"Fine, I’m going up.

No need to be so scary," lissa muttered under her breath before casting a dejected glance at Camilla.

"Camilla, let’s hang out again next ti," she said, then quickly added with a conspiratorial whisper, "Just the two of us—no one else."

"Deal," Camilla replied, her crimson lips curling into a playful smile.

"Just us girls—no Sinclair allowed."

Taylor could only shake his head with a resigned chuckle.

"Alright, I’m heading to my room now," lissa sighed dramatically, shooting Camilla a knowing look before trudging reluctantly up the stairs.

Each step she took seed heavier than the last, as if she were dragging invisible weights.

If it weren’t for that rogue Vicente, she’d already be sunbathing on the beaches by now.

How utterly infuriating!

At this thought, lissa stopped abruptly, her face flushed with indignation as she whirled around to glare at Vicente.

Vicente, ever perceptive, imdiately caught her fiery gaze and lifted his eyes to et hers.

"Watch your back!"

lissa clenched her delicate, fair fist, shaking it in silent fury, her expression a storm of unspoken threats.

Vicente rely arched an eyebrow, his lips curling into a quiet, amused smirk.

Taylor seed to sense sothing amiss. His brows knitted slightly as he turned to glance behind him.

But lissa was already one step ahead.

Before her older brother could catch her in the act, she darted forward, quick as a rabbit, putting distance between them.

Yes, a rabbit. Small and white.

Vicente mused silently to himself.

"I’m curious," Camilla asked with a light chuckle.

"What exactly did Sinclair do to make lissa so afraid of him?"

Vicente, too, turned his gaze toward Taylor.

Taylor’s pale yet handso face wore a complicated, resigned smile as mories surfaced.

"You’d better ask Sinclair about that when you get back."

"Alright." Camilla checked the ti and set down her teacup.

"It’s about ti."

She selected another silver needle from her pouch and approached Taylor, then glanced at Vicente.

"Sir, could you help Taylor sit up?"

With his back and arms already covered in needles, Taylor would struggle to sit up on his own.

"No problem."

Vicente nodded and strode over before Taylor could respond.

His muscular arm flexed slightly as he effortlessly pulled the man upright.

With a teasing grin, he added, "Taylor, seems like the Taylor family kitchen isn’t doing its job—both you and your sister are way too skinny."

Camilla nearly laughed out loud.

Truth be told, despite Taylor’s delicate constitution, his physique was anything but frail—his lean muscles were perfectly defined.

However. She glanced at the man beside her, whose powerful physique was evident even through his clothes, and shook her head with a wry smile.

If compared to him, she might as well have said nothing.

"Not great, I suppose," Taylor’s pale lips curled into a faint, humorless smile.

"What, planning to toss a few border deals as charity?"

Typical Taylor.

Never missing a chance to exploit an opportunity.

Vicente’s teasing grin faded as he crossed his arms and turned to Camilla.

"Miss, he’s sitting up now.

Feel free to finish him off—or whatever you had in mind." "It’s not that serious," Camilla chuckled, her gaze settling on Taylor.

"Most of the toxins have been expelled, but I need to draw so blood from your hand."

Taylor nodded, his smile unchanging as he extended his hand obligingly.

"Be my guest."

Without another word, Camilla swiftly pricked all ten of his fingertips.

The pain was sharp—after all, the fingers were tied to the heart—but to Taylor, it was nothing.

He didn’t even flinch.

As she worked, the swelling and numbness in his fingers began to fade almost instantly.

The living room was enveloped in silence. Dark, toxic blood oozed from the punctured fingertip.

Even soone with no dical knowledge could tell how potent the poison was.

Vicente’s brows furrowed, his sharply defined face shadowed with faint concern.

It seed Taylor hadn’t been exaggerating this ti.

Taylor watched quietly, his calm, inky eyes revealing nothing of his true emotions.

Twenty-so minutes later.

The blood from the fingertip gradually began to return to normal.

"The results are better than I expected," Camilla finally said, eting Taylor’s gaze with honesty.

"Once we gather all the necessary dicinal ingredients, I’m confident we can completely purge the remaining toxins from your system in less than three months."

She swiftly bandaged his fingertip to stop the bleeding.

"Ti to remove the needles."

As she spoke, her hands moved with practice ease.

The acupuncture technique Grandpa had developed was fundantally different from others.

The order of removing the needles was the exact reverse of the insertion sequence.

This demanded extraordinary mory and mastery from the practitioner.

Observing Camilla’s thodical movents, Vicente narrowed his deep-set eyes and murmured unconsciously,

"This unique needle-removal technique... I think I’ve seen it before."

His voice was quiet, but it instantly made Camilla’s expression shift.

"What did you say?!" she pressed urgently.

"Have you seen soone use this technique?

Who was it?"

This thod was Grandpa’s original creation, and later, he had taught only her.

No one else could possibly know it.

Vicente had rely spoken offhandedly, but Camilla’s intense reaction took him aback, his brows furrowing in confusion.

Taylor was equally surprised.

This was the first ti he had ever seen Camilla lose her composure.

After a brief mont of thought, however, he guessed the reason and imdiately turned his gaze toward Vicente.

"This ans a lot to her.

Tell her everything you know."

There was really nothing to hide about this matter.

After giving Taylor a nod, Vicente turned to Camilla and spoke in a low, asured tone.

"While I was near the border of Country E, I saw an elderly man use a similar technique."

An elderly man?

Could it be...Grandfather?!

Camilla spun around abruptly, fumbling in her bag for her phone.

Her fingers trembled slightly as she pulled up a photo of her and her grandfather, thrusting it toward Vicente.

"Mr. Vicente, is this the man you saw?"

A careful listener would have noticed the barely restrained quiver in her voice.

Vicente studied the photo before answering slowly. "

The area I was in was...unusual.

Most people there wore face coverings to conceal their identities."

So, he hadn’t gotten a clear look at the man’s face?

Camilla lowered her phone, disappointnt flickering in her eyes.

But then Vicente spoke again—and her gaze instantly reignited with hope.

"Still, I’m certain it was him."

Vicente’s gaze shifted from the photograph to Camilla, his eyes reflecting a glimr of understanding.

"Because I happened to see this photo in the bag he always carried with him."

That was also why Camilla had seed familiar to him.

This was the first concrete lead Camilla had gotten about her grandfather since his disappearance.

Her heart surged with turbulent emotions.

"Where?"

Suppressing the excitent bubbling inside her, she looked at Vicente, her voice trembling slightly.

"Mr. Vicente, could you please tell where that place is?" Vicente frowned slightly but remained silent

. Taylor, aware of the sensitive nature of that location, hesitated over how to broach the subject with Vicente.

"Mr. Vicente, that elderly man is my grandfather—my only remaining family in this world," Camilla pleaded, taking two steps forward.

Her delicate face was etched with desperation.

"I’ve been searching for him.

Please, could you tell where he is?"

Just then— "Camilla, what’s going on here?"
