[Chapter 607: Truth or Illusion]
The digital communications in Hong Kong have begun trial operations. As for shorting the pound, William White had already instructed his subordinates to reduce their positions. He didn't need to fight to the bitter end with the British.
"Bastard, why not keep going?" Soros was furious. Having just borrowed $1.5 billion at high interest, here was William White making a stylish exit.
"Sir, they might have reached an understanding with the Brits."
"Impossible. What about national credibility? That license from Hong Kong will surely be released. They'll just offer him so preferential treatnt."
Soros said this cheerfully, while his subordinates were less convinced. In their eyes, only money can be considered reliable. England's asly pride wasn't worth anything; it was just that.
"Sir, are we not going for a reverse operation? Or directly hedge out the previous positions?"
"Damn it, we've lost this round; the money we earned isn't even enough to cover the interest."

William White puffed on a huge cigar with a face full of smugness. 'You think you can pick up bargains like that? My deals don't co that easily!'
"Filson, what about that Leo Wanta fellow?"
"Strangely, I haven't seen much change in his accounts, but a large amount of funds is flowing out of London in a suspicious manner."
"Ha, is this guy really just a small-ti player? Tsk, look at that calmness."
"It's odd. Supposedly, Soros and he have a friendship. But now, I can't see any collaboration between them."
"Friendship? Haha, Filson, people like them don't have such things. I reckon Soros has sniffed out danger. It's an instinct, just like . I can see at a glance that this Leo Wanta isn't simple. Have you seen that parchnt?"
"Sir, there's definitely hearsay about it, but whether the parchnt actually exists differs in many versions."
William White didn't care much for that parchnt. The legends about the parchnt are so ancient that even if found, it would only equate to so broad concepts.
As his intelligence increased, instead of understanding more, William White beca even more confused. According to past rumors, this guy nad Leo Wanta was in charge of the "Wanta Plan," which supposedly aid to undermine the Soviet economy.
With a na like that, it sounds rather grand. Isn't it odd to na a plan after a person, shouldn't it be called sothing more like "Stumbling Block"?
Based on vague mories from his previous life, William White still recalled so details. The talk back then stated that this guy exchanged 200 billion rubles on the black market and then used official channels to convert it into dollars.
William White didn't believe this. It's ludicrously lacking in technical know-how. The price difference is nearly tenfold -- does he think he's the only one wise among the crowd?
Moreover, even if the Soviets were foolish enough to hand him $200 billion, are you really sure they have that much in their treasury?
"Master, we found that this guy seems to owe a lot of money to others?"
"Gee, right, is it the higher-ups from Soviet Union?"
"Yeah, the situation there is currently dire, and chaos might ensue."
"Wait, I need to think for a mont." Tanner's words gave William White a different perspective.
Right, while it may not be accurate, such a situation absolutely exists. This guy is clearly not an investor; he rely plays the role of an accountant. That money doesn't belong to him at all.
Wow, he stole so much money, invested it randomly, and ended up profiting!
Usually, the story should go like this: Going in excitedly to invest, only to lose everything in the end. Then, chased by all sorts of creditors.
This lucky fellow really is a winner in life. But although he won this round, he lost his entire life.
"Tanner, how can this guy make others believe in him? That part doesn't add up, which ans other possibilities may not exist."
"Master, I think those guys might be fearless. Borrowing from others might not matter, but the Soviets? That's a gamble for their lives; if sothing goes wrong, their lives and families are at stake."
"Well, for now, let's leave it at that. Haha, to make that much money and still not know how to enjoy it -- what a strange guy."

William White found himself puzzled and decided not to think about it anymore. Let the Federal Reserve deal with this headache.
He had already decided on the new movie plan; things had been tough lately. It was necessary to create a new IP, and most importantly, it had to be vibrant and lively.
Without a doubt, Fast and Furious is just that kind of movie. Hot girls, racing, nostalgia -- apart from the plot being relatively weak, everything else is quite good.
Of course, the plot needs so tweaking. The Transporter has a much more reasonable storyline.
Using racing to deliver laundry detergent? How dumb do you have to be to co up with that?
Reframing delivery as a profession is brilliant! As long as the delivery is on ti, nothing else matters.
This way, the undercover police issue becos much more logical. The plot of the first Fast and Furious was indeed too ridiculous. If it weren't for Dwayne Johnson joining later, it wouldn't have exploded in popularity relying solely on Vin Diesel.
Starting from the fifth installnt, each one has beco more coherent. Except for that resurrection aspect, everything else has been quite decent.
Tsk tsk, now his Tesla can have another surge in popularity. Too bad, though; Tesla doesn't have street cars. The ones suitable for city racing are indeed those compact cars.
Arican cars are too sturdy, too heavy, and lack power; you just can't drift!
Looks like it's still necessary to continue wringing out the compact cars. It may be hard for other movie companies to get sponsors, but with White Films, it's basically non-negotiable.
Of course, White Films has never disappointed the market; their consistent performance is worth the money spent by advertisers.
