When the two left, they insisted on leaving the kraft paper bag behind, despite Yunyi’s refusal. After all, the incident with Old Master Chu had happened because of both their families.

Just as Yunyi saw the guests out, she noticed Mrs. Sun chatting with soone in the distance, occasionally glancing over here.

A hint of mockery flashed in her eyes. Can’t she wait any longer?

All that the Sun Family owed the original owner, she would help reclaim, one by one. Just wait.

She slamd the door shut with a BANG, cutting off the prying eyes of the onlookers outside.

In a park not far from the Chu Family’s courtyard, two people were heading deep into the woods. "Cousin, if we keep hiding our relationship, my mom might just skip the matchmaking and directly force into marriage."

"Be good, just hold on for a few more days. Once Chuyunyi goes down to the countryside, I’ll have my family propose to yours."

"If Chuyunyi finds out you’ve deceived her, do you think she’ll spare us?"

The man replied with confidence, "Before, with Old Master Chu here, I naturally had to marry her first to get everything from the Chu Family.

"But now that the old diehard is dead, isn’t it whatever I say goes?"

Thinking of his arrangents, he snickered. "Do you know why I arranged for her to be sent down to my hotown in the countryside?"

The woman beside him shook her head gently, with a bit of coquetry. "Oh, cousin, stop keeping in suspense."

The man planted a heavy kiss on the woman’s face. "Of course, it’s to have soone watch over her at all tis and send ssages imdiately if anything happens.

"Now there’s no one to constantly protect her. Whether she can return to the city in the future will depend on my mood."

The implication was clear, as the woman spoke in a coquettish voice, "You’re so bad."

The man teased back, "All for you, my little enchantress."

The two of them embraced affectionately, and the woman’s tender voice began to rise, "Ouch, be gentle, you’re hurting ."

The man’s breath was eager. "Isn’t it because you’ve captivated my heart so thoroughly? How could I bear to actually hurt you? It’s just that I can’t help myself, cousin."

On the other side, Yunyi was packing at ho.

For her, going to the countryside wasn’t unwelco; it also gave her an excuse to change her temperant. After all, the original owner had lived here for four years, and people around knew her to so extent.

Thinking that she would leave in a few days, there was still much to do.

She picked up the kraft paper bag left on the table by the Hua and Gu Families and headed to the room where Old Master Chu used to live.

Following her mory, she found the hidden compartnt Old Master Chu had ntioned, triggered the chanism, and took out the contents.

Her grandfather had told the original owner about the items inside before, but with him around, she never had to worry about anything and had never taken it to heart.

Inside were four passbooks and a small box. Her grandfather had previously ntioned that these were all to be her dowry.

The passbooks together held more than twenty thousand yuan, a considerable sum in these tis. Yet now, it had all been easily obtained by her, an outsider.

Opening the kraft paper envelopes from the Hua and Gu Families, just as she expected, each family had given five thousand yuan as compensation.

Afterward, she found over a hundred yuan in the drawer where Old Master Chu usually kept his pocket money. All this added up to just over thirty-one thousand yuan.

Looking at the money, Yunyi felt a rush of emotions.

She wasn’t the original owner, and deep down, she couldn’t get over this hurdle. A thought began to form.

She would consider this money a loan from the Chu Family. Once she used it to earn her startup capital in the future, she would donate the money in the na of the Chu family mbers.

After making up her mind and calming her emotions, she placed the passbooks aside and then opened the small wooden box at hand.
