"M-Mr. ng."

The assistant was scared stiff by the cold air coming off ng Yanzhi; he couldn’t even speak clearly. He stamred, "Mr. ng, n-no, ng Siyu is here."

"So he’s here, what are you panicking for?"

ng Yanzhi snapped. Knowing it was because of Chenchen, he walked straight downstairs.

He was still on the staircase when he ran right into the furious ng Siyu coming up. ng Siyu said, "ng Yanzhi, where’s Chenchen? Where are you hiding her?"

"Shh."

ng Yanzhi raised a finger to his lips, gesturing for silence. He lowered his voice and said, "Chenchen just fell asleep not long ago, don’t wake her."

"ng Siyu, no matter what, we’re both ng. I’m also Chenchen’s uncle. I invite her out for a al, and that’s not allowed?" ng Yanzhi looked at ng Siyu, the jealousy pressed deep in his heart faintly rising.

It was just that, in these ten years, ng Yanzhi was no longer the man who used to flare up at the drop of a hat.

"I’m her real uncle," ng Siyu reminded him.

ng Yanzhi shot him a sidelong glance, but regardless of what he said, ng Siyu had to see with his own eyes that Chenchen was safe before he could relax.

The assistant stood off to the side, not sure if he should stop ng Siyu.

ng Yanzhi stepped aside to let ng Siyu go upstairs, which also showed his attitude.

"Make tea."

ng Yanzhi instructed the assistant, then went to the living room and sat down on the guest sofa.

Before long, the tea was ready. The fragrance of tea filled the living room as ng Yanzhi waited for ng Siyu to co back down from upstairs.

Upstairs.

ng Siyu easily found the room Chenchen was in. He pushed the door open. The dreamy Princess room was especially pretty, exactly the style Chenchen had always liked.

On the carpet by the window, Chenchen was hugging a doll, sleeping soundly. Sunlight spilled over her, making her look like a little Angel, holy and beautiful.

The mont he saw her, the anxiety in ng Siyu’s heart finally eased.

ng Siyu silently lightened his footsteps and walked over to Chenchen. He carefully sat down in front of her. He practically wanted to grab her up and give her a good spanking, but looking at her sleeping face, he just couldn’t bring himself to do it, couldn’t even bear to wake her.

"Chenchen, do you know how worried Daddy was?"

ng Siyu lowered his voice, raising a hand to gently smooth back the long hair that had fallen over Chenchen’s face.

He sat there for a long ti before quietly backing out.

Living room.

ng Yanzhi had been waiting for him. He said, "Well? I didn’t lie to you, did I?"

"Where did you see her?" ng Siyu asked.

ng Yanzhi gave him a look and said, "At the mall, near the restrooms. Do you know, if it hadn’t been for , Chenchen would’ve been kidnapped today."

Just thinking of that scene made ng Yanzhi unable to stop his anger.

Angry that ng Siyu hadn’t protected Chenchen properly.

He clearly had Tang Yue, had such a cute child. If—if it were him, he would never let the child be in even the slightest danger.

"ng Siyu, this is how you act as a father?"

"She’s still so little, how could you let her be outside alone?"

ng Yanzhi poured out the countless grievances in his heart, scolding ng Siyu up and down.

"Thank you."

ng Siyu said it sincerely.

ng Yanzhi was mid-lecture when he heard that and froze on the spot.

For quite a while, he couldn’t react.

ng Siyu... was thanking him?

This...

Why did ng Yanzhi find that so hard to believe?

"Thank you for saving Chenchen," ng Siyu spoke again. No matter why ng Yanzhi had brought Chenchen ho instead of contacting him, at least he’d kept her safe and unhurt.

Even though that person might not actually have been able to take Chenchen away, this kind of thing was not sothing ng Siyu was willing to let happen to her.

This ti, ng Yanzhi heard him clearly. He cleared his throat and said, "Anyway, I’m also Chenchen’s real uncle. From now on, just let her get closer to more often, that’s all."

"No." ng Siyu refused.

"Why not?"

ng Yanzhi frowned, looking puzzled. "I’m her real uncle. What’s wrong with wanting to be close to my own niece? It’s not like I’m going to eat her. Why not?"

"What do you think?"

ng Siyu looked straight at him without a second thought.

ng Yanzhi fell silent for a mont before saying, "The past is the past. Now we’re brothers, and I’m Chenchen’s uncle."

ng Siyu said nothing more. He got up and went upstairs, and before long he ca down carrying the still soundly sleeping Chenchen in his arms.

"She hasn’t even woken up yet."

ng Yanzhi couldn’t bear for Chenchen to leave so soon.

"Thank you for taking care of her."

ng Siyu held Chenchen tightly. She was sleeping so sweetly she showed no sign of waking at all.

Only after ng Siyu left with Chenchen did ng Yanzhi sit down in the Princess room, looking dejected, hugging the little teddy bear Chenchen had just been holding, staring off in a daze.

Back ho, Tang Yue only then belatedly found out that Chenchen had gone missing today, and then even had a al at ng Yanzhi’s place.

Tang Yue was so angry she made Chenchen stand facing the wall to reflect.

"What, you can’t bear it?" Tang Yue looked at the heartache written all over ng Siyu’s face and couldn’t help saying, "This whole ss started because of Chenchen’s greed. If the siblings had stayed together and Ding Ling had been with them the whole ti, today’s danger never would’ve happened. She has to reflect properly."

With ng Siyu spoiling his daughter without any bottom line, Tang Yue, as her real mom, could only play the strict one!

"She has to reflect."

ng Siyu talked tough, but in his heart he was hurting terribly.

Zaozao and Chenchen were both standing facing the wall, reflecting. Even Ding Ling felt extrely guilty. Tang Yue instead comforted her, saying, "Ding Ling, this isn’t your fault. It’s all because Chenchen is too greedy. Her greedy little habit just won’t change."

"You must be exhausted taking the two of them out, right?"

Tang Yue went on comforting her. "Don’t dwell on it. Chenchen’s safe and sound. You should rest early too."

"Sister Tang, it’s who shouldn’t have left Chenchen alone in the dessert shop."

Ding Ling felt horribly guilty inside. If she had insisted on taking Chenchen with her, none of this would have happened.

"It’s not your fault, really not."

After a lot of effort, Tang Yue finally talked Ding Ling around. Then she turned to ng Siyu and asked, "How did Chenchen end up at ng Yanzhi’s place?"

"He just happened to run into her."

Thinking of the Princess room ng Yanzhi had prepared, ng Siyu realized it looked freshly done. And as far as he knew, ng Yanzhi didn’t have a girlfriend, let alone a child. So was that Princess room specially prepared for Chenchen?

Can’t have Xiao Yue, so he’s set his sights on their daughter?

No way. He couldn’t let Chenchen have too much contact with ng Yanzhi.

Even if ng Yanzhi had saved Chenchen this ti, so what?
