Zhen Yu was lying on Han Mingyue’s single bed with her eyes open because she couldn’t fall asleep even when she closed them.

She was quite familiar with everything in the room, and the blanket was soft and exuded a clear scent of soap, but she just couldn’t find a hint of drowsiness.

"Ah..." She clearly didn’t have trouble sleeping in different beds! Neither did she have issues with things like blankets or pillows.

Zhen Yu’s biological clock wasn’t particularly accurate; although in the past year, she was done with bed by nine each night, the ti she actually fell asleep varied...

Lying there for a while longer didn’t work. Zhen Yu got up to turn on the light, pulled out her textbook, and doubled her focus to start reading.

A long ti passed in this way until Zhen Yu felt sleepy, and it was nearing 11 o’clock.

The night before, she had stayed up late, and the next morning, she hadn’t gotten out of bed until Mrs. Han ca into the room to call her.

"Xiao Yu, get up," Mrs. Han nudged Zhen Yu. "It’s almost ti for school."

"Oh..." Zhen Yu slowly opened her eyes and sat up. "What ti is it?"

"It’s almost seven."

"Ah!" Once Zhen Yu heard the ti, she beca instantly alert, hurriedly slipped on her slippers, and dashed out the door, prompting a head shake and chuckle from Mrs. Han.

However, before Mrs. Han had a chance to follow, Zhen Yu returned to the room with her arms crossed.

"What’s wrong?" Mrs. Han asked curiously.

"That, that Aunt Han," Zhen Yu’s cheeks were red. "Could you step out for a mont?"

"Oh, oh..." Mrs. Han chuckled with so amusent, guessing the little girl probably needed privacy for sothing, so she considerately said, "Then I will go eat breakfast first, you get ready quickly and co over."

"Got it, Aunt."

As soon as Mrs. Han left, Zhen Yu bolted the door.

Then she ran to the bedside, pulled a short tank top from under the pillow, and put it on under the white blouse.

When she returned from Qi City yesterday, Mrs. Zhen insisted she wear the new long-sleeved shirt she bought – the kind with a big collar with lace that many girls from the ’90s wore, seemingly made of chiffon.

This fabric had been popular for several years. It was cool to wear in the sumr and didn’t wrinkle easily, but it had one major drawback – it was transparent!

When Mrs. Han arrived at the dining table, her two sons were eating breakfast, and Mr. Han was already packing his stuff, ready to head out.

"Wait for Xiao Yu, the two of you! Your dad is about to leave, and mom has to eat then go too, probably can’t wait for her."

Han Jiayang imdiately replied, "Got it! Mom, you eat quick!"

Han Mingyue, however, bowed his head and devoured his al, only murmuring a low "Mhm".

What’s with him? Mrs. Han looked suspiciously at the reddened tips of her eldest son’s ears.

But since she was in a hurry to get to work, the thought rely flickered in her mind and was then tossed aside.

What happened to Han Mingyue? He was feeling awkward and guilty!

Zhen Yu ran out just as he was outside the door; Han Mingyue hadn’t known his mother had already gone to wake Zhen Yu, so seeing that it was getting late, he ca to call her.

The two ran into each other right outside Han Mingyue’s room. After a glance at each other, just as Han Mingyue was about to speak, his gaze was involuntarily drawn downward by sothing he had never seen before...

He knew it was rude to stare, but he couldn’t control his curiosity.

Not until Zhen Yu suddenly turned away did Han Mingyue drop an "I’m sorry!" and beat a hasty retreat.

Thinking about how Zhen Yu will co over for breakfast soon and then go to school together, he panics, not knowing what to do.

He desperately tries to steady himself, repeatedly telling himself, "Stay calm! Be cool! Stay calm! Be cool!"

In his mind, he reassures himself: "Han Mingyue! It wasn’t intentional!"

"Han Mingyue! You did it on purpose!" However, another voice in his heart suddenly contradicts him.

Han Mingyue is so frustrated, "Ah...", will Xiao Yu be so mad that she won’t talk to anymore?!

——

He hardly had ti to think more when Zhen Yu had finished washing up and ca to the dining table.

She sat down without saying a word and didn’t ask where Mr. Han and Mrs. Han went, focusing solely on eating her breakfast.

Han Jiayang didn’t understand the subtle communication between these two at all, thinking that Zhen Yu also knew there wasn’t much ti left, and was in a hurry to go to school.

After silently finishing breakfast, there was no ti to wash the dishes. Together they packed everything into the kitchen, shouldered their bags, locked the door, and walked towards the school.

"Sss! I just realized! In this middle school, only Zhen Yan and Zhen Yu studied for three years, we all studied for four years, brother!" Walking on the way, Han Jiayang suddenly exclaid.

Han Mingyue glanced at him, "How about I tutor you, so you can skip a grade too?"

Han Jiayang waved his hands in fear, "No way! Bro! If anyone is skipping, you do it yourself!"

Zhen Yu and Han Mingyue both montarily stopped in their tracks, instinctively looking at each other.

But their gazes only t briefly, not lingering long enough to decipher any aning before they each looked away.

"Let’s hurry!" Han Mingyue swallowed hard, "Today is Monday, after all."

All three of them entered the classroom just as the bell for morning self-study rang. It was only then that Zhen Yu rembered to ask Han Mingyue if the seats had been rearranged.

Fortunately, as soon as she entered the classroom, she saw that Teacher Jiang was also there, sitting behind the podium with a smile looking at her and Han Mingyue.

"Good morning, Teacher!" After bowing and greeting, Han Mingyue went straight back to his seat, while Zhen Yu stood still at the door.

Teacher Jiang stood up and tapped on the desk, and the low murmuring in the classroom disappeared instantly.

"It seems that Teacher Jiang has quite an authority!" Zhen Yu thought secretly to herself, "She had previously assud that this male teacher, always smiling, would be easy to talk to!"

——

"This is Zhen Yu, our classmate, I believe everyone has gotten to know her! Starting today, she will officially beco a mber of our ninth-grade class one, and I hope everyone will get along well and make progress together!"

"Zhen Yu, do you have anything you want to say to your classmates?" Teacher Jiang ant for Zhen Yu to introduce herself.

Instead, Zhen Yu pretended not to understand and made a request to him, "Teacher Jiang, can I sit with Bai Xue?"

"?" Teacher Jiang glanced at Bai Xue. She wasn’t tall, and her seat was neither in the front nor at the back, surrounded by students who were diocre in their studies.

"Can you tell why you want to sit with her?" Teacher Jiang didn’t rush to decide; he wanted to hear Zhen Yu’s reason first.

To see how this little girl would put it under everyone’s watch.

"Because she’s my good friend!"

Teacher Jiang wanted to argue back, and the students below were restless, with most thinking, "Just because they’re close, they need to sit together? Does she think the school belongs to her family?"

Even Han Mingyue and Bai Xue were sowhat disbelieving, why would Zhen Yu co up with such a poor excuse?!

Then Zhen Yu continued, "I’m good at studying, she’s not! I want to attend the sa high school as her, go to college in the sa city! So I have to help her closely!"
