"Of course, Young Miss. You’re welco anyti. But I’m still sad because I can’t live with you under the sa roof."
"But you can still co here to see , right?"
"Yes, I can still co here whenever you call or if I co to clean your room twice daily, in the morning and evening."
"That’s good then. I will call you every ti I’m here."
They both smiled again and continued their conversation.
"Young Miss, I’m genuinely happy for you. When my ti in this world ends one day, I won’t worry about eting your parents because I can face them and tell them that you have Master Alex, who will protect and care for you..."
Tina smiled, though her smile didn’t reach her eyes. A fleeting gloominess flashed within them.
Aurora felt a sharp dagger stab her heart as she rembered the prenup agreent she had signed with Alex.
Even though she enjoyed being here and could et all her colleagues, she knew she couldn’t stay by his side forever. His family, especially his mother, would never accept her.
"Aunty, stop talking like that. You won’t die anyti soon..."
"I know... I’m just saying," Tina chuckled.
"Well, Alex was indeed wealthy. Now I understand why my dad insisted I marry him," Aurora said, trying to steer the conversation away from gloomy topics.
However, her words only deepened Tina’s sorrow.
"You’re right, Young Miss. Your father would only choose the best husband for you," Tina replied, her voice trailing off. She attempted to wipe away her tears while recalling Aurora’s parents. "Young Miss, you must devote yourself to your husband. If I die, it will only be him—your family..."
Tina lowered her gaze, avoiding eye contact with Aurora. She didn’t want to make her feel sad again; she only wanted her Young Miss to have a flowery path in life.
But Tina was mistaken because Aurora didn’t have a connection with this young Aurora Spencer’s feelings.
She feels guilty about Tina’s high hopes for her marriage to Alex, especially since she knows exactly where it is headed: another inevitable divorce.
Aurora sighed silently as she stood up from her seat. "Aunty, thank you for arranging all my belongings here."
"That’s my duty, Miss. There’s no need to ntion it," Tina replied with a laugh, rising from her seat and pointing to the door in the corner. "I hope I didn’t forget anything important. I also placed everything from your old apartnt on your study table in the study room."
"Hmm, I will check," Aurora replied as she walked to her walk-in closet. Although the room looked small, she only had a few belongings to store.
She didn’t like all of Aurora Spencer’s clothing. She wished she could go to her stone house behind and gather all her belongings to move here.
Her heart tightened at the thought, and she hurriedly scolded herself, ’Are you crazy? You are not Rory! You are Aurora Spencer...’
"Miss, will you sell the old apartnt?" Tina’s question made Aurora look at her.
"Of course not. I won’t sell it; it’s a gift from my dad. The house is quite nice, and I like the location."
"I’m glad to hear that, Miss. But—" Suddenly, a thought crossed Tina’s mind. She walked over to Aurora and took her hand in worry.
Sensing that sothing was bothering Tina, Aurora asked in confusion, "Aunty, what’s wrong?"
"Miss, why are you not in the sa room as your husband? Why do you sleep here by yourself?"
Aurora smiled calmly upon hearing Tina’s question. She and Alex had already considered it. If those around them asked, they would provide the sa response.
She strolled to the bathroom, paused before the door, and turned to face Tina.
"Auntie, Alex, and I have agreed to sleep separately for a while. Since we just t, he is kind and mature enough to give more ti to get to know him better before we get more intimate."
Tina gasped, then smiled and nodded in agreent with Aurora.
"How can I sleep in the sa room and bed with him on our first eting? I don’t think I can. Even though he is kind and handso, I just can’t... I really can’t..."
"Yes, yes, Miss. You are right. You need ti to get to know him better." A relieved smile spread across Tina’s lips as she felt an even greater respect for Alexander Graystone. He, indeed, was a gentleman.
On the other hand, Aurora felt terrible for lying to Tina. She didn’t want to see her innocent expression for too long.
"Alright, Auntie, I need to take a shower now. You can head back to your place. I’ll call you if I need anything," she said casually, starting to unbutton her shirt.
However, just as Tina was about to leave, Aurora stopped her.
"Auntie, did Martin give you any tasks besides cleaning and tidying my room?"
"Yes, I will take care of your needs in addition to cleaning and tidying your room. anwhile, Martin will handle Mr. Alex’s needs," Tina explained cheerfully.
"Well, miss, I’m pleased with the arrangent, even though I can no longer cook for you," Tina added.
Aurora felt satisfied to hear that.
"Don’t be sad; I will co to your house if I want to enjoy your cooking, Aunty."
"Absolutely! That sounds like a wonderful idea. We can watch Korean dramas... right, Miss?" Tina laughed.
"Sure, sure... We watch," Aurora said helplessly. She had never watched drama before; her life had always been too busy to deal with Alex’s issues.
After chatting for a few more minutes, Aurora urged Tina to leave her alone. She needed to take a shower, or she would be late for dinner.
Aurora rembered that Alex usually started his al precisely at seven, and she didn’t want to upset him again on their first dinner together.
She had only a few minutes to prepare but lost track of ti while lingering under the warm shower.
When Aurora ca to her senses, she imdiately grabbed a towel, wrapped it around her wet hair, and put on a bathrobe. She then rushed to her walk-in closet.
She was about to put on the clothes she had found when she heard a knock at the door.
"Aunt Tina? Is she reminding about dinner?"
She stepped out of the walk-in closet and called, "You may co in..." while she continued to pull on her navy blue, knee-length dress.
"Oh, sorry..."
Aurora froze at the sound of Alex’s voice.
"Why is he here?" she thought. She quickly turned around and adjusted her dress to cover her undergarnts, hoping Alex didn’t see or even glimpse her barely covered body.
