Chapter 29 Part III
She had found soone who matched Brother Lang and Brother Hao in looks. In this lifeti, if there was soone who could compare to those two, it would be this man. Who was he? Why did he stand here alone? Could he be an immortal?
Zhenzhu pinched her own arm lightly.
"Ouch! It hurts!" Ah... It’s not an immortal.
She loved handso n! Zhenzhu’s eyes sparkled. Why was there a handso man in the wilderness?
No! He might be lost. She had to help him. If he was lost or had nowhere to go, he could live with her!
"Little rascal," Yong Saiweihao’s deep voice sounded as he covered her eyes with his large hand, pushing her head against his chest.
"Ah, Brother Hao, move your hand. I need to see! We need to help him. Is he lost? We can take him back to the camp!"
"Do you want to die?"
His slightly angry tone made Zhenzhu freeze.
"Brother Hao, don’t be so harsh. Fine, we won’t take him back. Just let see." It had been so long since she had seen such a handso man. Such a top-class eye candy was rare.
"I’m just looking, not doing anything."
"Looking is not allowed," his deep voice responded.
"..."
Nevertheless, Zhenzhu heard the sound of footsteps crunching on the dry grass, coming straight towards them. The steps were steady and deliberate, showing no signs of worry or confusion typical of soone lost. She struggled desperately to pry away the large hand covering her eyes. Finally, Yong Saiweihao relented and removed his hand, but instead, he slid his arm around her slender waist, pulling her into his embrace.
This man loved to take advantage of others, and yet her heart fluttered The young woman turned to look at the source of the footsteps approaching and saw that it was the handso young man. His white robes fluttered with each step, and his jade-like fair skin blended with the color of his attire, almost indistinguishable. Zhenzhu wondered how much effort it took to maintain such beautiful, jade-like skin. As she observed the face of the man who was moving closer, she knew she was not wrong. He was truly an immortal!
The young man stopped in front of Yong Saiweihao and bowed his head in respect.
"General."
"Young Master Tian Dengzuo."
Zhenzhu’s eyes sparkled as she looked at the two n. They knew each other! Why hadn’t Brother Hao ntioned this earlier? They were acquaintances.
"It seems today is my lucky day, encountering the General." The man smiled before glancing at the young woman in the young general’s arms. His thick eyebrows raised slightly in surprise. eting the Young General of Yan in the Jianghe field was already unusual, but seeing a beautiful woman in his arms was a rare sight.
"Mmm, we were just leaving," Yong Saiweihao replied calmly. But the one in his arm was protesting in her mind. Brother Hao, could you please stay a little longer so I can admire his beauty? Why the rush?
"Won’t the General introduce this lady to ?" Tian Dengzuo smiled. He understood the young general’s nature well enough not to take offense. Yet, he still teased this young man. Judging by such deanor of his, he was quite protective of this woman. Upon seeing his glare, Tian Dengzuo was amused. The cold general behaving unlike himself was such a rare sight.
"Her na is He Zhenzhu."
"Oh, it’s an honor to et Miss He. I am Tian Dengzuo.”
"Oh, Young Master Tian, you are too kind. The honor is mine too." The young woman gave him a big smile that her eyes almost close. But her waist was squeezed tighter, causing her to wince slightly.
"Are Lady He and the General here to admire the Jianghe flowers?"
"Yes, we are. Are you here to see the Jianghe flowers as well, Young Master Tian?" Since she learned that this man talked nicely and was an acquaintance of Brother Hao, she talked to him more.
"Not exactly. I am here searching for the legendary golden Jianghe flower. Have you heard of it, Lady He?"
"Hmm, oh... I heard about it just recently. Ah, I wish you success in finding it, Young Master." So, he was looking for the golden Jianghe flower. It made sense that he was looking for it. Just look, he was this handso. It would be a pity if his beauty faded with age. Such a handso person deserved to have the golden Jianghe flower.
"Thank you, Lady He. Are you interested in the golden Jianghe flower?" He smiled in response to her words.
"Oh, I don’t think I have the fortune to encounter such a magical thing."
"Neither do I. lack of luck. I co here every year, every ti the Jianghe flowers bloom, but I’ve never found it. I don’t know whether the legend is true or not, but I keep coming back."
"Oh, then I hope you find it soon, Young Master Tian." This man was quite dedicated to preserving his beauty.
"I heard that the Yan Region has achieved victory. Congratulations to the Young General," Tian Dengzuo said. He ca from a neutral sect that stayed out of the wars between regions, so victories or defeats did not affect him much.
In the martial world, few martial arts warriors involved themselves in wars between regions. The power in the martial world and the power of the regions were not directly linked, like a well’s water not mingling with that of the river.
Nevertheless, when eting a man who was a general of the region, offering congratulations was not seen as flattering.
"Mmm, thank you."
"You don’t look well, General. Is your health in good condition?" However, the young master of the God of Redy Sect noticed signs of illness on his face, though he wasn’t entirely sure without a proper examination.
"Huh, Young Master Tian, are you a physician?" Zhenzhu interjected, her interest piqued at the ntion of Yong Saiweihao’s health. Many royal physicians had said that they couldn’t heal Yong Saiweihao’s energy channels, but Zhenzhu was determined to find a skilled physician to help him. Seeing that this young master seed knowledgeable in dical arts, she asked eagerly.
"Oh, I know a bit."
"That’s great. Young Master Tian, please examine Brother Hao’s condition," she pleaded.
"Zhu’er," Yong Saiweihao warned.
"General, don’t underestimate my skills. I may not be as knowledgeable as the elders of my sect, but I am competent. May I have the honor of examining you?" Tian Dengzuo said with humble tone.
"I cannot trouble Young Master Tian," Yong Saiweihao responded promptly.
"Brother Hao, please don’t refuse. It won’t hurt to try," Zhenzhu whispered to him, narrowing her eyes in a pleading manner. Even the slightest hope was worth pursuing, it wouldn’t hurt to try.
"Please, Brother Hao, let Young Master Tian take a look," she begged.
Seeing this, Yong Saiweihao could only sigh deeply and nod in agreent. He couldn’t be stubborn when she was this worried.
"Yay!"
"Young Master Tian, please go ahead and examine him."
Zhenzhu said. Thus, Tian Dengzuo invited Yong Saiweihao to sit on a stone before checking his pulse.
After a mont, Tian Dengzuo’s eyes widened, and his expression beca serious. Tian Dengzuo glanced at the handso face of the young general and secretly admired him. Despite having such severely damaged energy channels, Yong Saiweihao managed to live normally. Not losing his sanity was impressive. How did this man overco the turmoil caused by losing one of the most valuable things in his life? Moreover, as a general of the region, could he continue without spirit energy?
"General, you should receive treatnt," Tian Dengzuo said, as he inserted a silver needle into Yong Saiweihao’s arm. This was just a preliminary relief.
Damaged energy channels could be treated. In the past, there were instances of successful treatnts, but it was centuries. The knowledge for treating energy channels resided only with the elder of the God of Redy Sect. However, the reclusive elder had not treated anyone for years, and the necessary herbs for treatnt were rare and precious.
"Young Master Tian, you ntioned the treatnt. Can you cure Brother Hao’s illness?" Zhenzhu asked excitedly. He even had a bundle of silver needles, could he be a reclusive great physician?
"I cannot, but I know soone who can."
"Who?!" The young woman’s eyes lit up with hope. She ran into sothing good.
"An elder in my sect. However, this elder is eccentric and hasn’t treated anyone in years."
"Then what must we do to convince the elder to treat Brother Hao?" She was willing to do anything to see Brother Hao recover.
"This elder is a woman. She has been reclusive for over ten years, since I was a child. To be honest, I won’t hide anything from you, Lady He."
"..."
"I traveled here to find the golden Jianghe flower, not to preserve my youth, but to offer it to this elder. She has an eccentricity: she is extrely obsessed with youth. Every day, she soaks in herbal baths made from hundreds of herbs to maintain her skin and prevent aging. I needed to ask her to treat soone, but she refused because the person is not a part of our sect. Therefore, I have to find the golden Jianghe flower to offer her." Even he, a young master in the sect, could not successfully persuade her even once. Hence, it was likely she would not agree to treat Yong Saiweihao."
"So we must find the golden Jianghe flower?" Zhenzhu asked.
"Exactly," Tian Dengzuo said, removing the silver needle from Yong Saiweihao, who imdiately felt lighter and more relaxed.
"Thank you, Young Master Tian. We won’t trouble you further," he said, taking the young woman’s hand as she frowned, deep in thought about finding the golden Jianghe flower to convince the eccentric elder to help Brother Hao. This won’t do. Since it was related to the divine being, she needed to return to ask Baihu and Xiao She about it. That would be the best.
"Oh, Young Master Tian, soon I’ll co back to help find the flower!" Zhenzhu, deep in her thought, just realized that she was walking far from Tian Dengzuo. So, she could only shout.
"Brother Hao, this sounds interesting. Young Master Tian’s sect must be very skilled.”
"Zhu’er, you really want to be cured?"
"Of course."
"If I remain ill, will you despise ?"
"Nooo, Brother Hao, even if you don’t recover, I will not despise you. I won’t abandon you. Please don’t think like that," Zhenzhu gripped his hand a bit tighter to make him confident that she would never leave him.
"Mmm, that’s enough. From now on, don’t worry," he raised his hand, gently patting her head.
If it weren’t for him, would she be worried? Regardless, she could still search for the golden Jianghe flower. If she found it, it would be fortuitous, but if not, then never mind, she would find another way to heal Brother Hao. However, trying once wouldn’t hurt.
By the ti Zhenzhu and Yong Saiweihao returned to the military camp, it was already evening.
"Did you know that Tian Dengzuo has a wife?" Yong Saiweihao said after they reached the camp.
"Really?!" Zhenzhu exclaid. What a pity, such a handso man was already taken. But it didn’t matter; she only admired his looks, nothing more.
"Yes, the person he wants the elder to heal is his wife. She broke so rules of their sect and was expelled. But Tian Dengzuo is deeply devoted to her and has been trying to help her all this ti."
"Oh, I see," Zhenzhu nodded in understanding. Tian Dengzuo was quite devoted as well.
"Are you very disappointed?"
"Disappointed about what? I just found him handso. Look at you, Brother Hao, you’re just as handso," Zhenzhu smiled, flattering him.
"If you look at , you’re not allowed to look at anyone else."
"Can’t I just look a little?" Handso n are like a divine feast; how could one forbid that?
"You’re such a naughty girl," Yong Saiweihao lightly knocked her on the head before walking into the tent.
"Brother Hao, don’t go yet," Zhenzhu called out to him.
"Hmm?"
"May I stay here for a while to search for the golden Jianghe flower before following you back to the capital?" Now that there was hope, why not seize it? Staying here a bit longer might allow her to find the golden Jianghe flower and heal Brother Hao. She wanted him to return to his forr life.
The young man looked into her bright, hopeful eyes and sighed deeply.
"Zhu’er..."
"Yes?"
"How can I leave you here alone?"
"But..." She wanted to find the golden Jianghe flower first.
"Brother Hao, please follow His Majesty’s orders and return to the capital. I can stay here; don’t worry about . I still have Baihu, Big Brother, and Little Brother here. I can manage staying here." Her big brother had been traveling in the martial world for a long ti and his skill was no ordinary. Moreover, she was already at the gold-tier of spirit energy cultivation and could take care of herself.
"I’ll only be at ease if you’re safe." He needed to rush back to the capital on the Emperor’s orders but worried about leaving her behind.
"I’ll be safe and return to the capital as soon as possible. Please let stay for now," she said, blinking her eyes, waiting for his permission.
Yet, Yong Saiweihao still remained silent, his face expressionless. She was trying to help him, after all.
"Mmm, in that case, I’ll stay a bit longer," the young man said.
"Hmm? Aren’t Brother Hao supposed to hurry back to the capital following the emperor’s orders, Brother Hao?" Zhenzhu could stay, but he had been summoned. Not going would be defying an imperial decree, wouldn’t it?
"I’m severely ill and cannot travel long distances. I must stay and recover fully first. Wenlang can back up in the anti," Yong Saiweihao said as if postponing the emperor’s summons was no big deal. Moreover, with his friend being Taizi, not using him for once would be a pity for such a title.
"Are you sure it’s okay?" She worried that he might get into trouble.
"It’s fine," Yong Saiweihao said, his voice calm, without any concern. Hearing this, Zhenzhu felt her worries ease.
"Oh, thank you, Brother Hao." The young woman smiled brightly upon hearing that.
"Why thank ? I should be the one thanking you, Zhu’er." She was doing this entirely for his sake, wanting him to recover. Upon hearing anything that might help, she acted without hesitation. Thus, he should be thanking her. Even though he did not believe they would get the golden Jianghe flower, nor did its existence.
The next morning, Zhenzhu woke up early. She invited Baihu, Xiao She, He Ming, and He Yu, preparing to head to the Jianghe field. Just then, Yong Saiweihao erged from his tent.
"Brother Hao, I’m heading to the foothills for a while. Please stay here and rest well." She approached the young man, reminding him to get enough rest.
"I’m coming with you."
"Coming with ! You can’t. You’re still not fully recovered. You need to stay here and let the physicians take care of you. Besides..." Before Zhenzhu could finish, the physicians, carrying their bags on their shoulders, hurried over.
"Ready, General!"
"Um... where are you all going?" Zhenzhu asked. Was he dragging all the physicians along?
"To take care of ," Yong Saiweihao replied nonchalantly, effectively silencing Zhenzhu. If she wanted the physicians to take care of him, he’d simply bring them along.
"But... uh..." Zhenzhu was at a loss for words.
"Let’s go then." He wouldn’t listen to her anyway. Well, at least having the physicians along provided so reassurance.
With that, everyone, including hundreds of guards, set off towards the Jianghe field. Soon, they passed the soldier’s cetery and arrived at the blooming Jianghe field as usual.
"Younger Sister, do you think the golden Jianghe flower really exists, or is it just a legend?" He Ming looked at the Jianghe field before him, feeling a bit discouraged. The Jianghe flower field was so large; how could they possibly find ‘the Jianghe flower’?
"Whether it’s a legend or real, it wouldn’t hurt to try.”
"Don’t worry, Big Sister. I’ll help you find it.”
"Thank you, Yu’er."
Since they decided to search, they must obtain it.
Yong Saiweihao ordered everyone to spread out and search for the golden Jianghe flower. He himself followed closely behind Zhenzhu, accompanied by several imperial physicians and nurous guards. It seed that only He Ming, who was with Fenghuang, and He Yu, who was with Xiao She, split off on their own. Despite this, everyone diligently spread out to search. However, given the vast area, searching like this was akin to wandering aimlessly without a clear destination. Finding one specific flower among tens of thousands was no easy task.
"Baihu, do you think the golden Jianghe flower truly exists?"
"According to the legends, it likely does, but I cannot be certain," Baihu said.
"In that case, how can we search for it? Wandering through the field, surely won’t yield any results.” Special things must require special thods to obtain. If she were to search, the Jianghe flowers might wither before she could inspect every single cun.
"If it truly is a magical item from the divine being, using divine power to locate it shouldn’t be difficult.”
"Really?! Wonderful!" She made the right choice of bringing Baihu along.
"Then let’s split up to search." Zhenzhu parted ways with Baihu.
