"That’s the thing," Tang Yue cheerfully suggested, "I can go to uncle’s house, prepare the al and then deliver it to his shop, which would be perfect."

"There’s no need to go to his house; can’t you just do it at our own ho?" Zhang Hualian remarked.

With an embarrassed smile, Tang Yue said, "Mom, uncle needs nutritious food to heal, and it’s more convenient to cook at his place. We need to make breakfast at ho early in the morning anyway."

"You’re right, the soup has to be simred on low heat. A quick boil on high heat just doesn’t produce the sa deliciousness and nutritional value," Zhang Hualian found herself in agreent with Tang Yue’s point of view.

Tang Zhengde looked at Tang Yue skeptically and asked, "Xiao Yue, are you hiding sothing from us?"

"Not at all," Tang Yue replied with a laugh, her heart pounding nervously as she stood up. Rembering the unopened parcel, she said, "Oh right, Dad, I bought you two pairs of shoes, and for Mom, so kitchen utensils, like this convenient peeler, and this waterproof apron so you won’t have to worry about getting your clothes wet anymore."

"Big sis, what about ?" Tang Jun imdiately spoke up, worried he’d be overlooked if he didn’t speak soon.

"There’s sothing for you too, your workbooks," Tang Yue said as she handed them over, causing Tang Jun to frown. His sister seed overly concerned about his grades, always bringing him workbooks whenever she went out.

"Is there anything else?" Tang Jun wished he had clairvoyance to see right through Tang Yue’s bag and find out what else was inside.

Tang Yue smiled and said, "Look, comics and a set of Journey to the West."

"Wow!" Tang Jun’s face flushed with excitent upon seeing the comics and the set of Journey to the West. "Thank you, sis."

"Xiao Yue, it’s not easy for you going out, why did you buy us things?" Tang Zhengde held the shoes, finding them stylish and the soles soft and comfortable.

"Dad, you stand for so long, you need a pair of comfortable shoes," Tang Yue explained. "This trip to Shenzhen went very smoothly."

"As long as it went well. How much were the shoes? Your Mom will give you the money later; you shouldn’t spend your own," Tang Zhengde said.

Putting on a displeased face, Tang Yue replied, "Dad, these are a token of my filial respect for you. Are you implying they’re too cheap, or that I made a bad choice?"

"Of course not," Tang Zhengde imdiately broke into a smile, cradling the shoes as if they were treasures. "Since they are a gift from my daughter, of course I like them. It’s just that two pairs might be a bit wasteful."

"Having two pairs to switch between makes them last longer, not a waste," Tang Yue said with a grin.

After distributing the items she brought back, Tang Yue finally breathed a sigh of relief. As long as her parents didn’t inquire why she needed to cook at her uncle’s house, she felt at ease.

Waking up on a bright morning filled with sunlight and the chirping of birds, Tang Yue finally had a good night’s sleep at ho after several restless nights, dreaming sweetly until dawn.

After breakfast, Tang Yue headed to Tang Mingli’s ho with buns, and upon arrival, she saw Mo Xiaolin coming over with fresh groceries.

"Xiao Yue, I’ve finally found you," Mo Xiaolin said happily, afraid she wouldn’t find the place after buying groceries.

"Aunt Mo," Tang Yue looked at the freshly slaughtered chicken and couldn’t help asking, "Aunt Mo, what ti did you get up to butcher the chicken?"

"I had soone at the market help with the chicken; can you stew so chicken soup for Siyu? I also bought a couple of side dishes." Mo Xiaolin handed over a whole chicken that had been slaughtered, along with so vegetables she brought in.

Tang Yue looked at the whole chicken and couldn’t help saying, "Aunt Mo, it’s winter now and the soup will be too much to finish. This is really a lot."

"Whatever is too much, you and your uncle can have it. You shouldn’t be working hard for nothing," said Mo Xiaolin.

Tang Yue insisted on refusing, "Aunt Mo, this is too wasteful. Half a chicken can make a big pot of soup already, let alone a whole one. If you genuinely want to cook, I’d be happy to, but this is going to make feel uncomfortable."

"Alright, then just keep half," conceded Mo Xiaolin and took a step back.

Tang Yue accepted the vegetables and invited Mo Xiaolin into the house to sit for a while, but Mo Xiaolin indicated she had things to do and needed to leave early.

"Xiao Yue, is this... what Aunt Mo brought over?" Tang Mingli, who had just gotten out of bed upon hearing the voices outside, asked.

"Yes, uncle, how’s your wound?" Tang Yue looked at his back; although she only saw the clothes, not the wound, she felt as if just by looking, everything would be alright.

Tang Mingli shook his head, "It’s fine, healing nicely."

After washing up, he ate stead buns while saying, "Xiao Yue, I’ll head to the store later, then to the factory. The factory’s wall, like we discussed, needs to be constructed quickly."

"Right," Tang Yue nodded affirmatively, her gaze filled with concern as she asked, "Uncle, your injury hasn’t fully healed yet, and you’re already moving around. Is that okay?"

"No problem, as long as I don’t run," Tang Mingli said, gobbling down the buns quickly until they were all gone, and he felt satisfyingly full. "We already have part of the wall, we just need to fix it. And the factory’s open space is quite spacious."

"Uncle, I’ll go to Sister Deng’s this afternoon, then head to the factory. We’ll check together if there’s anything we missed," Tang Yue said as she took out the vegetables, washing them with clean water, preparing to make the broth.

"Okay," Tang Mingli quickly headed out the door.

Tang Yue reminded him, "Uncle, I’ll bring you lunch at your store around noon."

"Got it," said Tang Mingli, waving his hand as he left with long strides.

Alone in the tiny kitchen, Tang Yue was busy preparing the chicken by cutting it into small pieces, frying it with ginger and cooking wine until fragrant, then adding water to stew it. As for the other two dishes, after handling them, she stopped by the market to pick up a few more.

By noon, the chicken soup slled delicious. Tang Yue first filled a lunchbox full of it for Mo Siyu, and only then served the remainder to Tang Mingli. As for the other three dishes, the combination was simple yet appetizing.

Tang Yue first delivered them to Tang Mingli’s store, then headed to the hospital. Standing at the door of the ward, she took a deep breath before raising her hand to knock.

"Co in."

The cold voice of Mo Siyu echoed, causing Tang Yue’s heart to skip a beat. She lifted her smile and, carrying the al, entered the sickroom where two hospital beds were laid out, and Mo Siyu was in the one closest to the window. Bright light poured in from outside, and there he was, sitting up in bed, wearing a loose hospital gown, but still looking handso as ever.
