Su Ziceng was sowhat displeased with Chang i’s pettiness, especially since the Su Family was already surrounded by enemies on all sides, and yet she still demanded that Su Ziceng investigate Yan Wuxu. Su Ziceng was busy dealing with the affairs of the Su Group and was already stretched too thin. However, to appease Chang i, she reluctantly agreed.

After leaving the police station, Su Ziceng wanted to head straight back to the Wine Shop to check if Pello had already contacted lawyer Chen Jiachun. She had only taken a few steps when she saw a familiar face entering the police station.

"Uncle Wang," Su Ziceng saw it was Secretary Wang, who had already left the Su Group and had always been at odds with Chang i. Why would he co alone to the police station now?

Su Ziceng had already felt so regret about Secretary Wang’s sudden resignation, and now having the opportunity, she wanted to find out exactly what had compelled him to leave the Su Group.

In fact, over the past few days, Secretary Wang had been to the police station repeatedly, but each ti he was turned away by the police as he was not involved in the case. Yet, he was persistent and ca again and again, only to be turned away each ti.

"Miss?" upon seeing Su Ziceng, Secretary Wang was also quite surprised. He had heard from so of the older employees that after the Su Group ran into trouble, Su Ziceng was the one handling the entire situation. Now seeing her driving an old dostic car, looking exhausted, he couldn’t help but feel a little alard.

"I have sothing important to discuss with you," Secretary Wang still maintained his tone and deanor from when he worked at the Su Group, which touched Su Ziceng. After the incident, whether it was subordinate employees or long-term business partners, all had changed their attitudes.

People change with circumstances; the fine superior ginseng tea that Su Qingzhang loved had lost its taste and left Su Ziceng with nothing but a mouth full of bitterness.

The two of them did not enter the police station, but started talking under the glaring sun.

"What?" Su Ziceng was shocked. Secretary Wang had co to the Jinxi Mine specifically under orders from her father.

Why had her father given such additional instructions? Could it be that he too had noticed sothing amiss?

Su Ziceng, recalling what Chang i had ntioned earlier, blurted out: "Could it be that father also suspects soone inside the Su Group is leaking information?"

The massive upheaval in the Su Group triggered by the Jinxi Mine was a disaster both naturally and man-made.

After hearing about Su Qingzhang’s stroke, Secretary Wang had wanted to rush back imdiately, but he knew that if Su Qingzhang regained consciousness, he would prefer that Secretary Wang had gathered complete information, which is why he ca back a few days late.

At the end of May and beginning of June, it rained continuously for two weeks in the Jinxi Mine area. Near the mountainside, a small-scale landslide occurred. Underneath the mine, there were signs of loose coal layers and so areas showed signs of water seepage. At that ti, several high-pressure water pumps had been deployed to carry out drainage operations. Secretary Wang’s collected docunts clearly indicated that during this period, the production managent departnt had submitted the causes of the accidents and potential risks to the Su Group several tis.

"However, according to the docunts I retrieved from the secretariat, there were no reports regarding this situation in May or June," Su Ziceng also had Yan Wuxu pull out recent docunts, which turned out to be useless data.

"If we had followed the production schedule of the sa period in previous years, either halting production for rectification or arranging more pumps for the operation, then this major water leakage accident could have been completely avoided," Secretary Wang felt particularly indignant that despite knowing this, instructions from Su Group’s headquarters still directed normal operations.

This reminded Secretary Wang of when Chang i was still in the secretariat, almost staying up all night to monitor the production arrangents in the mine. Coal mining has always been the industry most prone to accidents - one slip, and lives are at risk.

"So, the main reasons for the accident were insufficient pumps and incorrect production arrangents?" Su Ziceng spotted this highlighted in red circles in Secretary Wang’s docunts.

In the unshaded parking lot, the ground was already emitting a distorted heat. Yet, both were deeply imrsed in the data from the Jinxi mining disaster, careless of the scorching sun. Compared to the fierce sun, those who disregarded human lives were even more sinister.

"No, miss, there were enough pumps, but they were all outdated and discarded pumps. In the past, the chairman would purchase a large batch of German pumps annually, which had long operational cycles and strong drainage power, so there were no issues. But this batch of pumps from the 60s and 70s, which were outdated and used, had very poor efficiency," Secretary Wang lanted, puzzled why Su Qingzhang would approve the purchase of such pumps.
