Gu Shishi smiled. She did not know how to react. She could not expect that due to her coercion, Madam Lu decided to carry out a test. Not only that, but she felt flattered.
"I don’t think I did anything, Madam Lu would have naturally thought about it, I guess I was just the switch which helped her realize it," Gu Shishi was not the sort of person who would take all the credit, especially for sothing which she did not think she did.
"Regardless, you played a major role, and I am glad for that, anyway, I would be leaving for my office, please, inform my sister about it, have a fantastic day, Miss. Gu," he smiled at her, before walking away.
A smile escaped from Gu Shishi’s lips.
A few minutes later, she was called in by Madam Lu to which she imdiately heeded.
"Have a seat," Madam Lu instructed, and Gu Shishi took a seat on the sofa as it was practically the only seat left.
"Gu Shishi, thank you," Madam Lu thanked her genuinely, which made the younger girl shy.
"Madam, what are you thanking
for? I didn’t do anything huge," Gu Shishi tucked a strand of hair behind her ear while giving a shy look to Madam Lu.
Madam Lu chuckled. She found Gu Shishi’s behavior to be sweet.
"You might think you have not done anything, but you have practically saved my son and , and for that, I have to say my thanks," Madam Lu paused, letting out an exhalation while turning to look at the unconscious Lu Wei.
"Now that I think about it, today’s goal was to eliminate my son because he was the legitimate heir, which will give room for illegitimate heir, I never expected Lu Juan to be this wicked," Madam Lu clenched her fingers into tight fists while letting out a sigh.
"What step would you be taking?" Gu Shishi asked curiously.
"If you were in my shoes, what step would you take?" Madam Lu threw the question back to her.
Gu Shishi did not hesitate before she replied with a, "fight back!"
Madam Lu gave her a blank look which prompted her to explain more.
"Fighting back is the only way I would have my revenge, they separated
from my son, and tried to assassinate him, I need to beat them at their ga," Gu Shishi explained further, which impressed Madam Lu.
"I hope you do not find
vicious, Madam Lu, the world is a wicked place, and we can only protect ourselves because even the person we thought was the closest to us could end up betraying us," Gu Shishi hoped that Madam Lu wouldn’t be softhearted as that would be a waste of discovering the news.
"I like your thought process, and I am glad we have the sa thoughts, and no, I do not find you vicious, it is better to strike first, before the enemies eat up a large chunk of your flesh," Madam Lu was quick to clarify.
She was not a saint, and if anyone tried to use her or manipulate her, she would find back without any hesitation.
"I am glad you don’t find
evil," Gu Shishi was relieved.

"Dad, don’t you think we should visit Lu Wei? We need to show our sincerity," Lu Feng and Mr. Lu had already arrived ho.
"I don’t think we have anything to do there, for all I care, he could be dead, the hurdle in our way. Would be gone, why do we need to visit him?" Mr. Lu replied nonchalantly.
"But father, if the Press gets to know about it, it would be very detrintal to our reputation," Lu Wei reminded.
Mr. Lu sighed. He was aware that what his son was saying was the truth. But he would rather not visit Lu Wei.
How could he visit soone he didn’t give attention to, he had never been a hypocrite, and he was not going to start now?
"Dad, just listen to , let’s visit him," Lu Feng continued to press.
Unknown to Mr. Lu, Lu had a terrible inkling. It felt that sothing was about to go wrong. What wanted to go wrong, he had no idea about it.
This was the reason he was trying to convince his father so they could both visit Lu Wei.
"Fine, let’s visit him, for all we know, he could be dead. It is best we see him off," Mr. Lu chuckled as he rose to his feet, dusting the nonexistent dust on his trousers.
"We have to confirm if he is really dead," Lu Feng muttered under his breath, to his father’s hearing.
"Fine, shall we leave?" Mr. Lu asked, as he stretched forth his hands, while giving a look to his son.

Mr. Lu and Lu Feng finally arrived at the hospital. A frown instinctively appeared on their faces as they imdiately laid their eyes on the reporters.
"Why are the reporters here? And they seem to be waiting for soone?" Lu Feng asked curiously, the frown on his face intensifying.
Mr. Lu did not respond, but he continued to observe them. They all had their eyes eagerly on the hospital’s entrance. Suddenly, Mr. Lu’s heart skipped a beat.
For a mont, he felt they were waiting for him.
"It is none of our business, let’s go see Lu Wei," Mr. Lu instructed, forcing a smile on his face.
Lu Feng stared at his father, and for so reason, he felt that sothing was wrong, but he was not willing to speak about it.
As they suddenly stepped out of the car, the reporters noticed and recognized them, which caused the reporters to flock towards them instantly.
"Mr. Lu, what do you have to say about swapping your wife’s child with the child you had with your lover?" Reporter 1 questioned.
"Mr. Lu, there are speculations that you are responsible for Mr. Lu Wei’s condition, do you have anything to say about it?" Reporter 2 asked.
Lu Feng and Mr. Lu had stunned faces, and they could not comprehend how the reporters were able to find out about it.
