"Sorry! My dad said he’s too old for this. Making such a complicated dagger is too much effort, so he’s not taking on this type of order anymore."

Gu Ningyue exchanged a glance with Lin Ruixian, a bit surprised by this outco.

"I can offer more money, a hundred thousand, okay?"

Although Gu Ningyue believed the original Qingyue Dagger was worth far more, in the eyes of outsiders, spending a hundred thousand on a dagger was already an astronomical price!

The middle-aged man was visibly tempted by this offer but, recalling his father’s words, still said to Gu Ningyue, "Well... my dad is sixty this year, and making this is very labor-intensive. Young lady..."

"One hundred and fifty thousand!" Gu Ningyue pressed on, "Please ask your father again. If it’s still a no, I won’t insist."

After hesitating for a mont, the middle-aged man was eventually persuaded by the offer. "Since you’re so sincere, I’ll ask him again for you."

He dialed the phone again and walked outside.

Faintly, fragnts of his conversation drifted in.

"Dad, why don’t you take another look at the dagger?"

"I know, I’m helping you!"

"...Dad, with a hundred and fifty thousand, you could finally buy that set you’ve wanted..."

"The person who ca..."

"Okay, I understand."

After a while, the man returned to Gu Ningyue and Lin Ruixian. "My dad said he can take the order, but he can’t guarantee the ti fra. At best, it might be ready in half a month, but at worst, it could take longer. If you’d like to proceed, you’ll need to pay a fifty-thousand deposit upfront. Even though my shop is small, I can provide a proper receipt."

Gu Ningyue was conflicted, knowing the soonest it could be ready was in half a month.

Lin Ruixian said, "We’re staying here at most for a week. Is there any way to make it faster?"

The man shook his head, "That’s really impossible. You could provide with an address, and I can mail the dagger to you once it’s done. Though when it arrives, you might need to sharpen it yourself."

Gu Ningyue understood this and, after thinking for a bit, asked, "Can I pay by card?"

"I’m afraid not. We don’t have a POS machine here," the man replied, looking at Gu Ningyue. "Alipay or WeChat Pay would work."

Gu Ningyue was montarily troubled and turned to Lin Ruixian for help. "This card belongs to Ling Tianyou; even the phone linked to it is his. I can’t bind it. Could you pay for first, and I’ll pay you back later?"

Lin Ruixian smiled brightly and asked, "How will you thank ?"

Gu Ningyue was taken aback. "Pay you back double when we get back?"

Lin Ruixian looked deeply into her eyes, "Do you think I care about such a small amount of money?"

Gu Ningyue was puzzled, "Then what do you want?"

Lin Ruixian leaned close to whisper sothing, then straightened up and asked Gu Ningyue, "How about it? That’s not too much to ask, is it?"

Gu Ningyue’s brow furrowed slightly as she suspiciously asked Lin Ruixian, "Just that? Are you sure?"

Why did she feel that Lin Ruixian’s request was more than just a al?

"Yes." Lin Ruixian nodded firmly. "Of course."

Gu Ningyue replied, "Alright! But you can’t use that trick on ."

"Don’t worry, I promise I won’t!" Lin Ruixian grinned and swiftly transferred the fifty-thousand deposit after asking the middle-aged man for his account information.

The middle-aged man, having listened to their conversation, realized that they were certainly affluent. He issued a receipt and casually asked, "Where are you two from?"

Lin Ruixian replied, "City A."

The middle-aged man said, "Coming from the Capital, no wonder. You two seem like a perfect match."

Gu Ningyue interjected, "...No, we’re just friends."

The middle-aged man was montarily stunned, then laughed heartily, "Sorry, sorry, I thought you two were a couple based on your looks. Don’t mind ."

"It’s alright," Gu Ningyue replied as she turned away. "Let know when there’s any update on WeChat."

The middle-aged man responded affirmatively, seeing off the wealthy pair as they left the shop.

Before they went, he recomnded a few scenic places in Y City.

Sitting in the taxi, Gu Ningyue sighed deeply, "Who knows when it’ll be ready? Seems like I have to buy an ordinary one as a stand-in for now."

Lin Ruixian nodded, "Mm, just get a cheap one to use for the ti being!"

"Where to?" the driver asked.

Gu Ningyue ntioned the na of a cold weapons shop. After arriving, she and Lin Ruixian chose a reasonably handy piece and left.

It was a Silver Butterfly Knife, which looked quite ordinary but was extrely sharp.

Gu Ningyue tested its handling and found it fairly satisfactory.

Watching her movents, Lin Ruixian suddenly felt as if he was transported back a few years ago, to the first ti he carried out a mission with Gu Ningyue.

Back then, she had no emotional entanglents and truly exemplified what it ant to be gallant and spirited.

Now, he found himself curious to see what Gu Ningyue would be like in action at present.

"Why are you looking at like that?" Gu Ningyue frowned. "Your gaze is a bit creepy!"

Lin Ruixian snapped out of it, slightly raising the corner of his mouth, "Is it?"

He regained his previous graceful deanor, and for a mont, Gu Ningyue was entranced. "I... suppose so!"

Lin Ruixian shrugged, "Let’s go! Grab a drink, as you promised."

Gu Ningyue sighed, "You pick the place! I’m not familiar with Y City."

At the blacksmith’s, the request Lin Ruixian made was to share a al and have a drink with him.

Fortunately, they had agreed that he couldn’t use his abilities on her.

In this way, there shouldn’t be any major risks.

In the bar, Lin Ruixian looked at Gu Ningyue from across the table and ordered two rounds of drinks. "I actually ca to Y City once last year. This bar has a nice atmosphere, good drinks, reasonable prices, and they taste great!"

Last year? Gu Ningyue rembered Lin Ruixian leaving the organization: "Have you been traveling all these years?"

Lin Ruixian laughed, "Calling it traveling doesn’t quite fit; it’s more like wandering."

Gu Ningyue asked, "Wandering? Why do you say that?"

"Traveling usually has a destination, but I’ve just traveled to wherever I felt like going." Lin Ruixian opened two bottles, handing one to Gu Ningyue. "I’d probably still be out there if my old man hadn’t rushed to co back to City A."

Gu Ningyue accepted the bottle, "You don’t know how good you’ve got it."

What’s good out there; if she had a family, she’d want to go back ho too.

But unfortunately, she didn’t.

In her previous life, the only person she could truly rely on was her ntor.

But now, only a na remained in her mory, and she didn’t even know if they were dead or alive.

Thinking of this, Gu Ningyue took a big swig from the bottle.

Lin Ruixian chuckled at the sight, "As long as I have my older brother at ho, I don’t need to be around."
