it in the trash can, sitting at her desk, unable to snap back to reality for a long while.
In her previous life, until the early romantic affair with Zhang Lei was exposed, she was the last to know about it. Stepping back, if she hadn't encountered Xu Zhenzhen today, would she have taken the letter away?
And the later replies, were they all sent by Xu Zhenzhen on her behalf?
Did Xu Zhenzhen like Zhang Lei?
Various pieces of information and conjectures flooded Tang Yue's mind. She felt overwheld. Zhang Lei was indeed very impressive at school, tall and good-looking, and his academic performance was also within the top ten in the class.
Just, why hadn't she noticed these feelings before?
Tang Yue took a deep breath. In her previous life, she did not like Tang Zhengde, and without a father, her resentnt towards her mother made her focus only on her studies and nothing else.
Previously, she did not think much, but now with a turn of thoughts, she felt a terrifying sense of realization.
How many things had Xu Zhenzhen been hiding from her?
With the matter of the letter, Tang Yue started paying more attention to Xu Zhenzhen, spending most of her ti in the classroom. As for the occasional glances from Zhang Lei, Tang Yue calmly pretended not to notice them.
Xu Zhenzhen was hinting and probing Tang Yue both openly and secretly, but Tang Yue skillfully parried these attempts. She wanted to see what else Xu Zhenzhen would do.
On Friday, when it was ti for students to go ho for the weekend, Tang Yue had agreed to go to the Provincial City and couldn't return ho, but she deliberately went to the school gate to buy so pens and pretty notebooks, hoping Zou Xia would take them ho.
Just as she reached the school gate, she saw soone unexpected.
Tang Zhengde.
"Dad, what are you doing here?" Tang Yue asked with a smile on her face, happily walking up and asking, "Is there sothing wrong?"
"Nothing serious. Your mom was worried about you and asked to check on you," Tang Zhengde saw Tang Yue's smile and felt relieved. He handed her the living expenses for next week, "You haven't been ho in two weeks, your mom and Xiao Jun both miss you. This is for next week's living expenses."
"No need," Tang Yue refused and said, "Dad, I have money. My uncle gave so. By the way, these pens and notebooks are for Xiao Jun. Tell him and Xiao Jun that I will check his howork next ti I'm back and tell him to study hard."
"Xiao Yue, keep your money for yourself. You even bought pens and notebooks for Xiao Jun," Tang Zhengde held the pen and notebooks, feeling warm inside. Over the years, he had never known how to get along with this stepdaughter, always trying to give her the best, but only receiving coldness in return.
Now, Tang Yue was smiling and repeatedly calling him 'Dad,' making him feel very comforted. It seed that all the hardships of working in the forest and moving bricks had disappeared.
"Xiao Jun will need to get into college later; he needs good grades," Tang Yue said with a grin. "Dad, you and mom shouldn't worry. I help my uncle and can earn my own living expenses."
Tang Yue paused, adding, "Dad, working in the mountains is very tiring and hard, especially when trees fall. Also, even though it's autumn now, there can still be snakes on the mountain, so you all need to be careful."
Although Tang Zhengde had never been bitten by a snake before, who knows if sothing bad could happen due to the butterfly effect?
"Okay," Tang Zhengde's heart ward further. He stuffed the money into her hand, "Keep what your uncle gave you. It's always good to have a bit more money while studying away from ho. Dad trusts you; you won't spend it recklessly."
Tang Zhengde repeated his instructions several tis before leaving.
Tang Yue watched his figure, seeing his dust-covered appearance, wondering if he had co specifically to see her. He had walked such a long way and wouldn't even consider taking a bus back.
Biting her lip, Tang Yue ran forward and blocked Tang Zhengde's path.
"Xiao Yue, what's wrong? Is there sothing else?" Tang Zhengde saw her chasing after him and thought she might have sothing important.
"Dad, take the bus ho. It's getting late, and you won't make it ho before dark if you walk," Tang Yue insisted. "Dad, I know you want to save the 50 cents for the bus fare, but if sothing happens to you on the mountain road, what would mom, Xiao Jun, and I do?"
Tang Yue took out 50 cents from her hand and solemnly placed it in Tang Zhengde's palm, playfully saying, "Dad, consider it as your daughter's contribution, borrowing flowers to present the Buddha, offering my filial piety."
"Xiao Yue," Tang Zhengde clutched the 50 cents, feeling its weight as heavy as gold.
"I'll walk you to the bus, Dad. If you don't take it, from now on, I won't call you dad," she said deliberately, having lived a refreshed life, understanding better than anyone the value of family affection.
"Okay," Tang Zhengde lowered his eyes, looking at Tang Yue's smiling face, his eyes slightly red.
