A soft knock on the door jolted Aurora from her thoughts.

"Yes?" Aurora asked, her gaze fixed on the door.

"Ma’am, it’s , Tina... may I co in?"

After Alex left her here, she truly wished she could head downstairs and join the others instead of being alone in this room.

It was a tough ti for her, especially without her laptop and when her cell phone battery ran out.

She feels much more at ease when soone finally cos to keep her company.

The tension in Aurora’s expression gradually eased. "You can co in, aunty."

Tina rushes in and approaches Aurora in the seating area.

"Young ma’am, I’m happy to co here to accompany you. Are you alright? Do you need anything?"

"Hello, Aunty. How is it down there?" Aurora asked curiously, ignoring her question. Earlier, she tried to peek outside, but the window only faced the backyard. She couldn’t see much down there.

"I didn’t go through the front gate, ma’am. I ca from the back door, and soone led to this floor using the staff access. So, I really have no idea what’s happening downstairs," Tina explained.

Aurora sighed silently, having clearly forgotten about the staff access.

She knows Tina can’t see or even catch a glimpse of what happened on the first floor.

"How is Uncle Moon?" Aurora asked when she saw Tina seated across from her.

"When we got here, Mr. Moon went off with Martin."

"I an, did he say sothing during your drive here?" Aurora wanted to know about her father’s condition.

"Well, he looks quite grieved but hasn’t said anything..."

Once again, Aurora feels disappointed; she didn’t get what she wanted to hear.

Aurora stopped asking about what happened downstairs but told Tina to help her find a cell phone charger. She had completely forgotten to bring it along since she and Alex had left in such a hurry.

After she left alone again, Aurora yawned as she walked to the bed and threw herself onto the soft mattress.

It didn’t take long before drowsiness overca her, and she was in deep sleep before she knew it.

...

After a busy ti looking after the guests, Alex finally found a mont to catch his breath.

When he was about to head upstairs to check on Aurora, Matthew Graystone called him to follow.

They were heading to Matthew’s ho office.

"What is it, Dad?" Alex asked, staring at his father curiously as they finally entered his office.

Matthew Graystone didn’t rush to answer his son. Instead, he asked him to sit on the sofa before he walked to his study table and took sothing from there.

As Matthew sat opposite Alex in the seating area, he handed him a white envelope.

"Alex, we found this letter in your Grandpa’s bedroom. You need to read it."

"What is it, Dad?"

Alex frowned as he looked at the envelope with his na on it.

"I didn’t know what it was. I didn’t open it because that’s yours. I only opened the letter your Grandpa wrote for ."

Matthew’s expression turned deep and somber once again as he recalled what his father wrote for him—he said he should die to pay for what he did to Aurora Moon. He deliberately avoided eting his doctor when he felt his illness relapse.

Even though Alex hesitated to open the envelope, he felt compelled to do so after noticing his father, who seed to be urging him to check right away.

There were two pages of paper inside.

The first one contained his grandfather’s lengthy apology. He read it without revealing his emotions, yet inside, he felt a tightness gripping his heart.

Alex had complicated feelings about his Grandpa. Although he felt anger towards him, he also felt a deep sadness.

At this mont, Alex was puzzled about how to truly express those emotions.

After finishing the first page, Alex flipped to the second. This ti, he could hardly hide his shock upon discovering that the paper contained information about his Grandpa’s will.

Alex knew that his Grandpa owned seventy percent of the Graystone Group, and he didn’t expect him to give it to him and Thomas Moon.

[All shares under Andrew Graystone’s na will be split into two portions: fifty percent for Alexander Graystone and twenty percent for Thomas Moon. anwhile, other assets outside the company’s shares will go to Matthew Graystone.]

Alex read his grandfather’s handwriting several tis to ensure he didn’t misread it.

However, after so many readings, the writing was still the sa. His grandfather gave him and Thomas Moon his company share.

’Why did he give it to us?’ Alex silently asked himself, puzzled.

He rembered that he had always refused to take over the Graystone Group because he already owned Stardust Group.

Another second passes, and suddenly, sothing crosses his mind: he wants to check whether his grandfather has already changed his will in front of his lawyer.

Alex gazed curiously at his father, wanting to clarify. But before he could ask, Matthew Graystone asked first. "What’s wrong, Alex? Why do you look shocked?"

Rather than replying to his father, Alex handed him the second sheet.

After a few minutes of reading the paper in his hand, Matthew chuckled as he glanced at Alex.

"Alex, your grandfather felt bad for both you and Thomas. He decided to give you both his entire share. And..."

"Dad, giving and Uncle Moon a company share will not compensate for all his terrible actions towards Rory! Why would he give that to us? We don’t need it!"

"Alex, you..."

"I will not accept it. And I believe Uncle Moon also will reject it!" Alex continues, feeling angry to know his Grandpa apologized for what he was doing by throwing them his wealth.

"Can you please allow to finish my words?" Matthew pleaded after seeing how mad his son was now.

Alex frowned at his father’s words, simply nodding and allowing him to continue speaking.

"Your grandpa is actually sick but refuses treatnt; he says he will pay for Rory’s death himself..."

No words escaped Alex’s lips, as he was simply shocked to hear that.
