Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Unedited Chapter

Chen Mikong and his mother looked at Gu Shishi who looked dead serious.

They turned to look at each other, and they knew this was the end for them.

They could not continue to use Chen Wenling anymore.

"Chen Wenling, you may leave, this has nothing to do with you anymore, it is up to him to apologize or spend the rest of the year in jail," Gu Shishi instructed.

"And as for cutting ties with her, I suggest you do it, but clearly this is not over, you can continue later," Gu Shishi suggested, and she nodded in return.

"Thank you for helping

out," she bowed her head, and thanked her.

Gu Shishi felt flustered as she montarily lost her voice. No one has ever thanked her for things which she had done, this was the first ti, and she had no idea how she was to react to it.

"It is fine, I can relate with you, you may leave now," Gu Shishi cleared her throat as she uttered those words.

Chen Wenling raised her eyebrows, but she did not comnt, rather she walked out with Gao Yang.

"I never expected her to have helped , she is not as bad as the rumors put her to be," Chen Wenling comnted with a sigh as they exited to the station.

"I think I have an idea on why she helped you," Gao Yang stated.

"And what is that?" She stopped, turned to look at him, expecting an answer.

"She must have experienced the sa thing just like you, the discrimination between boys and girls, but that is just a guess, it might be different, but I would be more inclined to believe the forr," he explained to her.

She mused within herself. Who knows? Perhaps it was the truth or not. She was only aware of the fact that Gu Shishi helped her.

"Let’s go," he said. They both boarded the car and drove off.

*Jiang’s Residence*

Jiang Zhengzhou was seated on the couch. The man who was once vibrant seed to have aged over night.

He stared at his phone in worry. He was waiting for his daughter, Jiang Lanfen.

These past few days have been really tough for him, and the previous day was a breaking point for him. Xin Yan acquired his company!

Now, Jiang Lanfen is nowhere to be found. He continued to fix his gaze on his phone, he was expecting a call from her.

She had left since morning, she never told him where she was headed to, and it was close to evening now.

In the past, he never bothered if she did sothing this way, but he felt an ominous feeling, thus, he could not shake such feelings away.

All of a sudden, the phone which was in his hands rang, and he jumped out of the fright.

He took deep breaths to stabilise his breathing before he picked it.

"Hello, Lanfen," he called out to her. All he wanted was to hear his daughter’s voice, he yearned to listen to it.

She might not be his real daughter, she might be adopted, but that did not an he loved her less. He always loved her, and he cared so much about her.

"Father," Jiang Lanfen called in a lowered voice. She knew that her dad would be worried about her, but she needed to break the news to him.

Jiang Zhengzhou fell back into the chair in relief. He had heard his daughter’s voice, consequently, he felt at peace.

"Where have you been?" There ca the questioning. He was relieved, yet he was mad at her for not telling him where she went.

"Dad, I visited Xin Yan," she inford with her eyes closed.

She was aware her father was going to lash out at her, and truly, Jiang Zhengzhou did not disappoint in that manner.

"What? What did you just say? Have you visited Xin Yan? Why?" He stood up imdiately, asking questions after questions, he was not expecting his daughter would have taken such a move.

"Listen to , dad, you have to calm down, rember the doctor had ordered for you to remain calm at all tis, and not to get agitated," she tried to calm him down.

This was one of the reasons she did not want to inform him, but the police officers were stubborn.

They demanded that at least, one mber of her family had to be present.

She would have called Yuan Renshu, but he was not reliable, and they were divorced already, he would never be willing to help.

She had no one but her dad, abs despite pleading with the officers, they were hellbent on her informing her father.

"Do you expect

to not get agitated after what you have just said?" Jiang Zhengzhou paced around the room.

After everything which had happened, his daughter still went behind his back and t up with the main cause of the issue.

"Where are you now?" He queried with a tired voice, while massaging his forehead.

He heard the long silence from the other end, and his mood dampened imdiately.

"I asked a question, and I will appreciate it if you respond," he instructed.

She took a deep breath, before replying, "I am at the police station."

Jiang Zhengzhou’s hands flew straight to his chest imdiately. He felt he could die just by her reply.

"What?" This ti around, his voice did not sound vibrant, nor energetic, as he whispered.

"How did you end up in the station?" He inquired, as he took a seat on the single-seater couch.

His heart has been stimulated twice today, and he did not want such to happen again, so it was best he had his seat.

Jiang Lanfen was about to say; ’Xin Yan tricked ,’ but one look at the officer caused her to think otherwise.

She had to rephrase her sentence, or she might end up dying without being judged.

"I tried to kill Xin Yan," she finally replied in a quiet voice.

Jiang Zhengzhou had thought that he would not get stimulated anymore, but he was wrong, very wrong.

"You did what?" He jumped to his feet for the third ti in a row.

This ti around, he did not bother to have his seat anymore. He didn’t want to get another massive shock, so he felt it was better to be on his feet.

"I tried to kill Xin Yan," this ti around, her voice was firr and louder.

The surrounding officers looked at her in disgust.

"Why? Just why? Why did you have to do this? You should have let her be," Jiang Zhengzhou was short of words.

He did not know how she was able to think, not to talk more about taking such drastic action.

"I am sorry dad, but I am not to be blad, everything which had happened in the last few days caused

to feel disoriented, and when she asked to et up, I answered," Jiang Lanfen explained.

"You should have ignored it, have you ever thought of it to be a ploy from her? As we all know, Xin Yan is capable of pulling off ploys," Jiang Zhengzhou seed to be very aware of Xin Yan’s character.

"But I could not!" She retorted with a loud voice almost imdiately.

"I could not," she whispered.

"She gave

an offer, a tempting one, and I took it," Jiang Lanfen spoke in circles which confused him.

"What sort of offer made you make such a mistake?" He questioned.

"I wanted to know why she changed, and she extended such an offer to , and I took it, even when my instincts kicked against it," Jiang Lanfen explained.

Jiang Zhengzhou placed his palm on his forehead. His daughter sotis behaved foolishly, and he wondered how he ended up adopting her.

"Did you not think before going? Which station are you right now?" Jiang Zhengzhou asked.

"XX station," she replied.

"I will be there soon," he sighed before hanging up.

Jiang Zhengzhou looked around for his car keys. Once he found it, he left the house, and drove to the station.

He got there after thirty minutes, and after asking about her, he was directed to a secluded room.

"Lanfen," he called out after seeing her huddled in a corner of the room. She was surrounded by officers, and he felt bad for his daughter imdiately.

"Father," she called out in relief.

He looked towards the police officers. He wanted to talk to his daughter alone, but he did not know if it was sothing which could happen.

Xin Yan was the one who filed a case against her, and behind Xin Yan, there was Li Qiang who was like a mighty boulder that could not be moved.

If Xin Yan wanted to pursue this matter, then there was nothing he could do, other than to hope for the best.

The head of the officers looked at Jiang Zhengzhou, and understood what he wanted from them.

"I will give you enough ti to discuss, the victim is willing to pursue the matter, I suggest you look for a good lawyer, because I believe who you are up against," the officer suggested before leaving with his subordinates.
