Thinking of the past, Gu Ningyue fell into a deep reverie.

After a long ti, she looked at Lin Ruixian and said, "Tonight, can you ask Mr. Cheng for ? I’m kind of missing my master."

Lin Ruixian was cutting the steak on his plate. He bowed his head, chuckled, and said, "So, being so nice to today was to ’bribe’ ? I was wondering why you were so generous!"

This comnt earned him an eye-roll from Gu Ningyue. She looked at Lin Ruixian and said, "So, are you going or not?"

Her master had been missing without a trace; she wanted to find her.

Perhaps by then, she wouldn’t care who Ling Tianyou was with.

Because she would already have soone to rely on.

"I’ll go." Lin Ruixian raised his eyes, "When you take soone’s offer, you have to oblige. Of course, I’ll go."

Hearing this, Gu Ningyue finally smiled, picked up her glass, and took a sip of the wine.

This wine, costing 185,000 per bottle, was indeed different!

When it went down, it left the taste of the people in her mouth.

After finishing their al, the two returned to the hotel where they were staying. Not long after, Lin Ruixian went to the community where Cheng Yihan lived.

Before leaving, Lin Ruixian specifically reminded Gu Ningyue not to co near.

It was already dark, and if Gu Ningyue ventured out with him hastily and was seen by others, it might lead to unnecessary trouble.

After all, several celebrities lived there.

Gu Ningyue agreed and started playing Tetris on her phone.

The world passed bit by bit. Two hours later, her room door was knocked on.

The knocking was very urgent, completely unlike Lin Ruixian’s usual leisurely knock, rather like... a death knell.

Gu Ningyue imdiately beca alert and moved to the door. Through the peephole, she saw a man dressed in black.

In the brightly lit corridor, his eyes stood out—Tan E!

Why would Tan E co looking for her? How did he know she was living here?

No, sothing’s wrong. She wasn’t Gu Weiwei anymore, so why was he here?

"Who are you looking for?" Gu Ningyue asked through the door.

Outside, Tan E’s voice ca coldly, but unusually, there was a hint of urgency: "Lin Ruixian is in trouble. He’s been stabbed in the waist. You need to save him!"

With a ’swish,’ the door opened: "What did you say?"

Tan E’s eyes widened, seemingly not expecting the girl in front of him to be the sa person he’d t in the elevator earlier.

"Lin Ruixian, your friend has been stabbed. He should be at Building 29 now. He asked to find you, so hurry up!"

Gu Ningyue didn’t spare another thought, thanked him, shut the door, ran back inside to grab the Butterfly Knife, and then hurried out.

Outside, Tan E was already gone. She didn’t know why Tan E showed up, but she could only forget what Lin Ruixian had said and head directly to the community.

The night spread, and the security in the community beca increasingly strict. Nobody could enter without identification and registration.

Having no other options, Gu Ningyue climbed over the wall to get in.

Building 29, could it be that Lin Ruixian, in his panicked escape, had ended up at Building 29?

But who would want to harm him?

Could it be that Lin Ruixian had enemies visiting from Y City?

Quickly arriving at the entrance of Building 29, Gu Ningyue surveyed the surroundings, and seeing no one else, she ventured inside alone.

If Lin Ruixian was injured in the waist, where would he hide if he wanted to seek help?

The building was too tall; heaven knows how long it would take if she searched floor by floor.

Looking at the elevators in front of her, Gu Ningyue pressed the button for each elevator floor.

After checking all three elevators to confirm they were empty, Gu Ningyue started searching floor by floor via the stairs.

Perhaps it was a stroke of luck, but on the sixth floor, Gu Ningyue finally spotted so bloodstains.

The stains were very faint, and you wouldn’t notice them if you didn’t look closely.

She didn’t know what thod he had used to cover up the lower floors, but the stains here clearly indicated his condition was deteriorating.

On the eighth floor, Gu Ningyue saw Lin Ruixian sitting by the large garbage chute.

In the dim corner, Lin Ruixian was clutching his waist wound, seemingly unconscious.

The carpet was soaked in blood. Gu Ningyue rushed to his side, "Lin Ruixian, wake up, Lin Ruixian..."

Lin Ruixian appeared to be unconscious, and luckily Gu Ningyue had called 120 in advance, saving a lot of ti.

Blood flowed profusely from the waist wound. Gu Ningyue took out a tourniquet she had bought from a roadside pharmacy, simply stopped the bleeding for Lin Ruixian, bandaged the wound quickly, and then sat beside him to wait with him for 120.

If it were in the past, perhaps helping him downstairs wouldn’t have been an issue, but unfortunately, she was too weak now, so she decided to wait here!

Considering Lin Ruixian’s height of 1.8 ters, in his unconscious state, she might find it difficult to move him an inch.

Not long after, the 120 staff arrived on the eighth floor with a stretcher and got Lin Ruixian onto the ambulance.

As they left, Gu Ningyue glanced back.

Strangely, she seed to catch a fleeting glimpse of a white figure passing by.

Was she seeing things?

At the hospital, Lin Ruixian was taken to the ergency room, while Gu Ningyue waited outside, her mind a blank slate.

After an unknown amount of ti, a doctor in a white coat approached: "Luckily, the bleeding was stopped in ti; otherwise, he might have bled to death."

Gu Ningyue snapped back to reality and asked the doctor, "Are there any internal injuries? Is it serious?"

The doctor shook his head, "He was quite lucky, just a bit deeper, and it might have been irreparable."

Gu Ningyue breathed a sigh of relief, "That’s good to hear."

"Please pay the hospitalization fee in a while." The doctor reminded, then added, "Oh, by the way, the patient is clutching onto sothing in his hand with intense focus and tension. We couldn’t give him an IV. Wait until he wakes up, then call us, okay?"

Gu Ningyue was taken aback. Lin Ruixian was holding sothing? How co she hadn’t noticed?

"Okay, I understand!"

As they spoke, Lin Ruixian was pushed out.

Gu Ningyue glanced at his hand, feeling a bad premonition rising in her heart.

After paying, Gu Ningyue sat by Lin Ruixian’s bedside, watching his pale face, which had changed to that color in just a few hours, and touched his forehead.

Well, fortunately, there’s no fever.

She had booked a single-bed room in the hospital, extended her hand to try and pry open his palm to see what’s inside, but found it completely useless.

Lin Ruixian seed to be protecting this thing with his life; she couldn’t even make out any traces.

Sigh!

Gu Ningyue sighed; there was nothing she could do, so she just waited patiently for him to wake up.

This incident had occurred so suddenly, with no trace to follow, and now Lin Ruixian lay bedridden.

Truly... life’s so unpredictable!
