Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Li Qiang Is Angry
Lu Ming, the driver, quickly did as directed and Xin Yan stayed with Chen Wenling.
"President, it’s important that you show up for the bidding. I’m okay, and I don’t want you to miss out on this opportunity because of ," stated Chen Wenling after she had collected herself.
"Absolutely not, I won’t leave you here. Even if I want to attend the land bidding, I’ll ask Lu Ming to take you to my house so Nanny Zhong can look after you. I care about you too much and won’t leave until you’re alright, even if it ans losing a few contracts," she told Wenling, causing tears to well up in her eyes.
"President, are you willing to risk the land just for my sake?" Chen Wenling asked with teary eyes.
The emotions she felt were probably due to experiencing care from soone for the very first ti.
"Don’t be silly, girl. You’re more than an assistant—you’re like a sister to . Your welfare cos first. Let’s not focus on the land; I can easily secure more if it’s required." Xin Yan chuckled.
Chen Wenling insisted, ’If you truly consider
your sister, you’ll attend the land bidding. You deserve to win it.’
"Okay, if this is what you desire, I insist you move into my place; it’s empty and has plenty of space for you. Please accept my offer," Xin Yan pleaded.
"Okay, I’ll move into your place," she consented. Xin Yan broke into a smile.
Chen Wenling pouted as she said, "I want to join you for the land auction; I feel safe when I’m with you."
Unable to face her disappointnt, Xin Yan gave a nod of assent. Although she wanted her to rest badly, the little one refused.
Chen Wenling hastened to her room and got into a suitable dress.
Xin Yan glanced at her wristwatch, causing her eyes to flicker slightly. With only an hour remaining before the bidding deadline, she felt uncertain about when Lu Ming would co back.
She had left her files in the car too. She realized that due to the long distance, she needed to book a ride. She couldn’t wait for Lu Ming.
Without her files, she planned to use her persuasion skills to win them over.
’I’m ready,’ Chen Wenling announced openly, pulling her from her reverie.
"Mr. Lu has yet to return? It’s expected, the nearest police station is still a bit far from here," Chen Wenling analyzed which caused Xin Yan to frown.
Xin Yan asked, ’If you book a ride now, how long will it take to arrive?’ They were in a hurry.
Chen Wenling responded, ’The ride lasts around ten to twenty minutes to arrive, depending on the route.’
"We don’t have much ti, we will directly board a cab," she inford her as she pulled her out of the apartnt.
They hurried out but Xin Yan halted suddenly.
Her lips twitched montarily as she called out, "Li Qiang?" It seed Lu Ming had already inford him of her ’heroic’ deed.
Nodding towards the car, he said, ’Get in,’ as he made his way to the backseat. Without any hesitation, Xin Yan trailed after him, needing no one’s advice.
Without hesitation, Chen Wenling settled into the passenger seat, but was stunned when she saw the driver.
"Gao Yang?" She exclaid in surprise.
He stayed quiet while turning on the car’s ignition and accelerating away.
A thick sense of palpable tension filled the entire ride.
Xin Yan looked at him and let out a sigh. From the mont the car set off, he worked on his laptop.
He kept quiet, and she didn’t try to hide the fact that his behavior hurt her.
Gao Yang announced, ’We have arrived, President.’
Li Qiang looked over at Xin and noticed her eyes fixed on him. Feeling awkward, she nervously cleared her throat and then motioned for Chen Wenling to exit the car.
"Just a mont," he called out, prompting her to turn eagerly towards him.
He asked, ’Where are your files?’ He clearly recalled she was holding a stack of files in her hands this morning.
"About that, I left it in the car," she replied. "It wasn’t on purpose," she hurriedly replied recognizing the contempt on his face.
"It’s ridiculous. How can you convince them without any proposal?" He massaged his temple while looking at his headstrong wife.
’I believe I can manage; after all, I created the proposal myself,’ she said with confidence. Besides, there are still so files with Wenling.’ He sighed as he listened.
He told her to look after herself and not do anything reckless, and she affird with a nod.
She fully comprehended his words and resisted the impulse to laugh. It was obvious to her that he was angry. Giggling would only worsen the issue.
Li Qiang shot her a glare. He noticed she struggled to suppress her laughter.
He could only shake his head helplessly. The girl couldn’t comprehend how he felt upon receiving Lu Ming’s news.
He had questioned how she beca so reckless, but fortunately, nothing bad happened to her and she even captured those n.
"I’m leaving now," she said, and he nodded in response.
He wished her luck, and she replied with a radiant smile.
She stepped out of the car, and Li Qiang told Gao Yang to drive only after he was certain she had gone into the building.
"President, President Li appears to be upset," Chen Wenling noted as soon as they entered the building.
This was the National Bureau of Lands and Resources. Chen Wenling got goosebumps as they stepped inside.
Even the most powerful CEOs must show so humility when they step into this building. Here, everyone stands as equals.
Xin Yan shook her head to reassure the girl, ’It’s fine, he’s just as unpredictable as the weather.’

When she heard soone call her na in a high-pitched voice, she frowned.
Turning towards where she heard the voice, she slightly raised her eyebrows in recognition of the speaker.
