"Hot..."

The brief clarity from Kiara’s slap had already been swallowed by the drug’s haze.

"It hurts..."

Her hands fumbled weakly at her clothes, tugging at them in restless discomfort.

"Nolan..."

Luna narrowed her eyes, gazing down at her daughter with an icy stare that could freeze hell over.

Had it not been for Easton’s arrival—prompting her to dismiss the attendants beforehand—Kiara’s current state would have been witnessed by prying eyes.

Who knew what kind of rumors would have sprouted then?

Having a daughter like this was nothing short of a profound disappointnt.

Of course, Nolan was another source of her displeasure.

She needed to ascend the throne as soon as possible to fully bring the Nolan family under her control.

Easton watched Kiara’s increasingly erratic behavior with a pang of sympathy.

"Your Highness, perhaps we should summon the royal physician for Kiara first?"

The chill in Luna’s voice was almost palpable.

"Most of the royal physicians are attending to Her Majesty at this mont.

Calling them here now would only draw unwanted attention—do you wish for this matter to reach the Queen Mother’s ears?"

Only then did Easton realize the implication and nodded.

"I’ll arrange for our family’s private physician to be brought in discreetly."

"No need," Luna refused without hesitation. "Her Majesty has just taken ill.

If we bring in a physician imdiately afterward, it would inevitably raise suspicions if discovered."

Aiston knew Luna was right, his worried gaze lingering on Kiara.

"But Kiara—"

"We both know what kind of drug this is.

It won’t kill her," Luna cut in sharply, settling back into her seat with an icy glare at the chamberlain standing nearby.

"Throw her into cold water.

Let her sober up.

She stays there until the effects wear off."

"Luna—"

Aiston frowned, about to plead for rcy, but she silenced him with a raised hand.

"Alston," she said, her voice slow but unyielding, "if I’m to claim that throne, there can be no stains on my na—or my daughter’s."

Her words carried the weight of finality.

"Foolish actions demand consequences."

At that, Alston dared not argue further.

The chamberlain swiftly escorted Kiara away.

"Begin the preparations imdiately," Luna commanded, her voice frigid, her expression dark.

"The day after tomorrow—nothing must go wrong."

Aiston nodded with a solemn expression.

anwhile, outside the palace, the young man with a broken eyebrow imdiately pulled out his phone and dialed his boss.

"Mr. Nolan," he said, truthfully recounting how Aiston had entered the palace late at night to et Luna.

Nolan reclined in a bathtub filled with cold water, his lips curling into an enigmatic smile, though his eyes remained icy.

"If I noticed that Mrs. Luther, then Aiston must have noticed her too."

But this only confird his suspicions were correct.

That Mrs. Luther was very likely the daughter of the forr crown prince—the heir who stood before Luna in the line of succession.

Luna would never allow such a potential threat to exist.

It seed action would be taken soon.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"Tell our informants to keep a close watch on Aiston.

Monitor his every move."

"Yes, sir!"

The call ended, and Nolan picked up the wine glass beside him, taking a slow sip.

His deep-set eyes fixed on the empty space before him. If his guess was right...

Do Sinclair and Camilla know about this?

What are the odds that they’d show up in Country E at this exact mont?

Seemingly unrelated events suddenly appeared to connect at so hidden point.

Nolan’s lips curled into a faint smirk.

"This is getting more and more interesting." ——

The next day. Sinclair and Camilla, dressed in matching casual outfits, sat in the garden of an estate blooming with white roses.

One was focused on the laptop before him.

The other was flipping through a dical textbook.

Each engrossed in their own task, they exchanged no words—yet the scene exuded an air of tranquil harmony.

Ramsey, carrying a stack of docunts, paused mid-step at the entrance. The sight was so picturesque that he hesitated to disrupt it.

Just then, Camilla—who had been intently studying her dical text—looked up with uncanny precision.

"Ramsey, did you find sothing?"

She’s too sharp.

Ramsey couldn’t hide his surprise. Ramsey had deliberately softened his movents to avoid disrupting the warm atmosphere between President Luther and his wife.

Sinclair’s dark eyes narrowed slightly as he glanced at Camilla.

Ever since her pregnancy, her senses seed to have heightened—whether it was her sense of sll or hearing.

Of course, this observation still needed further confirmation. His gaze shifted back to Ramsey.

Sensing his boss’s attention, Ramsey imdiately suppressed his bewildernt and stepped forward with a solemn expression.

"President Luther, Madam," he addressed them both, his tone respectful.

"News from San Francisco—two previously unknown factions have been investigating Madam.

Interestingly, they seem unaware of each other’s activities."

After Camilla married into the Luther Family, all relevant records had been ticulously concealed under Sinclair’s orders.

The mont anyone attempted to dig into her past, their intelligence network would inevitably catch wind of it.

Two opposing forces.

Sinclair and Camilla exchanged a glance, their expressions betraying little surprise.

"Aiston and Nolan?"

The man’s deep, indifferent voice carried an air of certainty.

Aiston- that was the surna of the Eastons.

"Yes."

Ramsey pressed his lips together and gave a solemn nod.

At its core, the Aiston family represented the power of the E Kingdom’s royal family. Sinclair’s hunch had been right all along.

Camilla frowned, lost in thought.

They had taken her grandfather away long ago, yet remained silent—until now, when she had co to E Kingdom to find him.

Only then did they begin investigating her identity.

Could it be that their target wasn’t just her grandfather... but her as well?

Or perhaps— Had they abducted her grandfather from the very beginning just to lure her out?

Countless thoughts surged through her mind, tangling into an incomprehensible knot, leaving her unable to see through their motives or unravel the truth.

However, she could distinctly feel the dark veil shrouding her vision was gradually lifting.

Sinclair narrowed his eyes, his long, pale fingers tapping rhythmically against the desk—a clear sign he was deep in thought.

Camilla snapped out of her reverie and turned her gaze back to Ramsey. "What’s the relationship between the Nolan family and the E Kingdom’s royal family?"

Since both had separately sent forces to investigate her, it at least ant they weren’t allies in this matter.

"The Nolan family is one of the major clans that migrated to E Kingdom a century ago.

They’ve maintained close business ties with the royal family," Ramsey cut straight to the point.

"The current head of the Nolan family, Nolan Junior was betrothed to the kingdom’s first princess the mont he was born." Nolan?

She had heard Queen briefly ntion this man.

A ruthless strategist in business, under his leadership, the Nolan family had surpassed both Harrison and Orlando families within just a few years.

Nolan Junior was E Kingdom’s most eligible bachelor, yet no woman dared to make a move on him—he had long been engaged to Princess Kiara of the royal family.

Camilla gave a slight nod but remained silent.

Why would he send soone to investigate her?

Sinclair caught the key words in Ramsey’s statent, his long, dark eyes glinting with contemplation.

"The first princess?" His icy voice remained steady, but Ramsey picked up on the emphasis placed on those first three words. Camilla also turned to Ramsey with curiosity.

"Yes," Ramsey nodded under their scrutiny, recounting the facts he had uncovered.

"At the ti, the forr country E crown prince and the eldest princess had no heirs.

The engagent was likely arranged because the royal family was facing so financial crisis and needed the Nolan family’s assistance—essentially a guarantee for the Nolan in return."

"I see," Camilla replied with an icy nod.

If the Nolan family was so closely tied to the royal family, why would they investigate her behind their backs?

Sinclair remained silent, his long fingers pausing on the table as he recalled the way Nolan had looked at Camilla earlier.

Sothing dark and unfathomable flickered in the depths of his obsidian eyes before vanishing without a trace, like a bottomless frozen abyss.

Just then—

*Buzz... Buzz...* Sinclair’s phone vibrated sharply against the desk.

A familiar na flashed across the caller ID.

"Sinclair," ca Taylor’s voice, laced with amusent.

"Was Harrison’s scandal your doing?"

*Scandal.

* Sinclair’s fingers glided effortlessly across the keyboard, summoning several photographs onto the computer screen before him.

To be precise, they were rather provocative images.

The subjects in the photos were none other than Harrison and Gina.

A faint smirk tugged at Sinclair’s lips, though his deep, inscrutable gaze remained unchanged.

"Not my doing."
