Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Yuan Renshu Is Arrested

How long have you had this planned? "You made

look like a fool, was this just a ga to you?’ he said without caring about his reputation.

"You should not be asking any questions," she warned, squinting fiercely, as the conference room door suddenly flew open.

Chen Wenling cried out in shock, "Gao Yang?" upon seeing the unexpected visitor. He wasn’t by himself; five to six policen stood behind him.

The sight of the policen surprised Xin Yan and everybody else.

"Gao Yang, why are the police officers here?" Xin Yan walked towards him, frowning.

"Here’s the situation, President Xin. The President knew you would et with Yuan Renshu today, so he asked

to notify the police for your convenience."

Shock filled Yuan Renshu instantly. It ca back to him that Xin Yan had, in fact, married the most desired man in China.

He didn’t focus on it; sending the police to assist her was puzzling him. Everyone knew the marriage was based on convenience, but would Li Qiang agree to help her?

Xin Yan’s lips trembled a little. She had every reason to think that he spoke highly of the president.

She simply nodded and then faced the officer who appeared to be in charge.

"Thanks for being here, officers. Here is the criminal, and I’m certain this evidence will warrant his arrest."

The police officer received the papers and quickly skimd them. He tightened his jaw in rage, fixing his gaze on Yuan Renshu.

Already drenched in sweat, he trembled and thought, ’It’s over. That’s it, it’s over. I failed.’

’Ah, it’s no surprise that President Li takes such good care of his wife,’ a shareholder noted with a sigh.

’What dote on his wife?’ As she shook her head in frustration, she thought, ’It’s clear we just got married.’

A broad smile lit up Gao Yang’s face when he noticed that director.

The police officer, looking stern, said, ’Yuan Renshu, you are under arrest for all the cris listed here,’ and gestured for one of his n to seize him.

"What justification do you have for this arrest? You’re only sucking up to her because she has money," he yelled, struggling against the approaching police officer.

"These docunts could easily be fake; what if she tries to set

up? Xin Yan, I’m aware of your feelings towards , but love isn’t sothing we can control. I’m attracted to Jiang Lanfen, not to you. Know that your retaliatory actions hold no justification because you are a married woman."

He spoke in a way that misled others. Fortunately, those around him uncovered his true nature long ago.

"You can’t speak to President Xin like this. Why would President Li fra you, assuming you believe she is doing so? He distinctively delivered those papers so that President Xin could get rid of you." Gao Yang angrily ntioned.

His frustration led him to expose where the docunts ca from.

’Oh no,’ he muttered under his breath, seeing the disbelief on Xin Yan’s face. He committed a significant error.

Xin Yan wasn’t the only person who felt surprised. With wide eyes, Yuan Renshu observed him in disbelief. He couldn’t have believed that Li Qiang was the one behind it. Xin Yan seed unaware of it.

The shock affected the shareholders as well.

"Please ignore that comnt, President Xin," he awkwardly scratched his nose as he spoke.

Although his boss wished to conceal it from her, he ended up revealing the truth.

’I can pretend not to know, but what reaction will they have?’ she laughed, pointing at the stunned shareholders.

"Well," he said, scratching his head with a pained expression. As he observed the elderly n, he felt certain they wouldn’t keep quiet.

The mont they opened their mouths, their news would quickly beco widespread. It looked like all he could do was get ready for his punishnt because there was no hope of getting his year-end bonus.

The police officer sneered at him, saying, ’Now that you know the truth, nothing can stop us from arresting you,’ while he visibly trembled.

As they grabbed Yuan Renshu, he yelled at the top of his voice, ’No! I’m not going to jail—stay away from ! I absolutely don’t want to end up in jail!’

Xin Yan abruptly told them to wait, and they imdiately halted.

She moved toward him at a leisurely pace and stood still in front of him.

His eyes wavered as she whispered, "You said you loved her; don’t worry, I’ll look after her well."

"Touch her and I will kill you, don’t even try!" He continued to scream furiously when she moved back.

She smiled and then gestured for them to lead him away, ignoring his screams.

She smiled coldly and said, "Now that we’ve settled it, I’m confident the shareholders will make a wise choice about whom to follow."

They nodded in a hurried manner.

"What will happen to the company he started, President Xin?" Xin Yan furrowed her brow at the inquiry.

"Don’t worry about it. President Li will manage the situation, and I believe he’ll get it signed very soon," comnted Gao Yang once more, hinting at his president’s imminent actions.

He quickly waved his hands and said, ’Forget I ntioned it,’ while wondering what was happening to him.

Chen Wenling laughed and said, "You are brainless," as the three of them left the conference room together.

"She showed up right on ti and pitched in to help us, much to our relief. I never thought Yuan Renshu would betray us, especially since he was one of our own," a shareholder comnted, leaning back wearily.

"I agree with you. Xin Yan helped us and revealed his actions, so it makes sense to support her," another shareholder replied.

They unanimously decided to support Xin Yan, which marked the mont she gained devoted followers.

"Li Qiang was really the one who sent those papers?" Xin Yan asked when they reached her office.

"I am sorry President Xin, President Li originally planned to keep it a secret but I ended up revealing it," he had a regretful look on his face.

"It’s fine, I find his actions quite cute," she smiled as she thought about the little things he had done for her in secret.
