Alex smiled softly upon hearing her question.
"Rory, you don’t need to worry about them. I spoke with Patrick, and it won’t be an issue for our professor. I’ll let him know how brilliant you are."
"Because you’re so brilliant, I hired you without hesitation. Also, I will ntion to the professor that I’m so worried another company might try to poach you!"
Aurora, "..."
"Besides... when you assu your old position, you’ll also have your role to assist Patrick with the company’s cybersecurity."
Aurora was lost in thought. She was unsure whether she wanted this or not.
She rembered that in her previous life, she loved her job. Working alongside Alex, she never felt pressured; she enjoyed it.
However, what made her finally think she needed to leave him was when his mother blad her for Alex’s failed marriage.
Sigh!
’Rory, is this really what you want in life? Returning to your old job and working for him?’
Aurora pondered softly, her gaze lowered as she sought answers inside her heart and mind.
Soon after, she felt Alex gently hold her hand. Her confused mind begins to clear and calm as she stares at her hands in his warm, large palms.
A faint smile gradually appeared on her lips as she lifted her head to et his gaze.
Yet, before Aurora could say anything, Alex interrupted her.
"Rory, I sincerely apologize for being demanding when asking you to work with again. I genuinely want you by my side in everything I do."
Aurora was stunned, looking at his expression, which appeared gloomy and worried at the sa ti.
"I simply cannot stand the thought of flying to another city or abroad, knowing you are waiting for at ho. I just can’t... What if you leave again? Forever!"
Alex smiled at her, but she noticed the tremor in his eyes.
"Alex, to be honest with you... In my previous life, I liked what I was doing, working alongside you. I truly an it." Aurora genuinely expresses how she feels.
"Thank you, Rory. I know you must be thinking I co across as a jerk to you all this ti. I’ve been too concerned about how others might perceive my feelings for you and worried they could hurt you. But my past actions still ended up hurting you..." Alex sighs, struggling to express his regret further.
"Hey, please don’t say that... You were an amazing boss to before. I’m grateful that God has given this miraculous opportunity to experience your true feelings for , Alex."
Alex remained silent, but his naless happiness now shone through his gaze as he smiled lovingly at her.
He gently squeezed her hands and allowed her to continue speaking.
"Initially, I was confused about whether returning as your assistant was the right choice. However, your words made realize that I truly want this. I want to be by your side..."
...
Inside Alvin’s office.
Alvin t with Alex’s secretarial team to discuss the new personal assistant, who will also serve as Alex’s head secretary.
Five male secretaries are gathered around the eting table. They all gasped in surprise upon learning the sudden news that the new hire was a young woman.
The new person shares the sa na as their previous boss, Aurora. They are even more surprised to learn that she is an intern from the IT departnt who has suddenly beco their boss.
They all now direct their gazes at Alvin, silently objecting to this shocking news.
Alvin chuckled; he had already imagined their reactions would be like this, yet he still found it amusing.
"Hey, everyone! Though this young woman has only just graduated from university, she is incredibly talented."
Alvin tried explaining about Aurora to them without revealing that she was Alex’s wife—Aurora’s status as their boss’s wife remains a secret known only to a few.
"Alvin, why did boss Alex recruit female staff? I rember he ntioned that he would only allow Sister Rory, the female staff mber on this floor, to work closely with him..." one of the secretaries asked.
"Are you serious? What kind of question is that? Naturally, Boss Alex appreciates having appealing company. It’s been three months since Aurora departed, and maybe the big boss felt this was the perfect mont to bring a new woman to our floor."
"Hey, even though we have new female staff, don’t flirt with her. She won’t be attracted to you guys; she’s as beautiful as the goddess of heaven..."
"Wow! You actually saw her?"
"Yeah, she is currently in boss Alex’s office. Her beauty is unreal... She looks like a goddess."
"I want to visit boss Alex’s office and witness her beauty."
"You have to be patient, man. And stop imagining things about her."
"Can everyone please stop discussing nonsense?" the senior secretary reprimanded four subordinates. "Don’t question the decisions made by Boss Alex. He owns this company and can do whatever he desires. Also, stop speaking about her!"
"Yes, Understand!"
"I will shut my mouth!"
Alvin shook his head, feeling frustrated as he listened to them. He stood up from his seat and walked toward the window, where he remained for a while, listening to them talk about Aurora.
After a while, he decided to just tell them the truth. He worried these people would talk badly about Aurora and endanger their careers.
Alvin can’t bear to lose another comrade and will be busy teaching new people in the end!
He knows that soon, he will be busy teaching Aurora in her new role, and just thinking about it already gives him headaches. He can only hope Aurora is brilliant and can learn anything faster.
Alvin glanced at the seating area with a warm smile. "Guys, listen..." he said, adding, "Aurora Spencer deserves the sa respect as Boss Alex!"
When Alvin saw them frown, he chuckled and continued, "Aurora Spencer is boss Alex’s wife."
"What!?"
"No way!"
"Are you serious, Alvin?" the senior secretary exclaid in disbelief.
"Yea—" Alvin’s voice suddenly stopped as the door swung open, revealing Aurora with a warm smile behind it.
