Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Not Giving Them Any Food

“Got more good stuff?” Ge Liutao was surprised.

“Of course, there’s real good stuff.”

Chiang Songhai showed the rabbit he had caught; these three plump rabbits seed a bit listless in spirit but their eyes were still bright.

“Wow, rabbits!” Ge Liutao exclaid in surprise.

Chiang Xiao quickly shushed her, “Grandma, keep your voice down! If others hear about this, they’ll be green with envy.”

She was planning to sell these three rabbits, and if the Old Chiang Family saw them, they would certainly try to take them. No one would say anything, but that brat Chiang Lidong would make a ruckus making her grandparents’ life difficult.

Upon hearing her words, Ge Liutao subconsciously glanced outside.

“Did you two catch these?” she asked quietly.

Even now, Chiang Songhai recalled the scene of Chiang Xiao catching these three wild rabbits as if it were a dream.

“It wasn’t us, it was all Little’s doing; she trapped the three wild rabbits with her basket,” he said, unable to suppress a laugh. “Little even said that the three rabbits were in a eting when they got baffled.”

Upon hearing this, Ge Liutao couldn’t help but laugh, “How can you say that? Rabbits holding etings, deciding what to eat next?”

“Exactly, Grandma, maybe it really was like that!”

Chiang Xiao’s teasing was too much for Ge Liutao.

Seeing three real wild rabbits in front of her truly brought happiness.

Although Chiang Songhai had a nice haul of dicinal herbs this ti, they seed sowhat ordinary compared to a basketful of mushrooms and three wild rabbits.

When Chiang Songhai poured out the bag of Tianxiang Green, Ge Liutao was surprised again.

“There’s still so much Tianxiang Green on the mountain? These shoots are really tender, they must be delicious when fried.” Ge Liutao was also a lover of Tianxiang Green.

Chiang Xiao said, “It’s not just these, Grandma; there’s a lot more! Grandpa is going back tomorrow to pick so more.”

Chiang Songhai then shared Chiang Xiao’s ideas with Ge Liutao, leaving her bewildered.

She was truly not yet accustod to this change in Chiang Xiao.

But as she watched and listened, her heart filled with joy.

Even though it was just a few things, they brightened her outlook on life.

“You two really got quite the haul this trip,” she repeatedly nodded and said, “I think Little’s idea is sound, the town folk lack these, they’re sure to sell well.”

Ge Liutao was originally from the town.

When she married Chiang Songhai, it could be considered marrying beneath her.

The conditions in town were generally much better than in Siyang Village, and with Ge Liutao’s looks when she was younger, she had more than enough to marry into a well-off family in town. Yet, she chose Chiang Songhai and ca down to this poor and backward Siyang Village.

Because of this, Ge Liutao’s family had almost broken off relations with her, and even when she occasionally went to town, she only dared to glance at her family from a distance.

Even so, she knew much more about the town than Chiang Songhai did. Thus, she knew Chiang Xiao’s plan to sell wild vegetables was entirely feasible.

With the affirmation of Ge Liutao, a town resident, Chiang Songhai’s mind eased a bit, and he nodded, “Then I’ll go pick more tomorrow afternoon, and rush to town to sell them the day after tomorrow morning.”

Ge Liutao had already started to put these things away.

Chiang Xiao thought for a mont, her eyes flicking about curiously, she asked, “Grandpa, are we still going to bring sothing to Great-grandpa?”

Previously, they had agreed on the mountain to give so Tianxiang Green and a few mushrooms.

But who knew they’d co back to this situation, and now Chiang Xiao was reluctant to give even the Tianxiang Green and mushrooms anymore. Why should they get to eat them?

Chiang Songhai hesitated for a mont, then shook his head, “Not anymore, your Great-grandpa has a distinguished guest, right? It’s inconvenient for us to visit now. I think we should give the things originally ant for your Great-grandpa’s house to your Uncle Canyuan instead.”
