"I’ve already found many people to examine her, but no one can tell what’s wrong with Qianqian." Lu Qingqing looked at Gu Ningyue, her eyes carrying a hint of sorrow, unwilling to accept this reality after so long. Unwilling to accept that Ji Qianqian would live like this for a lifeti, only calling her Sister.
Gu Ningyue shook her head, her eyes sowhat hesitant: "I wasn’t referring to a doctor."
Last ti, when she was cursed, she too spent most of the ti drowsy. Upon careful reflection, it seed to have started around the sa ti as Ji Qianqian’s condition.
But, why did those who targeted her co after Ji Qianqian?
Lu Qingqing confusedly asked, "Then what are you talking about?"
Gu Ningyue lowered her voice, looking at Lu Qingqing, "Visit a temple!"
Lu Qingqing was slightly taken aback, then sowhat disappointed, "I never believed in these things. There’s no such thing as gods or ghosts in this world!"
Gu Ningyue sighed inwardly. She wouldn’t have believed these things before either. But having experienced life and death, even the body she occupied wasn’t originally hers. What right did she have to say she didn’t believe?
After thinking for a while, Gu Ningyue changed her approach, looking at Lu Qingqing: "You misunderstood. Temples are now surrounded by Buddhist chants that can calm the mind and cultivate one’s character. Now that Qianqian lives with you, your family probably has so complaints by now."
The Lu Family, though wealthy and influential, wouldn’t mind supporting an idle Ji Qianqian. But if Lu Qingqing expended too much effort and resources for Ji Qianqian, causing many troubles, the Lu Family wouldn’t just consider Ji Qianqian as a ’fool’ that needs feeding but as a big problem.
Lu Qingqing pursed her lips, looking at Ji Qianqian, who had fallen asleep while leaning against her: "My family hopes I go abroad for further studies and that Ji Qianqian is sent elsewhere. I’m unwilling, but so things are beyond my control."
Just as Ji Qianqian woke, she dared not ntion this matter. Now, with only Gu Ningyue present, Lu Qingqing finally had a chance to express her suppressed emotions: "If I leave, what will happen to Qianqian? She has nothing now, only . I can’t leave her just like that..."
Gu Ningyue sighed. No one in this world gets everything they wish for, even soone like Lu Qingqing has things that don’t go smoothly.
And this particular struggle was unfortunately linked to Ji Qianqian, whom she cared about most.
Just thinking about it feels like an unbearable weight.
"I have a question, but I’m not sure if I should ask." Gu Ningyue looked at Lu Qingqing.
Lu Qingqing nodded, "Go ahead."
Gu Ningyue glanced at Ji Qianqian and then turned her gaze to Lu Qingqing’s face: "Are you so good to Ji Qianqian just because of your childhood bond?"
Towards this neighbor sister, Lu Qingqing seed to have given too much.
Lu Qingqing didn’t speak, but her eyes showed an emotion that Gu Ningyue couldn’t comprehend.
Gu Ningyue grew more puzzled, her eyes falling on Lu Qingqing’s hand resting on Ji Qianqian’s shoulder.
A thought flashed through her mind, but she didn’t catch it before it disappeared.
"You’ll know why in the future," Lu Qingqing tucked Ji Qianqian’s loose strands of hair behind her ear: "It’s getting late, I should take her back now."
Gu Ningyue didn’t press further, she simply nodded and said, "Consider what I said, it might help Qianqian. After all, the oppressive atmosphere isn’t good for her condition."
Lu Qingqing responded, "Okay, I’ll think about it."
Gu Ningyue watched Lu Qingqing wake Ji Qianqian and pull out her chair to stand: "So, is what we discussed today settled?"
Lu Qingqing nodded, "Of course."
Ji Qianqian looked at Gu Ningyue, rubbing her eyes as she asked, "Sister, what happened? Did I sleep for a long ti?"
Gu Ningyue affectionately touched her head, "Yes! It’s rare for Sister to co out, yet Qianqian fell asleep, Sister is very sad!"
Ji Qianqian showed a remorseful expression, tugging at Gu Ningyue’s sleeve, "Sister, Qianqian didn’t do it intentionally, please don’t be sad, okay?"
Gu Ningyue chuckled, "Alright, next ti I et Qianqian, Sister will take Qianqian to the amusent park, okay?"
Ji Qianqian nodded vigorously, "Sister, promise!"
Gu Ningyue hooked her finger with Ji Qianqian’s, then patted her shoulder and said, "It’s already late, go back with your Sister Qingqing!"
Ji Qianqian responded with a sound, reluctantly saying goodbye to Gu Ningyue, and left with Lu Qingqing.
But Gu Ningyue remained standing where she was, not leaving.
She stayed until the coffee in her cup turned completely cold, before calling a waiter to settle the bill.
"The total is seven hundred thirty-six. Will you pay by card or another thod?"
Gu Ningyue took out the card Ling Tianyou had given her, "By card."
"Please wait a mont."
After a while, the waiter returned the card to Gu Ningyue.
Gu Ningyue stood up and glanced at the bar area, "Where’s Bai Song? Has he already left?"
The waiter nodded, "He just left."
It’s odd, given that he should have changed and gone ho long ago, why did he leave just now?
Gu Ningyue acknowledged quietly, picked up her things, and left.
Gu Ningyue looked towards the bar area, since confirming her identity, Bai Song had frequently glanced in her direction.
Did he have sothing to say to her?
Reflecting carefully on middle school days, apart from her friend Shen Hanyin, the original self only had Bai Yang who was willing to talk to her.

The moonlight was just right tonight, and the night breeze cooled perfectly. Gu Ningyue glanced at the parked car and suddenly felt like taking a walk nearby.
Such a beautiful evening, if only Ling Tianyou were by her side as well.
She opened her phone’s cara, adjusted the angle, took a photo and sent it to Ling Tianyou: "Is the moon on this street not different from usual?"
"How is it different?" Ling Tianyou replied quickly.
Gu Ningyue: "Feels like sothing is missing."
"Ding Dong—"
Ling Tianyou: "Missing ?"
Gu Ningyue smiled with a pursed mouth, "Yes! What are you doing?"
"Ding Dong—"
Ling Tianyou: "I’m getting ready to head ho, where are you? I’ll co pick you up."
"Okay, I’ll wait for you."
Sending her location to Ling Tianyou, Gu Ningyue stood in place and stretched.
In truth, her current life wasn’t all that bad!
