To Yunyi’s surprise, Guo Shuiyu ca to the clinic with her father before she left. When they didn’t find her there, they went to her ho.

Yunyi was talking with Huo Jingrui when she heard a knock on the front door. She went out and asked, "Who is it?"

Then, a sowhat familiar voice, noticeably more cheerful than before, called out from outside, "We’re here."

Opening the door, she saw Guo Shuiyu. "So you’re leaving?" As she spoke, she let the two of them into the courtyard.

Guo Shuiyu nodded. Pointing at Yunyi, she said, "Dad, this is Doctor Chu. If not for her help, our Anyi might not have survived. I also owe my life to Doctor Chu’s intervention."

Old Master Guo stepped forward, about to bow deeply to Yunyi.

Yunyi quickly steadied him. "Mr. Guo, please don’t. It was no trouble at all."

"Doctor Chu," Guo Shuiyu interjected, not seeing it that way, "I will never forget your imnse kindness. I was weak then and nearly hard Anyi. Without your help, I dread to think what would have beco of him."

Old Master Guo then added, "We ca in such a hurry that we didn’t prepare a thank-you gift, which is very impolite. You truly deserve this bow; after all, Anyi and Shuiyu are the most important people to ."

He then took a pen and a small notebook from his pocket, quickly jotted sothing down, tore out the page, and handed it to Yunyi. "Please keep this safe. If you ever need anything from the Guo Family, just contact us. As long as it’s within our capabilities and doesn’t violate any laws or regulations, we will do our utmost to help."

Yunyi accepted it. After all, no one could predict the future. It was best to keep the note; it might prove useful, and accepting it would also put their minds at ease.

They didn’t go inside, rely exchanging a few polite words in the courtyard before departing. They had co in secret, after all, knowing that the Zhang family lived in the next village, and they didn’t want to cause Yunyi any trouble.

Yunyi watched them leave before turning back into the courtyard. She understood then that Qi’er’s mother, back in Zhang Family Village, must have helped Guo Shuiyu send out a letter asking for help. This was for the best; it saved Guo Shuiyu from staying and enduring endless scoldings and beatings every day.

Huo Jingrui looked at her with a hint of playful resentnt. "I can’t even have a quiet mont with you without soone interrupting."

Yunyi looked at him, amused. "Didn’t you say you’re closer now and can visit whenever you have ti? Are you still worried we won’t have enough ti together?"

Huo Jingrui pulled her into the house. "There’s a very important eting tomorrow, so I have to leave in a bit."

Yunyi hadn’t realized he was so busy. A thought struck her. "To pick up, have you been overworking yourself these past few days without proper rest?"

Huo Jingrui pulled her into an embrace. "It’s fine. I’ve gone several days without sleep on missions before."

Yunyi said, concerned, "Don’t dismiss it just because you’re young. Your body is your own. If you don’t take care of it and constantly overwork yourself, even the strongest constitution will eventually break down."

A wave of warmth spread through Huo Jingrui’s heart. He nuzzled his face against Yunyi’s. "Are you worried about ?"

Yunyi retorted, feigning annoyance, "If you don’t even cherish your own well-being, what use is my worrying?"

Huo Jingrui held her tightly, promising, "No one cared enough to tell these things before, so I didn’t think much of it. But now that I have you, I’ll definitely be more careful. Don’t worry. I’ll manage my ti reasonably from now on and make sure you never have to worry about again."

Hearing his promise, Yunyi said with a playful pout, "You said it. If I find out you’re not taking care of yourself again, don’t bla if I ignore you."

He had never expected to fall for such a woman. What else could he do but dote on her? "Alright, I promise," Huo Jingrui said, his heart lting.

Yunyi stepped away from Huo Jingrui’s embrace. "That’s more like it."

Knowing he had to go back to work, she said, "Wait for a mont, I have sothing for you."

She went back to her room and pretended to rummage through her luggage before taking out a small porcelain bottle. She handed it to him. "I made these Nourishing Pills. Take one a day; they’ll help you maintain your health."

He didn’t think much of the pills themselves, but since they were from her, he naturally treasured them. "Thank you, Yiyi," Huo Jingrui said, accepting the bottle. "I’ll definitely take them on schedule."

Having given him the gift, and seeing it was getting late, Yunyi worried about his journey. "Since you still have work, I won’t keep you any longer."

Huo Jingrui knew he had to leave; otherwise, he wouldn’t finish reviewing the docunts even if he pulled an all-nighter. He nodded obediently. "I’ll co see you once I’m done with my work."

Then, as if rembering sothing, he pulled her into his arms again. "Don’t be frugal with the things I bought for you. I’ll bring more next ti. Take good care of yourself, and rember to call if anything cos up."

She hadn’t expected him to be so clingy. "I know," Yunyi said. "Don’t push yourself too hard with work. I can also visit you when I have a day off and bring you so delicious food."

Huo Jingrui’s eyes lit up at her words. "Then I’ll be waiting eagerly!"

After a few more tender monts, Huo Jingrui finally drove away.
