Having searched his body and confird that Li Jing didn’t carry anything against the rules, the two policen finally let him in.

Just a few seconds after entering, Gu Wanwan began to scream hoarsely, "Police! Police!"

The two policen pushed the door open, only to see Gu Wanwan curled up on the bed, clutching the quilt tightly, showing a defensive posture.

Li Jing stood by the bedside, holding a stethoscope in his hand, looking confused.

"What’s wrong? What happened?"

Li Jing shook his head, "I’m not sure either. I was about to listen to her heartbeat when she suddenly reacted like that. Yesterday evening, was she agitated?"

The two policen exchanged a glance, "Since returning last night, she has been asleep and no one has visited her."

How could she have been agitated?

"Gu Wanwan, what’s wrong?" One of the policen approached and asked gently, "You can tell us anything. There’s no need to be afraid."

Gu Wanwan tugged at the quilt, her gaze softening a bit yet still filled with terror, "You all go out, just go out..."

She seed to be extrely resistant to everyone in the room, even the two policen in uniform couldn’t offer much safety.

"What happened? Why did she suddenly act like this?" The two policen were puzzled and bewildered by the situation.

Li Jing glanced at Gu Wanwan’s terrified eyes, a faint smile played on his lips, "Let’s discuss this outside!"

The two policen agreed and left the ward with Li Jing.

Watching them leave, Gu Wanwan slowly exhaled in relief, and gradually lay down, curling up completely in the quilt.

When Li Jing appeared, fragnted pieces of mory pieced together into a complete recollection.

She recalled the painful mories of yesterday, Li Jing’s angelic presence suddenly turned into a demon making her more afraid than ever before.

No, she had to get out of here.

Anyone who could take her away would do.

Gu Wanwan thought quietly, her fingers trembled slightly and uncontrollably.

Outside the door, Li Jing conferred with the two policen, "The patient’s emotions are very unstable. While examining her yesterday, she showed symptoms of neurosis. Moreover, she already has significant psychological issues; under various stimuli, she can easily beco irritable and angry. We should avoid provoking her at tis like this. Has anyone else co to see her today before I arrived?"

"Gu Wanwan’s mother ca, and they had a quarrel. Did this affect her greatly?"

"Of course." Li Jing said calmly, "Many patients develop cancer due to sudden major stress, which is why they fall victim to what people term as terminal illnesses. For patients like Gu Wanwan, even if you wish to take her statent, you need to ensure her emotional state is at its best for the process to proceed smoothly. Otherwise, I dread the outco might be unpredictable."

"Does Director Li have any good solutions?" one of the policen asked, looking at Li Jing.

Li Jing smiled softly, like how he was earlier in the corridor, "Having soone accompany her would help; I’ll try to visit her more often."

"We appreciate it."

"No need for thanks." Li Jing said to the two, "—After all, she’s also my patient..."

—My exclusive patient.

Turning back, he entered the ward again and closed the door, Gu Wanwan had already changed her posture, now lying with her back to him, facing the window.

Upon hearing the sound, Gu Wanwan trembled and curled up imdiately.

She was terrified of him!

Li Jing picked up the bouquet that had accidentally fallen to the ground earlier and approached Gu Wanwan, suddenly leaning down, "Specially bought flowers for you, do you like them?"

Gu Wanwan gazed at the bouquet, feeling as though a hand was gripping her throat, preventing any words from coming out.

Fear spread throughout her body, she had never felt so frightened before.

"Don’t like them?" Li Jing seed disappointed, "I picked them for quite a while! What a pity!"

He tossed the bouquet into the trash bin and pinched her chin with a beautiful hand, "Why aren’t you speaking? You know I hate it when people don’t respond to ."

His voice remained gentle as ever, but his eyes had already turned frighteningly cold.

Gu Wanwan was startled, "I... I didn’t."

"Sit up!" Li Jing released her and said in a low voice.

Gu Wanwan slowly sat up, looking at Li Jing, clueless about his intentions.

Recalling the fragnted mories from last night, Gu Wanwan’s legs began to tremble.

"Regret it? Don’t like anymore?" Li Jing reached into the quilt and grasped her hand, "Why is it so sweaty? Are you scared of ?"

Gu Wanwan’s heart raced, she quickly shook her head, "No, I’m not scared of you."

Li Jing, this man, was simply like a demon.

Not only violated her, but he also left marks in her most private places.

Now she still had unseeable wounds that hurt occasionally, reminding her of everything from last night.

"If not, why are you trembling so much?" Li Jing smiled and looked at her, the emotion in his eyes carrying a hint of nace, "Co closer."

Gu Wanwan hesitated, then moved closer slowly.

This was the first ti she felt so frightened by soone, even facing her father Gu Zheng, Gu Wanwan had never been so afraid.

Li Jing exuded a chilling aura that enveloped her entirely.

She disliked this side of Li Jing, the one who gave her hope and then cruelly destroyed it seed not to be the demon before her.

She even wished that... the person before would return.

"Don’t look at with such hopeful eyes. I don’t like it." Li Jing frowned slightly, revealing a look of disgust, "Really, wishing I would turn back to my old self? Gu Wanwan, stop dreaming. Ha..."

He looked at her blatantly, watching the hope in Gu Wanwan’s eyes extinguish inch by inch, and a feeling of satisfaction slowly rose within him.

He didn’t like this feeling, just like when he was young, always shrouded by such darkness by those people.

In this world, there is fundantally no light.

Moreover... Gu Wanwan doesn’t need brightness either; she is inherently evil.

This illegitimate daughter raised outside, surely hated her sister, right?

Otherwise, how could she be so malicious in always targeting her and stealing her fiancé?

Such emotion, such deep-seated hatred, he understood quite well!
