"What the hell! You dare touch ?" David growled as he tried to stand on his feet. His face looked red, as if all the blood rushed to his face, ready to unleash a powerful punch on Josh.
Aurora, who witnessed this, was shocked. She knew David would end up in the ergency room if he challenged Josh.
Venting her frustration at both n, she hurriedly stood between them to prevent a fight.
"Stop, David! I told you there’s no need to drive ho. Josh will take ho..." she said.
But David ignored her. His provocative gaze remained fixed on Josh.
She was speechless as she gazed at the two n who nearly killed each other with their stares.
"Josh, stop it!" Aurora looked at him, relieved that he had heard her, and dropped the killing intent in his gaze. He smiled at her as if he wanted to convey his apology.
"What the heck, Aurora? How could you move on to another man so quickly after being rejected by Max?"
David clenched his hand tightly, staring at Aurora. He could no longer contain his frustration as he saw her with a new man.
Aurora nearly laughed at David’s words, unable to believe he would make such a claim. Being reborn and having to deal with this was quite amusing for her.
Just as Aurora was about to respond, she heard Josh’s low voice from behind, saying, "Should I silence him? I didn’t like him. He talks too much!"
She couldn’t help but let out a deep sigh. How could she allow him to take David’s life now? If they discovered that Josh was her bodyguard, Morrison’s family would co after Alex.
"Are you kidding, right?" she whispered.
A cold smile erged on Josh’s lips as he whispered to her, "I’m serious. It’s my duty. When necessary for your safety, I may have to eliminate people like him."
Aurora "..."
She couldn’t help but imdiately ask Josh to return to the car and wait for her. She couldn’t allow him to stay near David, or this man would send David to the afterlife.
"Could you please wait for in the car? I need to speak with him."
Josh hesitated to follow her order, but after Aurora begged him and assured him that David wouldn’t be able to hurt her, he finally left them alone together.
However, before heading to the car, Josh silently threatened David.
Once Josh returned to the car, Aurora turned to face David.
’Gosh, why do I have to deal with kids like David and Max?’ Aurora thought, taking a deep breath, noticing the jealousy flashing in David’s gaze.
Although her body was still twenty-two, her soul was already thirty-three. She felt that dealing with this young adult was quite exhausting for her.
Seeing David awkwardly standing in front of her, Aurora gently patted his shoulder.
"David, could you please stop being angry?" Aurora paused to smile as she noticed the shock in his eyes. "What do you want to discuss? Please tell now; I need to go sowhere..."
David remained silent, trying to calm his racing heart after feeling Aurora’s touch on his arm.
Clearing his throat, he finally expressed his frustration.
"Aurora, why did you move on from Max so quickly? I don’t understand. So, excuse if I feel confused...
He added, "Why are you suddenly so close to a new student in our faculty? It makes even more confused. Do you like him just to make Max jealous, or do you actually and sincerely like him?"
David paused for a mont, feeling his breath grow short. He was too annoyed to accept that Aurora had moved on with another man despite knowing how much he liked her.
"I feel sad because you betrayed , Aurora. I care for you deeply and have pursued you for a long ti. So why did you choose him? Did you know Josh before he joined our faculty?"
"Oh, David, why do I need to answer that?" Aurora said, frustration growing in her voice after hearing his words.
When she saw the disappointnt in his gaze, she felt a little sympathy for him.
"David..." she called softly, offering him a smile. "Your imagination is so wild. I’m not trying to make Max jealous. I also don’t have a relationship with Josh, as you think..."
David was stunned. A faint smile ford on his lips as he realized his worries were unfounded. He opened his mouth to say sothing, but Aurora stopped him.
"Please let finish what I’m saying. As for giving you a chance, I’m sorry, David, but I can’t. My answer has remained the sa from the beginning until now. I hope you can forget about the idea."
Aurora felt terrible for hurting this young man, but she believed it was best for him to move on. He didn’t stand a chance against Alex.
Although her marriage to Alex wasn’t genuine, they were still legally married.
"Alright, I have to go now," Aurora said, giving David’s shoulder a gentle pat before walking over to Josh’s car.
"Aurora, wait..." he called out as he hurried after her. "Why did you reject ? What am I lacking compared to Max? Can you please give a chance?" he pleaded.
David’s desperate questions made Aurora stop in her tracks. She turned to face him, unsure how to explain that she wasn’t Aurora Spencer and was already married.
"Please, Aurora, you don’t have to answer right now. I can wait until you’re ready. As long as you haven’t completely rejected , please..." he implored.
Aurora took a deep breath before responding, "David, would you believe if I said I’m married?"
"WHAT!? NO WAY..." David was too shocked to process Aurora’s words.
How could this girl be married? Just a few weeks ago, she had been chasing after Max. He refused to believe it.
"I can’t force you to believe , David. But I am married. I an lawfully married," Aurora said helplessly.
Instead of feeling shocked, David laughed out loud and shook his head in disbelief.
"Damn, Aurora! Are you running out of excuses? You know you don’t have to reject with silly excuses, right? I won’t believe it anyway. How can you be married if you’re not wearing a wedding ring?" His smile grew wider as he gently patted Aurora’s head.
Aurora: "..."
