"Where is this?"

"Little girl, did you rescue ?"

Tang Jun turned his head, following the girl’s voice, but his vision was completely enveloped in darkness. No matter how much he tried to open his eyes, he still couldn’t see anything.

"Yes, I found you by the river," the girl moved closer, observed Tang Jun’s face, and suddenly waved her hand in front of his eyes. Tang Jun had no reaction at all.

"What’s wrong with your eyes?"

The old man suddenly sat up from his rocking chair, staring at Tang Jun’s eyes.

The girl looked at the old man with a puzzled expression.

The old man quickly got up, walked to the bed, and waved his hand in front of Tang Jun’s eyes. But Tang Jun still had no reaction, just like before, trying hard to keep his eyes wide open.

"Is it night now?" Tang Jun inquired.

The old man’s heart sank, and the girl quickly glanced at the lit candle and said, "It is dark, but we’ve lit a lamp."

We’ve lit a lamp.

The girl’s words instantly made Tang Jun understand.

Tang Jun propped himself up to sit, looking around. Before his eyes, there was nothing but a pitch-black void.

He thought, these past days, in a daze, how co he hadn’t seen a single ray of light.

So that’s how it is.

Tang Jun was lost in thought for a mont. He only rembered that after picking the Lingzhi, he was very happy, handed it over, but then slipped, fell, buffered by a large tree, and landed on the grass, eventually ending up in the water. The river was swift, and his last impression was hitting his head on sothing before losing consciousness.

So, he fell into the river and was washed here?

"Thank you for saving ." Tang Jun, though deeply affected, was grateful to the girl and the old man.

"No need to thank."

The girl chirped proudly and happily, "I was the one who found you. You were lying by the river, burning hot, your whole body swollen from soaking, it was frightening."

Thinking about the situation, the girl couldn’t help but be startled. She thought he was dead, but her grandfather said he still had a breath left.

So, the grandfather and granddaughter half-dragged and carried Tang Jun ho.

Tang Jun was covered in injuries and had a fever. The girl took care of him for several days, and after wiping his face, she found that the man who was nearly lifeless by the river was more handso than anyone else in the village.

The old man, full of curiosity, asked, "That river flows out from the mountains, those are all mountains, how did you end up lying by the river?"

"I..." Tang Jun thought for a mont and said, "I fell from the cliff."

"Cliff?" The old man was puzzled, shook his head, and said, "Impossible, there are no cliffs on that mountain. Did you roll down from the mountain?"

"I fell from the cliff," Tang Jun said with certainty, then explained in detail about the herb picking.

"Could there be a place we don’t know about?"

The old man murmured to himself. He had lived here all his life and didn’t know what cliffs there were at the river’s source.

There were plenty of slopes, but cliffs?

The old man thought for a long ti but couldn’t figure it out.

Tang Jun couldn’t wait any longer and asked, "What place is this?"

"Changshui Village," the girl answered with a bright smile, thinking this elder brother looked handso.

"How far is this from Jing City?" Tang Jun had never heard of the village before, so he asked.

The girl didn’t know and looked at her grandfather for answers.

The old man didn’t directly say how far it was to Jing City, but ntioned the nearest town.

Tang Jun was a bit shocked. He had heard of this town, the one he reached while picking herbs, and now, unbelievably, he was dozens of miles away?

How did he fall from the cliff and end up dozens of miles away?

Tang Jun was still feverish, his entire body ached, not a single part unhurt. He managed to hold himself up for a while but already felt too exhausted to even speak. He said, "Old man, may I ask you to let make a phone call?"

Before finishing his sentence, Tang Jun fainted.

This short conversation took only a few minutes, and Tang Jun had barely awakened from a serious illness. He was far from recovered, and after not eating for several days, he naturally couldn’t hold on.

"Hey, what happened to you?" The girl was startled, looking to the old man for help.

"Don’t worry, girl, he’s fine, just very weak," the old man said. "He’ll sleep for a while, have so porridge and dicine tomorrow, and he’ll be alright."

As long as Tang Jun could wake up, there was no major problem.

"Grandpa, I’ll cook so porridge for him tomorrow," the girl said with concern.

The old man looked at the girl. Her clothes were simple, but her smile was innocent and lovely. He said, "Girl, you’re very worried about him?"

"Yes."

The girl nodded firmly, "He’s like a brother, I like him."

"Girl, enduring with here, must be hard for you," said the old man, looking at her with affection. As he got older, once he left this world, she would have no one to take care of her.

The villagers here were good people, but she was still young. Who knew if she could manage until she grew up?

The old man’s thoughts wandered far, gazing into the distance, lost in thought.

The girl leaned against the old man, saying, "Grandpa, I’m not troubled. I like being with you."

Even though she didn’t have parents, she had a grandfather, the best grandfather in the whole world.

"Grandpa, I’m going to make porridge now." The girl cheerfully ran to the kitchen to make porridge.

He contemplated solutions; the flashlight in his backpack would be of no use here.

The current grew swifter, and ng Siyu used the montum to his advantage, protecting vital parts of his body, as the flow propelled him faster and faster.

A glimr of light appeared, and ng Siyu felt a surge of hope, the light at the cave entrance was enough to reveal the situation there.
