"It’s now half past ten, and in about an hour, the stock market will close. I’ll co to you," Su Ziceng glanced at the ti. This period was precisely when the securities market opened. It would be sowhat difficult to get Qiu Zhi to co out, as every second was precious. She might as well stay on campus a bit longer, perhaps she could find soone familiar.
She had only walked a few steps when she didn’t see any familiar faces, but a familiar car indeed caught her eye. Standing in the middle of the road, Su Ziceng hesitated as the yellow Ferrari raced towards her, then abruptly stopped, and Hang Yishao leaned out of the car.
Compared to Su Ziceng’s hesitation, his reaction was more direct. Hang Yishao cursed inwardly, wishing he had never agreed to the dean to supervise the humanities college students’ dissertation defenses – what a ss now.
Hang Yishao was feeling conflicted; the phone call a few nights ago had made him very angry, but after the anger subsided, he didn’t know what to do next. Su Ziceng’s intention was already very clear.
"You’re back in the country," thought Hang Yishao and finally got out of the car, not caring that his car was still across the main road of West Lake. Luckily, there were not many passersby at this ti.
"Yishao," Su Ziceng gritted her teeth, thinking it’s better to clear things up with him sooner or later, "I have sothing I want to talk to you about."
"No need to say more," said Hang Yishao, waving his hand.
"I must say it, it’s for the benefit of both of us," once Su Ziceng started, she wanted to clarify things.
"What? Tell how you and that teacher enjoyed yourselves abroad, tell , you fucking want to dump , tell you want to break off our engagent?" Hang Yishao kicked the car fiercely.
Alongside the quiet West Lake, a piercing alarm sounded. Hang Yishao had never felt as worthless as he had these past few months. Fei Qing and his gang seeing him always without a female companion mocked him for being chaste for Su Ziceng.
Chastity, such a feminine word, being applied to him, Hang Yishao, was a total disgrace. On the very night he spoke with Su Ziceng, Mr. Hang, in frustration, told his fair-weather friends that he was going to return to his old ways. He called all his old and new girlfriends back, but the problem was, he just could not muster the enthusiasm. He felt like a monk who had been vegetarian for years faced with a table full of at dishes, utterly devoid of desire.
At this mont, seeing Su Ziceng and hearing her say these words, it was undoubtedly deadly for Hang Yishao. He even began to wonder if not being able to marry Su Ziceng in this lifeti ant he should beco a monk.
"Yishao, I once wanted to give you happiness, but in the end, I still didn’t manage it well, I’m sorry." Su Ziceng also sensed that Hang Yishao’s emotions were sowhat out of control. On West Lake, their reflections stretched out, the re ter’s distance feeling as vast as mountains and rivers apart.
"Ziceng, we’ve known each other for over twenty years, does that really not asure up to those few short years with that teacher? I think you are just confused," Hang Yishao walked up to her, forcing her to look him in the eye.
"We’ve known each other long enough," the weary tone used by Su Ziceng made Hang Yishao sowhat panicky.
It had been a long ti, long enough that for a while, Su Ziceng had rejected Pello for him. She and Hang Yishao had been through everything – marriage, break-up, annoyance, conflicts; none of those mories were pleasant. If in the early days of her rebirth, she fought for Hang Yishao for the sake of the past Su Ziceng, now, she had learned to give up Hang Yishao for her own heart’s sake.
"You don’t have to decide so quickly, I’ll give you half a year to rediscover," Hang Yishao firmly held her hand, looking directly into her eyes, "I will pursue you properly."
Hang Yishao’s previous panic had subsided, half a year until the ti agreed with Su Qingzhang. After half a year, when he would officially take over Hang Family operations, regardless of the outco, Su Ziceng must marry him.
Their agreent was just a lie. But sotis, won need to be deceived with lies.
Su Ziceng wanted to pull her hand away, but both her arm and her eyes seed bound by Hang Yishao.
After he finished speaking, Hang Yishao finally released her hand, and then, pretending as if nothing had happened, he took her to Daquan University. Only after Qiu Zhi erged from the apartnt did he leave.
"Ziceng," Qiu Zhi saw Hang Yishao leaving first, slightly puzzled, but still quickly approached Su Ziceng.
Su Ziceng was even more surprised compared to Qiu Zhi; Qiu Zhi had changed. (To be continued. If you like this piece, you are welco to cast your recomndation and monthly tickets at qidian.
