"Don’t worry,"

Camilla said calmly, sensing their concerns. "Sinclair won’t wake up for the next eight hours."

She had carefully asured the dosage of the sedative—enough to ensure he rested deeply without harming his body.

Luke finally relaxed upon hearing this and turned to the rcenaries guarding the door.

"Stay alert.

Don’t let anyone near this room."

Camilla stepped inside.

Though it was just a dical facility, the space was as expansive and bright as a luxury penthouse.

The array of dicines and equipnt surpassed even those found in many hospitals.

All of it had been arranged by Sinclair, just to keep her from growing bored.

At that mont, Iris, grandma. Porter, and several doctors—both n and won—were already seated inside, waiting.

"Madam Luther—"

"Madam!"

On the adjacent hospital beds lay

The poison teacher, bound tightly with ropes, and Micheal, whose disfigured appearance made him resemble neither man nor ghost.

When their eyes fell upon Camilla’s exquisitely beautiful yet chilling face, it was as if they had glimpsed a terrifying demon.

Their pupils dilated in unison before abruptly constricting again.

"Mmm... mmmph..."

Camilla cast them a fleeting glance with her cool, indifferent gaze before turning her attention to Iris and the others.

"Let’s begin.

What are the specific steps?"

"Iris and grandma Porter will first use Carrie Ann’s Golden Silkworm poison to force out the original life-linked poison worm from the man’s body," Iris explained, rising to her feet.

Her doll-like face, usually sweet and charming, was now etched with solemnity.

"After that, you’ll need to extract a certain amount of heart’s blood to nourish the primary poison worm inside that person.

The dosage should be as much as possible—within the limits of what your body can endure, of course."

"Understood,"

Camilla replied without hesitation, her eyes flickering to the dical badge on a female doctor’s coat.

"Dr. Caleb, assist with the heart’s blood extraction."

"Yes, ma’am."

The addressed doctor imdiately stood and followed Camilla toward a small side room.

In the dical field, heart’s blood is indeed a real phenonon—though far from the mystical properties attributed to it in fantasy novels.

It actually refers to the blood flowing from the aorta at the center of the human heart.

What sets it apart from other areas is that the oxygen content in this blood is the highest—in other words, the freshest and most vibrant.

For attracting the life-linked poison worms, this blood works best.

"Madam Luther."

Just then, grandma Porter suddenly spoke up with a reminder.

"While more is better, you’ll still have to endure the pain of the poison worms entering your body later. It might be wise to conserve so strength." Iris’s brow furrowed slightly. She had overlooked that point.

Or rather, it wasn’t so much an oversight as it was a complete lapse in mory.

Having rarely interacted with outsiders, she wasn’t accustod to considering every detail for others.

"Mm, I understand," Camilla walked into the small side room, loosened her clothes, and lay down on the bed.

Her fingers pressed the remote, dimming the LCD screen in front of her before the live feed quickly appeared on the display.

"Let’s begin."

"Yes, yes," Dr. Caleb stared at the flawless pale skin before him, his hands hovering uncertainly.

A cold sweat broke out across her back.

Calvin was indeed a seasoned surgeon, but drawing blood directly from the heart was beyond his experience.

And the patient was none other than the wife of the Luther Family patriarch.

A single mistake wouldn’t just cost his job—it could cost him everything.

"Relax,"

Camilla noticed the doctor’s unease, a flicker of understanding passing through her calm gaze.

"Use a puncture needle.

I’ll guide you to the spot."

"These two spots."

Camilla’s slender, pale fingers traced over her own body before finally settling on the left side of her chest, between the third and fifth ribs.

"Pierce here."

"Understood."

Seeing Camilla’s composure, Dr. Caleb steadied herself as well.

"This will hurt. Brace yourself."

Gripping the puncture needle firmly, she swiftly drove it into the spot Camilla had indicated.

A sharp, stabbing pain made Camilla’s brows knit tightly—but only for a fleeting mont.

The next second, she pressed her crimson lips together and continued feeling for the acupoints, her hand soon stopping at four locations along the right third intercostal space.

"Here."

Dr. Caleb nodded and punctured the designated spots without hesitation, her expression grave.

Next ca the cardiac landmark positions, half a centiter to five centiters beside the sternum.

Once the series of exploratory punctures was complete, it was ti to extract the heart’s blood in earnest.

"If you’re still nervous, I can do it myself," Camilla gazed at Dr. Caleb with icy calmness in her beautiful eyes.

When it ca to the Life-Linked poison, she couldn’t afford any mistakes.

Dr. Caleb broke into a nervous sweat and imdiately straightened his expression.

"There’s no need for Mrs. Luther assistance.

I can handle it."

Camilla gave a slight nod and said nothing more.

Dr. Caleb carefully inserted the puncture needle deep into Camilla’s left atrium before removing the stylet.

Throughout the process, she kept a close watch on Camilla’s expression—after all, the pain of a fully inserted puncture needle was excruciating.

Yet to her astonishnt, Camilla showed no reaction beyond tightly furrowing her brows.

Suppressing her shock, Dr. Caleb proceeded to inject a small amount of air into the needle to ensure smooth flow, then slowly withdrew the syringe to create negative pressure before gradually retracting the needle.

The mont the heart’s blood appeared, she swiftly switched to a blood collection tube.

Camilla’s eyes shifted to the surveillance screen.

Iris and grandma Porter stood before the man yanking the cloth gag from his mouth.

The terror in his eyes as he looked at Iris was tenfold greater than when he had faced Grandma Porter.

"H-Holy Maiden, please let explain!

That was—"

Before he could finish, Iris signaled Luke beside her, who promptly dislocated his jaw with a sharp motion.

The Mileage Saintess?

Camilla’s long, thick lashes fluttered slightly at the man’s address to Iris, though her expression remained largely unfazed.

From the way grandma Porter treated Iris and Carrie Ann, she had already pieced together so clues.

Grandma Porter pulled a black pouch from her sleeve and poured the dark pills inside straight into the man’s mouth.

"No... no...

mmmph—"

The man seed to recognize what they were, thrashing wildly in protest.

But Luke clamped a firm hand on his head, immobilizing him completely.

The mont the pills slid down his throat, his face flushed crimson, his features contorting in agony.

Yet his voice seed to vanish instantly—no scream escaped him.

Grandma Porter watched his suffering with icy detachnt.

"Serves you right."

Iris’s face was equally unmoved.

She retrieved the black flute from before and brought it to her lips, playing a haunting lody.

As the music began, the man’s eyes bulged as if they might burst from their sockets, veins throbbing violently across his body.

But he wasn’t the only one affected—even Micheal nearby winced, his brows knitting tightly in discomfort.

His battered hands and feet tensed instantly, as if struggling against invisible bonds.

"Buzzzz—"

Amidst the eerie flute tones, the golden silkworm they’d seen earlier erged from Iris’s body.

It circled once in the air before darting straight into the man’s open mouth.

anwhile, in the bedroom... Sinclair’s brow furrowed slightly, his expression darkening.
