When the store was renovated, only the kitchen and the bathroom were kept on the first floor. The kitchen was downsized a lot since it was originally the back kitchen of a restaurant. In contrast, the bathroom was expanded, and at Zhen Yu’s insistence, it was even split into separate facilities for n and won.

On the second floor, two side-by-side private rooms in the corner were preserved as bedrooms, while the rest of the rooms were knocked down to make the living room appear larger and more open.

The existing bathroom on the second floor was also kept for the family’s private use.

Without tables and chairs, the mother and daughters each held a bowl of rice and stood in the kitchen to have their dinner.

Two tal beds were placed in the two bedrooms respectively, and the three of them gathered in one room, sitting in a row on one bed, starting to discuss matters.

"Brother, you should just board at high school!" Zhen Yu set the tone first.

"Ah?" Although Zhen Yan quite liked living in the dorm, and his roommates were all classmates from the sa class and got along really well,

what did his sister an by this?

"Ah what! Are you good at King of Fighters?"

"Not bad! Uh..." Zhen Yan replied reflexively, then imdiately realized he had let sothing slip. "I just occasionally go out to play with classmates, haven’t gotten addicted!"

Every ti they t, his little sister would earnestly remind him, don’t get obsessed with gas! Don’t get obsessed with gas! Don’t get obsessed with gas!

It made Zhen Yan think of his sister’s serious little face popping up in his mind every ti he was playing a ga...

"Mm." Zhen Yu wasn’t suspicious of her brother’s words, "Our family is going to open a computer gaming room, if you live here, watching others play every day, can you really control yourself?"

"Uh..." Zhen Yan was at a loss for words.

"That’s settled then!" Mrs. Zhen felt that her daughter was right and decided on the matter with a clap of her hands.

Looking at Zhen Yan’s slightly aggrieved face, Mrs. Zhen brought her son into her arms and said, "You’re still welco to stay here on weekends! You can’t stay during the week, but you can co back for als, can’t you, son? Can you make it back for all three als a day?"

"Can’t." Zhen Yan said energetically, "Morning self-study is too early, can’t make it, the school gates aren’t open at noon, everyone has to eat in the canteen! Only in the evening can I co ho for dinner."

"Then that’s fine!" Mrs. Zhen thought that was also good.

——

"How’s your computer class coming along?"

At his little sister’s question, Zhen Yan scoffed, "Ha! Don’t even ntion it! They just teach you to turn the computer on and off, move disks around, and nothing else!"

"Hehe..." Zhen Yu found this quite normal, "When we get our own computer, I’ll teach you!"

"You," Zhen Yan was about to blurt out, asking his sister how she knew everything, but he managed to hold it back in ti. "You promise?"

"I promise." The computer was sothing everyone would have to learn sooner or later, and she naturally intended to teach her brother carefully.

"Have you finished reviewing for the final exams? How well do you think you’ll rank?"

"Probably in the top ten?" Zhen Yan replied uncertainly.

Zhen Yu was sowhat dissatisfied, "How co you haven’t made any progress?"

Upon hearing his sister’s tone, Zhen Yan imdiately complained. "Little sister, you have no idea! Those top students, each one is more hard-working than the next! They set their alarms so early, they wake up before dawn. After lights out, they still study with flashlights under their covers! I can’t compare to them! And on top of that, I have to study martial arts too!"

Zhen Yu asked with an emotionless face, "Where’s the alarm? Show ."

Zhen Yan took off the self-discipline alarm he wore around his neck and handed it over, feeling uneasy inside.

As expected, without a word Zhen Yu took it and began to adjust it! She set the morning wake-up ti half an hour earlier, cut the lunch break in half, and set the evening end ti to ten minutes before lights out.

"Oh my god! Are you trying to kill ?" Zhen Yan wailed.

"Waking up half an hour early to study English is the best ti for mory! Why do you need such a long lunch break? You’re not taking a nap in winter! Go to the classroom and do problems! Ending at nine at night? You must have been using the ti to listen to ghost stories, huh? The exams are upon us and you’re still listening to those? Almost an hour—you could review a whole set of papers in that ti!"

Zhen Yan: "..."

His whole being radiated resistance...

——

After hanging the alarm back on her brother, Zhen Yu took the opportunity to activate data detection, scanning her brother’s data.

"Whoa! This kid is actually robust! Looks like the past six months of training weren’t in vain!" Zhen Yu thought to herself.

Glancing at the empty living room, Zhen Yu grabbed her brother and pulled him up, "Co on! Let’s spar a bit!"

"What?" Zhen Yan was puzzled as his sister dragged him out of the bedroom, but when he saw her taking a stance, he realized what she intended.

"Bring it on!" Zhen Yan was also eager to test out the results of his diligent training over the past six months.

"Both of you be careful!" Mrs. Zhen didn’t try to stop her children’s sparring, but she couldn’t help but remind them to be cautious.

"Got it." The siblings replied in unison, then swiftly began exchanging moves.

---

In the end, Zhen Yan was still twisted into a pretzel by his sister, and he couldn’t help but blurt out, "Where did you learn these moves? They seem tailor-made to counter !"

Zhen Yu released her brother and stood up, "This is grappling and counter grappling—not tailored just for you! It’s just that you have too little practical experience to handle it."

"Little sister, teach ! It seems really powerful!"

"I’ve only learned the basics myself, barely enough to deal with soone like you! Wait until you’re in the police academy; you can learn the real deal there!"

"Does the police academy teach grappling?"

"Of course! How else do you think police officers catch people?"

"Oh right! Just you watch! I’m definitely going to get in!" Zhen Yan clenched his fist, his expectations for the police academy renewed.

Zhen Yu smiled and cheered her brother on, "Yeah! I believe in you!"

"Oh, by the way, little sister! My master said he needed to see you!" Zhen Yan suddenly rembered Xu Lin’s request and quickly told his sister.

Zhen Yu checked the ti; it was still early, just past six in the evening.

"Then let’s go check it out."

"Okay!"

Mrs. Zhen didn’t co along, and the siblings made their way to Xu’s Martial Arts School one after the other.

None of Zhen Yan’s fellow apprentices were around; only Xu Lin was there, practicing a set of boxing techniques in the hall.

A few minutes later, Xu Lin finished his practice and invited them to sit while he washed his face.

"I heard from your brother that you’re the one managing the family business?" Xu Lin began tentatively.

Zhen Yu nodded, "In the grand sche of things, yes."

Xu Lin was silent for a mont, then looked directly into Zhen Yu’s eyes, "My Martial Arts Hall is struggling to make a profit due to the way I take on disciples. But I don’t want to change this rule. Do you have any good suggestions?"

Zhen Yu was startled, then quickly ca to an understanding.

To put it simply, running a business ans having to make money. Xu Lin might charge a bit more because of his genuine skills, but his small number of recruits was not sustaining the business.

So the business of this Martial Arts Hall...

Zhen Yu thought it through and, combining her knowledge of mbership and VIP tier systems from her previous life, suggested a clear path for Xu Lin.
