Su Ziceng entered Su Qingzhang’s bedroom again and sensed the tense atmosphere in the room.

Pello and Su Qingzhang were both silent, just looking at each other. It seed this et-the-parents did not go smoothly.

Su Ziceng tugged at Pello, signaling him to leave first.

"Pello, you still haven’t answered my earlier question," Su Qingzhang reached again for the dication bottles, and Su Ziceng quickly intervened: "Dad, are you feeling unwell again? I’ll call the doctor."

Too much dication in one day can rush the blood to the head, Su Qingzhang felt.

"I will prove it through my actions; Ziceng, let’s step outside for now, let the chairman rest well," Pello took Su Ziceng out of the room and closed the door behind her.

Su Ziceng was still worried, Chang Chi ca over, she glanced at Pello, and pushed open the door to enter.

Perhaps father’s mood might improve in front of Chang Chi, and Su Ziceng felt relieved, thinking to see Pello out.

"Would you like to visit my house," walking in the Su Family garden, Pello noticed Su Ziceng’s distracted mind, thinking the personnel changes in the company must have affected her too.

Su Ziceng had never been to Pello’s house; she didn’t even know where he lived after leaving Kelly Won’s College. On a normal day, she would have been happy to visit a bachelor’s dwelling, but today, she wasn’t in the mood.

"Maybe another day," Su Ziceng politely declined Pello’s invitation.

Pello didn’t intend to give up; he bowed his head slightly closer, his breath brushing Su Ziceng’s face, "Today is my birthday."

It must be today; Pello didn’t want his careful preparations to be in vain.

"Why didn’t you tell earlier," Su Ziceng was sowhat surprised, Pello never ntioned that today was his birthday.

"Since I was twelve, I’ve never celebrated my birthday; actually, no one has celebrated it for . I thought this year would be different," Pello didn’t like celebrating birthdays, too noisy, it reminded him of the days when his parents were alive.

Su Ziceng hesitated, she realized it was an inappropriate ti to refuse, after a mont of thought, she nodded her head.

Pello’s rented house was located in the Fourth District; it was part of a recently developed property. When Su Ziceng arrived, it was early evening, and the taxi stopped right under a street lamp. The milky yellow light made the figures of the two stepping out look radiant.

At Pello’s insistence, Su Ziceng did not buy a birthday cake; they first bought so fruits at the supermarket, and for everything else, Pello said he had already prepared at ho.

Su Ziceng rembered that ti in Sister Mu’s store when Pello brought even cooking pots; it seed like his ho was surely well-equipped.

Pello’s ho was on the third floor, not too high nor too low. The door was sliding, and the room’s decoration all in light grey tones. Except for a set of decorative drinking cups that were slightly colorful, the Northern European style furniture, beige blankets, everything looked clean, yet there was also a cold undertone, different from his feeling in school.

Upon entering, Pello brought out a small pot, a long loaf of toast, followed by so white cheese.

"Just the two of us, simple, we’ll have cheese fondue." Just like Pello, Su Ziceng also disliked the sll of oily fus, especially today being Pello’s birthday, it wouldn’t be fair to make the host work.

The cheese was thrown into the pot, along with so wine, and it quickly lted, raising white bubbles in the pot. Pello managed the stirring, while Su Ziceng cut the toast into suitable bite-sized pieces.

The cheese, with the fragrance of wine, lted in their mouths, a rich fragrance of milk and alcohol filling their pallets, while Su Ziceng cautiously blew on the hot bites, taking the crisp ice-cold wine handed by Pello.

She unknowingly drank half a bottle, her face flushed with red.

Pello ate very little, seemingly content by rely watching Su Ziceng eat.

The cheese in the pot dried up, and the toast was mostly eaten.

"Happy Birthday," Su Ziceng rembered, tipsily gazing at Pello.

Pello stepped closer, noticing so cheese still on the corner of Su Ziceng’s mouth.

"Is it real or fake?" Pello pondered Su Qingzhang’s words, with a deeper smile on his lips.

If she wasn’t Su Qingzhang’s daughter, he would have treated her sincerely, maybe even fallen in love with her. Fallen for this woman with cheese still on her lips.
