(Wishing everyone an early happy Dragon Boat Festival~ I’ve been out these past few days~)
"It’s not godfather, it’s dad," Chang Chi said while getting into her car and making a phone call.
"Him?" Chang i blad herself—she must have been addled by Yan Wuxu, which made her slow to grasp the situation. Su Qingzhang was still well and in his office at the mont.
"His arms and legs, they were all chopped off." Lately, the injury Yan Wuxu received from a drunken robbery had just healed. Early this morning, he had called Chang Chi to bring him alcohol. Reluctantly, considering that he was her biological father, she rushed over.
"Chopped off?" The news struck Chang i as well—chopped off, that useless man, despite being a timid person and having no enemies in life. How could soone do such a brutal thing to him?
"I don’t know, as soon as I arrived at the street in the Sixth District, I saw so people rushing out, and by the ti I reached our doorstep, the ambulance had already arrived," Chang Chi was shocked by the bloodstains everywhere and dared not move closer to inspect.
As they carried the stretcher from the ambulance, the wound was temporarily bandaged, but blood continued to seep out, staining even the dical sheets. It was said that the limbs were all chopped off together.
"I’m rushing over now, mom, you better co quickly," Chang Chi was in panic, inserting the car key into the ignition several tis unsuccessfully.
"Don’t co over," Chang i stared at the broken pieces of a cup on the ground, her chrysanthemum tea all scattered about. The dried flowers, deprived of moisture, had lost their forr beauty.
"I can go donate blood, he has lost a lot of blood," Chang Chi finally started the car, but spectators from earlier had clogged the road, and no amount of honking helped.
"I told you not to co," Chang i’s voice lost control, "Imdiately return to Kai Li Won’s School. This ti, just focus on your studies. Su Ziceng has already graduated, and you still haven’t even passed so courses. You’re not even as good as Su Ziceng right now."
"Mom..." Chang Chi burst into tears, her head drooping onto the steering wheel, accidentally honking the horn in a fit of turmoil. Why must it be like this, he is her biological father after all.
"I’m heading to the hospital now, you go straight back to school and finish your studies as soon as possible. Su Family needs you here," Chang i arranged her handbag, instructed her secretary, and hurriedly left the Su Family.
Numb, Chang Chi drove the car into Daquan University. As the car reached the junction separating Quan University and Kelly Won’s College, she stopped.
One by one, girls in Kelly Won’s College uniforms walked by on the road. Chang Chi fixed her eyes on one girl who looked very much like Su Ziceng.
Su Ziceng, it’s always Su Ziceng, the incident of her biological father’s injury must be related to Su Ziceng. She stole Hang Yishao from her, and now her father has beco disabled because of her, Su Ziceng, Su Ziceng! In a sudden move Chang Chi slamd on the accelerator, ignoring the screams of pedestrians as she raced through the campus.
Chang i had also arrived at the hospital; surgery was still underway. As a family mber, she signed the pre-surgery agreent and also advanced so hospitalization fees.
A nurse erged from the operating room, her face anxious, "Do we have any type A or O blood? The patient has lost a lot of blood and we urgently need a large amount of transfusion. We are running short of type A and O blood in the blood bank."
"I have type O blood, take mine," Chang i’s face showed no grief, surprising the nurse who rarely saw such composure from relatives of patients.
After losing the snow battle, Chang i lay on the ice bed, and the nurse delivered so blood tonics to her. Following Chang i’s instruction, the nurse pulled up the soundproof curtain and then hurried back to the operating room.
The surgery still had many hours to go. Chang i turned her head and told the butler in a very calm tone that she would not return ho tonight.
After hanging up the phone, she stared at the ceiling. The hospital’s ceiling was very clean, spotless and flawless to the point it almost blinded the eyes.
Chang i turned her body back, but her face did not follow her body. Her face was buried in the pillow, and tears perated through.
"This patient’s life is ruined. His legs can’t be reattached. The person who did this was ruthless, left no room for rcy, and the delay was sowhat long. If it wasn’t for the patient’s habitual drinking, which dulled his nerves more than an average person, he probably would have died of pain long ago," the nurse, concerned she might despair, inford Chang i of the surgery’s progress and situation during the blood transfusion.
Right now, Chang Chi really wished she had soone by her side. She should have asked Xiao Chi to co; then, they, mother and daughter, could have embraced each other for warmth. Over the past twenty-plus years, many tis they had gotten through like this.
But she couldn’t ask Xiao Chi to co, and fortunately, Xiao Chi hadn’t co. If she had, she would have discovered that she is neither Type O nor Type A blood. Chang Chi’s blood type is Type B.
After crying, Chang i felt much more relieved. She sat up and finished a bottle of blood tonic. After the grief, her mind was much clearer.
This definitely was the work of Yan Wuxu. No wonder, considering this incident, Yan Wuxu has been thwarted by them, mother and daughter, several tis before. But she was too cruel this ti.
"Yan Wuxu, our war truly starts today," Chang i held the blood tonic in her hand, standing up.
The lights in the operating room dimd. The nurse who brought the blood earlier went to inform Chang i of the surgery outco, that the man’s life was saved. Behind that curtain, it was empty; from all the blood tonics delivered, only one bottle was emptied, the rest were left untouched there.
Su Ziceng, having learned from Pello about the conflict between Yan Wuxu and Chang i, had no significant reaction. Actually, it was the financially savvy Pello who advised her on this.
"All these are no longer my concern. I’ve just completed my graduation ceremony at Kelly Won’s College, and for the rest, let those two deal with it," Su Ziceng had grown very tired of these conflicts between won.
If possible, she didn’t want to know any more about Chang i and Yan Wuxu. Before her rebirth, just dealing with the Chang’s mother and daughter gave her enough headache.
"Don’t you want to avenge your mother," Pello uttered these words, and Su Ziceng froze on the other end of the phone.
She responded in a very exhausted tone, "Did Wuxu tell you that?"
"If it were , I definitely wouldn’t let the murderer who killed my own mother live so comfortably," Pello murmured, as if hypnotizing.
"Murderer..." Hearing this word made Su Ziceng even more flustered. She wanted to say sothing in response, but felt unable to speak. If Pello knew that his mother’s death was related to Su Qingzhang, he too would seek vengeance, then one day, she and he will inevitably beco enemies. (To be continued.
