But before she could put away the remaining half-plate of pastries, Song Xiyun had already made a beeline for it.
As soon as she entered, she slled the sweet aroma of the pastries and couldn’t resist it.
“Second Aunt, what delicious thing are you making?”
As she asked, her eyes were already fixed on the plate Ge Liutao was holding.
The pastries on the plate were pretty, colorful, and gave off an irresistibly sweet sll.

Chiang Caijiao following at her side found such pastries even more irresistibly appealing as a child. She gently tugged at the hem of Ge Liutao’s clothes, “Auntie, I’m so hungry.”
As she said this, she looked longingly at the plate in her hands.
Though Ge Liutao was reluctant, she had no other choice but to give a child a piece of pastry. She looked at Chiang Caijiao, hesitated for a mont, then handed her a red bean pastry, “Go ahead, eat.
Chiang Caijiao was delighted, “Thank you, Auntie!”
However, another hand moved even faster alongside her, reaching out to snatch the pastry and stuffing it into a mouth in one swift motion.
Both Ge Liutao and Chiang Caijiao were stunned.
“Oh wow, this is so delicious! Second Aunt, how did you make this? It’s wonderful,” Song Xiyun mumbled through mouthfuls of pastry, praising indistinctly.
