This dealt another crushing blow, leaving Porter Corporation gasping for breath under the suffocating pressure.

Everyone knew that without decisive leadership, the Porter family’s empire wouldn’t last much longer.

A new helmsman had to be chosen—fast.

The various branches of the Porter family began stirring, each eager to seize power and replace the main lineage.

In the blink of an eye, the Porter family found itself besieged by chaos—both from within and without.

anwhile, at Calvin Corporation...

The man in a light gray suit stood by the window, his striking peach-blossom eyes gazing down at the bustling traffic below.

Though the corners of his eyes tilted upward in a naturally charming curve, there was an unmistakable coldness in their depths.

Sinclair had gone to Mileage—undoubtedly because he’d discovered the truth about the Life bound poison.

A man as proud as him, forced into a shared fate with the very person who had repeatedly sched against him...

It must have been worse than death. At the thought, a self-deprecating smirk tugged at the man’s lips.

And all of it—every bit of this ss—had stemd from a single mont of his own weakness.

Just then, a knock sounded at the door.

"Mr. Calvin" Jey stepped inside. Calvin didn’t turn around.

"What is it?"

His voice was unhurried, almost lazily indifferent.

"The Porter family’s stocks," Jey reported in a low tone, relaying the latest updates, "have fallen to the point you predicted."

"That was faster than I expected," Calvin narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze inscrutable.

"Proceed as planned."

"Mr. Calvin, you were deceived by Michael too," Jey didn’t respond imdiately, instead furrowing his brow.

"Besides, capturing that man cost us dearly," He paused before continuing.

"There’s no need to sacrifice the interests of Calvin Group just to—"

Before he could finish, the man’s icy voice cut him off.

"Oh?"

Calvin turned to face him.

"Since when do you tell how to do things?!"

Though his eyes held a faint smile, the look he gave was razor-sharp and chilling.

Jey’s heart lurched, and he imdiately lowered his head.

"My apologies, sir."

Calvin studied him for a long mont before finally looking away.

"Don’t let it happen again."

His tone was calm, yet it carried an unmistakable weight that pressed down on Jey.

"Yes, sir!"

"Go ahead,"

Calvin stretched his long legs as he settled back into the sofa, lighting a cigarette.

His srizing eyes peered through the swirling smoke at Jey.

"What else is there?"

"Dinner with the foreign investors from E Country tonight is scheduled at 7 pm" Jey inquired cautiously.

"Will you be inviting Ms. Tiffany as your companion again?"

Tiffany?

That kind of occasion wasn’t suited for her. Calvin paused mid-drag, then shook his head.

"Just contact that woman from last ti—the one who attended Grandpa Luther’s birthday banquet.

Aria."

His brow furrowed slightly, struggling to recall the na.

Jey imdiately caught on and supplied,

"Ms. Aria."

"Hmm,"

Calvin exhaled a slow stream of smoke, his striking features composed and indifferent.

anwhile, at the Luther Family ancestral ho.

"Just a misunderstanding?

"Grandpa Luther studied the couple with keen interest, his gaze probing.

"Absolutely," Camilla nodded with an exasperated laugh.

"Besides, with you overseeing things here at the old house,"

She turned to Sinclair, her beautiful eyes twinkling with amusent as she teased,

"Even if Sinclair had the nerve, he wouldn’t dare act on it. Right?"

"Right,"

Sinclair’s gaze flickered to the faint mark on Camilla’s lips, his own curving into a faint smirk.

"But not entirely."

Camilla hadn’t expected her husband to play along so poorly.

She froze for a mont, caught off guard.

"What do you an by this?"

Grandpa Luther’s brows furrowed even deeper with displeasure.

Before he could say another word, Sinclair’s deep voice cut through the silence once more.

"To be precise, I wouldn’t even dream of bullying Camilla."

"That’s more like it."

Grandpa Luther snorted coldly, though the grip on his cane loosened slightly.

Had the answer co any later, he might not have been able to hold back from swinging it.

The dining room was now filled with warmth and laughter, dispelling the gloom that had lingered in recent days.

As the al ca to an end, Camilla walked Sinclair to the door, where Ramsey stood waiting beside the open rear car door.

"Shall I go now?"

Sinclair arched an eyebrow, his gaze holding an unspoken depth.

Unaware of the hidden aning in his eyes, Camilla simply smiled sweetly and nodded.

"Alright."

*Heartless little thing.*

Sinclair’s handso brows furrowed slightly as he tugged at his necktie with an air of nonchalance.

"Not feeling comfortable. Help adjust it, Camilla."

"Let try," Camilla nodded and stepped closer, rising slightly on her tiptoes to straighten his tie before loosening it just a touch.

"There."

Just as she was about to pull away, Sinclair’s arm encircled her slender waist, leaving her no room to retreat.

Then, he lowered his head and captured her lips.

Camilla lted under the tenderness of his kiss, responding with equal warmth.

The sweetness between them only fueled Sinclair’s desire—deepening the kiss, slow and lingering.

This wasn’t just a display of affection.

This was outright lethal.

Ramsey, long accustod to such scenes, averted his gaze and quietly slipped into the car.

Minutes passed before the two finally parted, breathless.

"Wait for ," he murmured.

With Camilla around, work beca utterly dull.

"I will." Camilla nodded.

Only then did Sinclair get into the car and leave.

The servants who had been standing at a distance all along watched this sweet scene with astonishnt.

Hadn’t everyone said Mr. Sinclair and his wife quarreled last night?

Seems like it was just gossip. Inside the car.

Sinclair sat in the back seat, his gaze fixed on Camilla’s figure in the rearview mirror.

He didn’t look away until she was completely out of sight.

"How are things?"

He placed a cigarette between his thin lips, flicked open a lighter, and the blue fla illuminated his strikingly handso face.

Ramsey knew exactly what the CEO was asking about.
