So people never learn.

Luke’s face remained impassive—he had clearly anticipated the consequences of Micheal provoking Madam.

"Insert a nasogastric tube for him," Camilla tossed a handkerchief onto Micheal’s body, her crimson lips curling into a slow, icy smile.

"Now we won’t have to worry about his als."

Without another word—or even a backward glance—she turned and walked away.

Her slender, graceful figure exuded an indescribable chill.

The black Rolls-Royce pulled away, heading straight for the Luther Family Manor.

At a prestigious hospital in San Francisco, a man in a white coat sat in a leather chair, flipping through a file.

His refined, handso features were accentuated by the golden glow of the setting sun streaming through the window.

Just then, a knock sounded at the door.

The man didn’t look up, his voice calm and detached.

"Co in."

A woman with a stunning figure walked in, her stiletto heels clicking sharply against the floor.

"Senior ga."

"Blessing?"

The man paused mid-flip through the files in his hands, the impatience in his eyes vanishing the mont he looked up.

"What brings you here?"

His dark eyes were calm, and when he fixed them on soone, they carried an air of gentle elegance.

"I was in the area for a dical seminar and thought I’d drop by to see you," Blessing said with a smile, leaning casually against the edge of Antonio’s desk.

Her voice was laced with anticipation as she asked, "So, what do you say?

Care to join for dinner?"

As she leaned forward, her curves were accentuated to their fullest, exuding undeniable allure.

Ever since word got out that Antonio and Camilla weren’t together—and that Camilla had married soone else—those who had once given up hope began scheming again.

After all, a man as handso and talented as him was impossible to resist.

Blessing was no exception.

Antonio curved his lips into a faint smile, his tone warm and composed.

"I’d love to have dinner with you, junior."

When he smiled, faint laugh lines appeared beneath his eyes, radiating an indescribable warmth.

Was that a yes?

Blessing’s eyes lit up, a hopeful smile spreading across her face.

But clearly, she’d celebrate too soon.

Antonio’s gentle voice continued,

"Unfortunately, I already have plans for tonight."

Blessing’s smile froze.

Refusing to give up, she softened her tone and ventured cautiously,

"Who could possibly be important enough to secure an evening with Senior ga?"

Her voice dropped to a whisper, "Could it be... Camilla?"

At the ntion of the na, Antonio’s smile remained, but his dark eyes turned noticeably colder as they rested on Blessing.

"I don’t believe I need to report my schedule to you, junior."

Blessing stiffened, her expression instantly turning awkward.

"Senior ga, you misunderstand—that wasn’t what I ant..."

Antonio glanced at his wristwatch and interrupted Blessing with a practiced smile.

"Got a eting in five minutes," he said smoothly.

"I won’t be able to walk you out."

His tone remained pleasant, but the dismissal in his words was unmistakable.

Being brushed off so coldly by the man she liked would sting any woman’s pride.

"Don’t bother," Blessing replied, her cheeks burning as she pushed herself up from his desk.

"I won’t take up any more of your ti."

She hurried out before he could respond, the door clicking shut behind her.

Silence settled over the office.

Expressionless, Antonio closed the file in his hands.

Then, from his drawer, he retrieved a pair of white rubber gloves and alcohol wipes, ticulously wiping down the spot where Blessing had sat—as though scrubbing away so invisible filth.

Beneath his composed deanor, a quiet frost lingered in his eyes.

Just then, another knock sounded at the door.

"Sir."

The assistant, clad in a dark gray suit, strode briskly into the room.

Antonio’s thin lips parted slightly, his voice calm and asured.

"Fire everyone responsible for reception downstairs."

"Yes, sir."

The assistant nodded impassively.

The mont they encountered that unfamiliar woman at the elevator, he had already anticipated this outco.

Antonio remained silent, his movents deliberate and unhurried.

"Days of investigation, and this is all you’ve uncovered?"

Every scrap of information could have been gathered from idle gossip.

Nothing of actual use—not a single lead.

"My apologies for my incompetence."

The assistant stole a cautious glance at the refined and handso man before him before continuing.

"Any other details about Miss Rodriguez... appear to have been deliberately concealed by the Luther Family."

In the capital, the Luther Family’s influence was so vast they could practically cover the sky with a single hand.

The Luther Family.

Sinclair.

Antonio paused while wiping the table, his mind once again conjuring the image of that imposing man.

His eyes narrowed sharply.

"It seems I’ll have to find another way."

Antonio needed to know everything that had happened to Camilla during his absence.

Only then could he proceed with his next steps.

Noticing the displeasure radiating from Antonio, his assistant instinctively held his breath and lowered his head.

"Keep an eye on the Luther Family until Camilla shows up," Antonio said coolly.

"And while you’re at it, look into soone for ."

What he wanted, he always got—without fail.

"Yes, sir," the assistant nodded, but hesitated before leaving.

"Sir... the Madam has sent another ssage urging you to return."

"I haven’t gotten what I ca for yet.

How can I possibly leave now?"

Antonio peeled off his rubber gloves and tossed them into the trash bin.

His dark eyes, lowered until now, lifted to et his assistant’s gaze.

"You know what to say."

A flicker of hesitation crossed the assistant’s face, but he nodded nonetheless.

"...Understood."

Inside the black Rolls-Royce, Camilla sat in the back seat with Carrie Ann in her arms, gently twisting the little girl’s soft hair into two tiny buns.

She tied them with red silk ribbons that matched the shade of her own qipao.

Already as delicate and lively as a porcelain doll, Carrie Ann now looked even more like a real-life version of those adorable painting children—utterly charming.

"So?"

Camilla admired her handiwork, her beautiful eyes crinkling with satisfaction.

"Does Carrie Ann like it?"

The love for beauty knows no age.

Carrie Ann gazed at the LCD screen Camilla had thoughtfully propped up in front of her, her crystal-clear eyes—round and bright like grapes—daring back and forth.

Beaming, she nodded repeatedly. Camilla’s smile softened even more.

At that very mont, Luke’s phone suddenly rang.

"Madam," Calvin turned his head slightly.

"It’s a call from Mileage."

Camilla imdiately understood the implication.

With composed grace, she spoke.

"Answer it."

Luke gave a slight nod and pressed the answer button.

"I see," Calvin lowered his gaze, his voice dropping to a grave tone.

"Hold on, I’ll consult Madam first."

The call ended abruptly at that point.

"Madam," Luke shot a aningful glance at Carrie Ann before reporting truthfully.

"They want to establish contact imdiately." Now?

"Alright."

Camilla lowered her gaze as she gently tucked away the stray hairs framing Carrie Ann’s face. "

Just patch it directly."

Luke gave a brief nod and imdiately switched the call to video mode before redialing.

The live feed instantly appeared on the computer screen in front of Camilla.

The call connected almost imdiately, revealing the face of a young woman.

She appeared to be around twenty years old, dressed in traditional black Mileage ethnic attire, with a silver necklace bearing so kind of intricate tribal pendant resting against her collarbone.
