It was Chang i who killed Mother, Su Ziceng reminisced on the old servant’s words all the way ho.
"What are you still doubting?" Yan Wuxu said disapprovingly of her indecisiveness, "Such a large sum of money, if not to silence Nanny Zhou, what else could it be used for?" Su Ziceng had complicated feelings towards Chang i, including Chang Chi, even more complicated than towards Hang Yishao.
"They have lived with for many years," Su Ziceng murmured. Now it was confird that Qiao Chu’s death was connected to Chang i, but she didn’t know what to do.
Tell Su Qingzhang? Useless, both Su Ziceng and Yan Wuxu understood this clearly. Chang i had already beco a part of the Su Family, and Chang Chi had even begun to get involved in the Su Family’s daily affairs.
"Ziceng, we can help each other, drive away Chang’s mother and daughter," Yan Wuxu placed Su Ziceng’s hand on her own stomach. Yan Wuxu’s abdon was still soft, slightly more bulging than usual, harboring a new life inside, "Besides us, there is also the little baby inside, your future brother. We’ll take back everything from Chang’s mother and daughter, reclaim both Qingzhang and the Su Family."
Looking at the passionate light flickering in her friend’s eyes, Su Ziceng felt a strange sensation, she touched the "Red Love," looking at its bloody red, and at Qiao Chu who, according to Nanny Zhou’s narrative, was drenched in blood.
"Okay," as the sedan drove along the mountain road. After arriving ho, upon getting out of the car, Yan Wuxu looked at the driver, who courteously opened the door, and said, "Whatever you saw and heard today about what and the young mistress did, pretend you didn’t see anything." She used her usual gentle tone, as if she was still that naive student just entered Kelly Won’s College, but her eyes had changed, no longer cautious or careful, but a clear command.
"Understood, ma’am," the driver flattered, fully aware of the principle ’the child brings honor to the mother’, as were all the lower staff of the Su Family.
By the sa token, how could Chang i not know, she already foresaw this developnt while Yan Wuxu was still in the United States.
"Mom, are we just going to let those two fox spirits bully us," Chang Chi hadn’t been idle all day. She had made as many as ten calls to Hang Yishao. Just as she was about to make the eleventh call, Chang i canceled the call.
"If you keep this up, you’ll always be oppressed by Su Ziceng," Chang i looked at her frustrated daughter and gently tried to calm her.
"You should worry about yourself instead of criticizing ; I’m not the least bit worried about the auction house," Chang Chi was still concerned about Su Qingzhang’s warning glare.
"I know my limits. Yan Wuxu thinks that just because she’s carrying a child, she can soar to the sky," Chang i glanced at the driver bowing and scraping in the garden, then looked at the pot of tea brought over, cold and barely steaming. These damned servants, they couldn’t wait to rebel even before Yan Wuxu had risen to power.
"That’s right, did you see Godfather’s attitude toward ? From the mont I arrived at the Su Family till now, he’s never been like this," Chang Chi scrolled through her phone, still not very adept at using this new gadget, unlike Su Ziceng who handles it efficiently, almost as if she’s used it for decades.
"It’s because you aren’t assertive yourself. That incident at the hospital early on almost caused a rift between the Su and Hang Families; if Hang Yishao didn’t still need us, he wouldn’t bother with you," Chang i, who had been by Su Qingzhang’s side for decades, knew well how to deal with people, especially n—she understood exactly the right touch, and never to cling too desperately.
"Mom, think of sothing, Yishao has been ignoring lately," Chang Chi thought that the kiss last ti ant she and Hang Yishao had reconciled, but now Hang Yishao was being indifferent towards her.
"I can’t believe you’d say sothing so embarrassing," Chang i was incredulous that her own daughter, whom she had taught, would beco so devoid of propriety and sha.
Ever since Chang Chi and Hang Yishao and others went on several trips on Shang Yin’s yacht, her life views had changed drastically. Under the influence of alcohol and those whispering teachings, she knew that a woman’s best weapon was her own body—a stark contrast to the traditional values Chang i had always taught, that a woman must be reserved and aware of the bigger picture.
"I really regret not insisting you attend Kelly Won’s College," Chang i thought about how Su Ziceng discovered a new business opportunity through a trip to Paris, while her daughter had completely beco a profligate heir, "From now on, you’re not allowed to be too close to those dubious characters."
