Li Jing appeared in the hospital room half an hour later than originally expected.

He was wearing a white coat and hurriedly appeared before Gu Zheng, a composed and calm face: "I’m sorry, there were so matters at ho that needed handling. I’m here now to examine Miss Gu."

As he spoke, two doctors and a nurse pushing a mobile bed ca in from behind.

Li Jing glanced back, "Take her over."

Gu Wanwan, lying on the bed, had already passed out from pain several tis, all her willpower worn down by the agony.

At this mont, seeing Li Jing, she even had a kind of illusion as if finally seeing the light.

A voice in her mind kept telling her: "He’s here, you don’t have to endure anymore. As long as he’s here, you can be saved..."

Gu Wanwan tried hard to control it, but could never resist that devil-like voice.

Li Jing looked at Gu Wanwan’s longing gaze, a barely perceptible smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

He knew that Gu Wanwan could not forsake his presence.

Watching Gu Wanwan being lifted onto the mobile bed being pushed in, she was wheeled out of the hospital room under his command.

Gu Zheng followed her out, the gaze in the corridor all fell upon the two of them.

"Didn’t they say Gu Wanwan already changed her attending physician? Why did they call Director Li over again?"

"You still don’t know? She ’had an allergic reaction’."

"Really? Could it be that she regretted it and deliberately found an excuse wanting Director Li to co back? So shaless."

"Yeah! Does she think the hospital is her ho?"

"..."

Inside the elevator, Gu Zheng looked at Li Jing’s face, no matter how he examined it, he didn’t seem as terrifying as Gu Wanwan had described.

Perhaps Gu Zheng’s gaze was too deep, Li Jing turned his head and said to Gu Zheng: "Mr. Gu, there’s no need to worry. Treating this ’allergic reaction’ is actually quite easy, not as dreadful as it’s rumored outside. It’s just that so doctors used improper dication, which caused fatal cases previously. With today’s advanced technology, there won’t be any problems."

He spoke confidently, seemingly ignoring the probing look in Gu Zheng’s eyes.

In Li Jing’s view, Gu Zheng was rely a father worried for his daughter.

Gu Zheng looked at Li Jing and said: "Then I’ll trouble you. Sorry for taking up your personal ti; when Director Li is free, I’ll treat you to a al."

Li Jing shook his head, "No need, it’s my duty. After all... Miss Gu was previously under my care."

This statent made clear, if he hadn’t shown up today, with such an ’allergic reaction’ occurring to Gu Wanwan, no one could really explain what happened.

The elevator doors opened, Gu Wanwan was pushed into the specialized observation room, which the hospital had built specifically a few years ago after a patient jumped to their death shortly after ’allergic’ symptoms appeared.

Not only was the space twice as large as a regular hospital room, the necessary dical instrunts inside were also very complete.

Only those at the director level had the qualifications to enter.

"Dad..."

Just before being pushed in, the last trace of fear in Gu Wanwan’s heart finally reawakened.

Gu Zheng stepped forward and held her hand, wanting to go in with her.

But before he could take another step, Li Jing’s gentle and authoritative voice already reached his ears: "Sorry, Mr. Gu, family mbers are not allowed inside. Please wait outside the door."

Gu Zheng looked at Li Jing and could only release Gu Wanwan’s hand.

The nurse and doctor who had just pushed the mobile bed didn’t all follow inside. Li Jing looked at the doctor and said: "You co in with ."

The doctor nodded, then with a swift motion, closed the door.

But perhaps having this doctor with her, Gu Wanwan felt so comfort in her heart.

With another person there, Li Jing shouldn’t do anything to her, right?

"Director Li, this machine needs to be turned on half an hour earlier to be used. What should we do?"

"No worries, we won’t need that. Turn on the other machine over there, let’s start by examining her."

"Okay. Alright."

The two were busy in the inspection room, while Gu Wanwan lay there, not a single person taking a second glance at her.

After they finished adjusting the machine, they finally began the examination.

About ten minutes later, Li Jing suddenly said sothing to the doctor, who hesitated for a few seconds before quickly leaving the observation room.

At this mont, Gu Wanwan had already completed the examination, waiting for Li Jing to treat her.

The sudden departure of the doctor felt frightening no matter how one thought about it.

As the inspection room door closed, Li Jing slowly approached the side of her bed, and Gu Wanwan’s pulse thudded as though it would leap from her chest: "What... what are you doing? This is a hospital!"

This powerless statent was well-known; Li Jing knew it was a hospital. But when he reached out toward her, there was not the slightest hesitation.

Every corner here was rely his playground for manipulation.

Li Jing reached out and moved her long hair stuck to her forehead aside, his voice gentle as a dream: "What can I do to you? Of course, save you! Wanwan... see, how much pain you’ve been in? Hmm?"

Gu Wanwan looked at Li Jing, instinctively shrinking back: "Don’t touch . You! Did you do this to ?"

Li Jing’s fingers suddenly twitched, glancing at the nearby surveillance: "What nonsense are you talking about? Wanwan, I know you like , but there truly can’t be any possibility between us. Stop causing trouble, I’m going to start the treatnt..."

The pain from his fingertips intensified evermore, and Gu Wanwan no longer had the energy to question the aning of his words, rolling her eyes back and falling unconscious.

When she opened them again, she was already back on her hospital bed.

The sky outside was nightti, pitch-black, a despairing sky like a black hole, about to swallow everyone whole.

"Wanwan, you’re awake? Are you hungry? I bought so burgers, want to eat a little?"

A voice like that of a demon sounded by her ear, Gu Wanwan turned her head sharply and faced an innocent smile: "You! How are you here!"

Li Jing smiled at her: "If it wasn’t for , you’d be unconscious from pain countless tis by now, right? Why treat your lifesaver like this?"

Gu Wanwan only then rembered all that had happened, she had fainted from pain in the observation room, then quickly woke again thereafter.

Repeatedly, during the treatnt she didn’t know how much she had suffered.

She rembered... desperately clutching Li Jing’s sleeve, begging him to let her go.

But, how did Li Jing answer her?

She couldn’t rember...

Yet now, looking at Li Jing’s crazed eyes, she seed as though she didn’t need to rember...

Gu Wanwan bitterly smiled; it seed the answer was already clear, wasn’t it?
