"It’s Ramsey,"

Camilla answered the call, switching on the speakerphone.

"Madam,"

Ramsey’s voice ca through from the other end of the line.

"We’ve already picked them up.

We should arrive at the old estate by 2 p.m."

The "them" referred to, of course, Carrie Ann’s family.

"Good," Camilla replied, her heart settling slightly at the news.

"Be careful on the road."

Sinclair continued preparing food for the person nestled in his arms, his handso face betraying no emotion.

Sinclair understood why Camilla placed such importance on their arrival—it was for the life-bound poison worm inside him.

But he was used to expecting the worst in every situation.

That way, he was never disappointed.

After hanging up, Camilla made another call, instructing Luke to arrange the timing for grandma Porter’s arrival.

Her heart had been cradled in her hands all this ti.

Now, she just hoped to finally let it rest.

Once the matter of the life-bound poison was resolved, they would go find her grandfather together. ——

Westside Villa.

A Pagani slowly pulled out of the driveway and headed toward the city.

Despite being a top-tier supercar, its speed was slower than an average vehicle.

Yet, Calvin, sitting in the driver’s seat, seed oblivious to anything amiss, easing his foot off the accelerator even further.

Tiffany glanced at the scenery crawling past the window, then checked her watch.

The ti she had agreed to et Senior ga was fast approaching.

A flicker of urgency flashed in her eyes as she turned to look at Calvin’s flawlessly chiseled profile.

After a brief hesitation, she spoke softly, "Calvin, I’m going to be late."

"Sorry, it’s been a while since I drove this car—still getting used to it," Calvin replied, his lips curling into a faint smirk as he glanced at her.

"It’s been a while since I last drove this car—it feels a bit unfamiliar," he said softly.

"I’ll try to go faster."

Unfamiliar?

"No need, no need!

This speed is just fine," Tiffany replied with a light laugh, recalling how Calvin had accidentally bumped into her earlier.

"Safety first, right?"

As she spoke, her fingers unconsciously tightened around the seatbelt.

Adorable. Watching her reaction, Calvin couldn’t help but smile wider.

His foot pressed down slightly—just the tiniest bit—on the accelerator.

By the ti they arrived at the restaurant, an hour had passed.

Their first eting in years, and they were already an hour late. Who knew what Senior ga would think.

Tiffany opened the car door and turned to Calvin with a smile.

"Thanks for the ride."

Calvin didn’t acknowledge her gratitude, only gazing at her warmly.

"Let know when you’re done with lunch—I’ll co pick you up."

"Oh no, that’s really not necessary,"

Tiffany replied, always wary of inconveniencing others.

"I can just grab a cab back after the al."

"It’s really no trouble at all,"

Calvin said with an understanding chuckle, well aware of her nature.

"I’ve got a business lunch with a client nearby anyway."

So that was why.

Tiffany finally nodded in agreent and stepped out of the car.

Still slightly hesitant as she closed the door, she leaned back in and added,

"Just... be careful with what you eat, okay?

You’re still recovering from your injury."

At her words, Calvin’s smile deepened, the warmth reaching his captivating, almond-shaped eyes.

"Alright, I’ll follow your lead."

Though it was just an ordinary response, sothing about it made Tiffany’s heart skip a beat.

She didn’t say anything more, turning instead to step inside the restaurant.

But Calvin didn’t leave right away.

At one of the tables sat Antonio, dressed in a crisp white shirt and black trousers, his features were sharp and composed.

Antonio had been waiting.

"Tiffany, over here."

She walked over and took her seat, eting his gaze with an apologetic expression.

"Sorry I’m late, Senior ga,"

Tiffany looked at Antonio with an apologetic expression.

"Sothing ca up and delayed ."

"No worries," Antonio curved his lips into a faint smile as he poured her a cup of tea.

"I just got here myself," he said gently.

"Have so tea first.

The food will be served soon." Tiffany nodded with a smile but didn’t touch the cup.

"Was there sothing you wanted to discuss, Senior ga?"

Antonio was one of the few people she and Camilla had gotten along with during their university days.

Antonio had even helped her out a few tis back then, so it wouldn’t be right to refuse to et him now that he had returned to the country.

That was just how Tiffany was—she hated feeling indebted to anyone.

Antonio swirled the teacup in his hand, remaining silent for a long mont before finally speaking.

"I’d like to ask sothing," Antonio looked at Tiffany, his handso face etched with quiet bitterness and resignation.

"It’s about Camilla."

Just as she’d expected.

Tiffany sighed inwardly.

"What do you want to know?"

Camilla was already married—it wasn’t appropriate for her to et with Senior ga.

There were things she couldn’t say, but Tiffany could.

Maybe this was the chance to finally put his feelings to rest.

"How did Camilla suddenly get married?

And—" Antonio paused for several seconds before continuing.

"Is that man, Sinclair Luther, treating her well?"

These were things no investigation could uncover—things he genuinely wanted to know.

"Camilla didn’t just get married out of nowhere," Tiffany replied softly, taking a sip of tea as she regarded Antonio.

"Her engagent to the Luther Family was arranged over a decade ago."

However, apart from the Sanchez family, Camilla had only confided this to her.

An engagent settled more than ten years ago?

Antonio’s dark brows slowly furrowed, his usually gentle eyes now clouded with displeasure.

Had he known about this earlier, he would have stopped at nothing to take Camilla with him when he left years ago.

"Mr. Luther adores Camilla and treats her incredibly well.

She loves him deeply too," Tiffany continued, oblivious to the dark undercurrent in Antonio’s gaze.

"They’re the happiest, most devoted couple I’ve ever seen.

No one could ever co between them."

That last line, of course, was deliberately aid at Antonio.

No one could co between them?

Antonio understood Tiffany’s implication perfectly.

A shadow flickered in his downcast eyes. Well, he intended to be the exception.

As the two conversed, Calvin strode in from outside and tossed a sleek black card onto the counter.

"Get your manager here."

The receptionist’s eyes sharpened at the sight of the card.

"Yes, yes."

On the first day of training, the key lesson was drilled into them—anyone holding that black card was to be treated like royalty.

Calvin stood rooted in place, his gaze slowly sharpening as he watched Antonio across from Tiffany.

Soon, the manager rushed over, his face a picture of flustered delight.

"Mr. Calvin!

Had we known you were coming, we would have made arrangents in advance!"

Calvin ignored the pleasantries, his eyes fixed on the table where Antonio and Tiffany sat.

"Those two are my friends.

Take good care of them—put everything on my tab."

"Of course, of course!"

The manager nodded eagerly.

"Rest assured, we’ll treat your friends with the utmost attention."

As he spoke, he signaled a waiter to fetch the finest wine from the cellar.

"Rember," Calvin said, his eyes lingering briefly on Tiffany before he turned to leave.

"They don’t need to know I was here."

"Understood, sir.

Absolutely."

The silver Pagani shot forward like an arrow released from its bow.

If Tiffany had witnessed this, her jaw would have dropped in disbelief.

Wasn’t he supposed to be out of practice?

Inside the restaurant, Antonio was just about to speak when soone suddenly approached.
